Aerial video of some of the area covered by the River Fire which started on August 4, 2021 at the Bear River campground in Colfax, CA. It was fully contained by August 13th. The fire burned 2,619 acres and destroyed 102 homes and 39 structures. We live about half a mile from a ridge where the fire stopped. We did have to evacuate for a couple days. The fire responders did an amazing job in shut...
2021 Group Campout at Jackson Meadows
Переглядів 1893 роки тому
There were five of us this year for our annual birthday hike up to Mt. Lola at 9100'. This was a divergence from our normal hike up Fall Creek Mtn. this time of year. However, there was a group of eight of us camped at Jackson Meadows Reservoir. We had three sites all next to each other which accommodated everyone. All videos except the drone vids were handheld and done with my Samsung Galaxy S...

Jackson Meadows and Pass Creek from the air

Drone video while camping at Jackson Meadows Reservoir in early June 2021. The affects of the drought here in California are obvious. Pass Creek at this time is usually roaring.

Nice! What campsite if this?
looks awesome, did you have to reserve your site? or did you find it first come first serve?
After Labor Day its first come first serve (walk-in) but for the majority of the summer you do have to reserve at recreation.gov
We enjoy flying the same area... ua-cam.com/video/5PELveW5xbU/v-deo.html Please check out the Fort Bragg Coast Raw..and the Sunset Causeway videos...Exact Same places You are...Happy Flying..PS I subbed you .
Thank you, good choice of Music
Wow i havent seen the water that high in about 15 years
Well it was that high just 4 years ago. Last year was the lowest ever. I stood out in the middle and flew my drone. Have to finish the video.
Hey there-love your footage! I was wondering if it’s be possible to use some of this footage for a no budget horror film I just shot in Mendocino? The rainy overhead shot of mendo would go perfect with the foggy footage I was able to capture this winter!
Sure you can use it. I'll have to find the original clip when I get home later this week.
I’d also be interested in checking out the Fort Bragg footage too or anything related to the area!
Kate are you there........Bwahahahahaha!
Nice video sir
Can you tell me if this is in Oregon or in California? Reminds me of family campouts many years ago. You are making wonderful memories.
Loon Lake is in California, a bit southwest of Lake Tahoe area. A gorgeous lake where you can see down to 25', so clear. The famous Rubicon Trail is right near by.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video Geoff! It brings back great memories from our wonderful trip, so much fun ❤️
Geoff and Kate, So good to see you are still at it! Love seeing Charlie! I saw Ben swimming in one of your recent videos, and it is adorable to see Charlie in the kayak with Kate! Best to you, Janet Annie says Hello!
Nice to hear from you Janet. Yeah, Charlie has it pretty good. We call him prince charles sometimes. With Ben gone he gets all the attention. He's doing great. Loves to chase the tennis ball, just doesn't understand he needs to return it for me to throw it again. oh well... otherwise he's a really smart little guy. And the most cuddliest dog I ever had. Kate says hello to you and Annie.
Love your dog, reminds me of my Kessie girl, just absolutely loved the mountains , water, swimming & bringing in the driftwood to chew on ! She was 3/4 Lab & 1/4 Queensland Heeler little smaller than Lab but same look as your even the color, oh yea she could run like the wind clocked her once doing 31 mph…
Thanks. Ben was 3/4 golden retriever and 1/4 yellow lab. Water was his main thing in life, oh and eating also. And hiking in the mountains. He passed last September at age 15. Just a week before he had his last trip to Jackson Meadows and did a really nice swim. I miss him so much. Every day I think of him.
@@gpanek Wow 15 very cool mine was 14, I still shed a few tears even now 8-years later, my condolences sir… Thanks for your video!
Hi Ben, you swimmer!
Thats a really good video!
This was great, thank you!
A very special place
Very nice video and edits.
Coming home .....
Sand harbor was our spot to go to. So many memories. Karl Burow, South Dakota now!
Went there many times with my dad and with my wife and children
I saw my first bald eagle fly up that creek
I love this area and hope to move there one day🌊🏝🏖🤙🙌☀️
So beautiful. Thank you. You have to know the desert intimately to love the 🏜 desert.
Thank you!

Is it called "Water Canyon" because it is the only canyon in Nevada with water?
Good job, albeit long. I think you would get more views if you spent more time in front of the camera. Looks like a new family tradition has begun!
it s amazing
Wow 👍
UA-cam algorithm is gonna recommend this after in 2025 . Thanks for sharing this 💕
magnifique endroit vue !!!!!!!!!! beautiful place view !!!!!!!!!!!
Nice Geoffrey. Jackson Reservoir Reservoir provides outstanding kayaking opportunities. For info: www.paddlingcalifornia.com/Jackson_Meadows_Reservoir.html
nice shots, and nice Debussy music, I spent many hours by the ocean watching the waves in Mendocino. See my article on the San Andreas Fault which goes right thru town. www.archure.net/science/SanAndreasFault I am seeking photos or video of the fault in action, when the pacific side goes down a foot or more, and eventually comes back into place. But I have seen the tsunami water rise all over Kelly Street and up to the end of Main Street, and I have swam around Heeser Drive, I was swimming towards the art center
Yes.
0:05 is that a natural tide pool at the foreground?!
It is.
This Bannisters bday party he threw for himself, as every year.
Another party for Introverts?
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Man, you have so many trees for hanging a hammock!
I really like the special effects!
Would have liked to have seen more footage of the guy that looked liked Richard Gere.
Thankyou. Sure you can use it. I also did one in fort Bragg outside the beachcomber motel. Actually I crashed the drone into a lake in the Sierra recently. When I dove down to retrieve it 20 minutes later the lites were still flashing and it flew the next day after drying out. Amazing.
Thanks for the treat! The detail you got with this cam is remarkable. I kept hoping you'd go all the way through the caves. You took a big risk to your investment in the drone by capturing our windy Headlands. I live in Fort Bragg and have a good collection of vids to invite people here. But this one especially I would love to use portions of for my abuse recovery videos if you would like to share. I will credit you, of course.
Yes, I live in Colfax
Love it. Are you a Colfax Local?
Ha! You are lucky you didn't fall off that cliff! At least you have a drone that works. Nice!
That was fantastic, thank you for posting this.
Great vistas. I wouldn't dare take my quad into some of those places! : )
do you mind if I use this in one of my videos? I am looking for clips from the 60s.
Mack R. Sure you can use parts of this but I would like to see the resulting film.
Need to go back! Man, you had the drone way out. Nice.
Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your life and what it's like living in an era long before I was born. Your video made me emotional. Things like this make us realize how time flies so fast. The experiences that we have, the people that we love and the moments that we cherished make life worth it.
Very well said Kimarnina, I feel the same way. Some day we will look back at these times right now, and have sweet thoughts, nostaligic sad thoughts possibly. Thanks for your comment.
You were fine as hell X
