1951 GMC 100 - 300 mile update and Power Steering
Finally got the power steering going. Pretty hokey since I didn't know where to get a house made. I've driven it a little over 300 miles and the issues are starting to show. Nothing has rejected itself yet.

This should be easy. The truck started and wouldn't turn off. had to unhook the fuel pump to make it stop.

I'm just waiting for something to hit the eject button, like a front tire. I don't think I'd handle it as well as you did. I'm grateful for the example though for when it happens.

I'm fully ready for that. I'm surprised they have lasted this long. I wish there were places local to buy this kind of stuff. Bugs me that the local businesses are upset that we all buy so much off the Internet instead of them. They make it this way but not having anything for hotrods.

I think it's more on your carburetor because it's seeping down when you fire it up it's got too much fumes and that's what's happening it's trying to burn up the excess

On your transmission with a 700 r4 in reverse that's the highest pressure should be rebuilt an essential blow over the motor

I checked my fluid level again and found it low after reading your comment. It works a little better now. Thank you. I might dump some of that "rebuild in a bottle" into it and see if that helps.

Your fuel pressure looks low to me and the leak that you have by the pcv hose looks like either the 1” filter housing gasket is leaking or loose or you have a bad fuel line flare. You’ll get it, keep at it!

I'd drop the transmission pan to look for metal partials and change the filter. it's easy. A simple loop in the transmission lines will let you run it, Don't just block them off.

When it starts and you pull through better cable...if the engine keeps running the alternator is working. Pulling the cable isn't a kill switch. To kill it I believe that is on the HEI.
