Choosing homebirth after abortion and misscarriage, anxiety, having a PPH & secondary PPH
Hello! I would love to hear what your fave part of the ep was. Send me a msg by clicking here :) (www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2242777/open_sms)
Epsiode 52 is shared by Sam from NSW who tells her huge vulnerable, honest, and beautiful story of how her homebirth baby boy, Archie came to be.
Sam’s story starts in her 20’s where, alike many women, she chose to have an abortion, partly influenced by her birth imprint. Some years later, when the timing was better, she was excited to become pregnant, then experienced a miscarriage.
These events had significant influence on her journey and experience in being pregnant with her now 16 month old, baby Archie. She also shares her experience with a post partum haemorrhage after her homebirth, and then 2 weeks later, a secondary post partum haemorrhage which required surgery. Whilst this is a longer episode, it is a great story that includes many different topics and experiences.

Hey! Please go visit Het Wed, Oosterplas and Vogelmeer if you haven't already. Het wed and Oosterplas are very beautiful dune lakes, lovely for swimming with kids in the spring and summer. Het Wed has toilets and Oosterplas does not and is a longer walk. Vogelmeer for spotting birds and maybe you will also spot some "wild" animals, that roam free in de Kennemer duinen. Free parking at Street Jump at Tetterodeweg, Overveen. Groetjes from Haarlem, Jasper Geluk.

"Stumbled" on your chanel and subscribed!!! A little background info about Madurodam. In 1940, when the Nazi-Germans invaded the Netherlands, George Maduro, a native of Curaçao (Dutch Antilles), Sephardic Jew (also an interesting topic, check Wikipedia!!!) studied law in Leiden. He joined the resistance and was killed just before the liberation of/in Dachau. He was only 28 years old. His parents donated this family memorial park to the Netherlands. They wanted this park to be the most happy war monument in the world. As a yiu di Korsou (macamba, non Jew) I think this history/background needs more attention. “Laat de herinnering aan mij uw trots zijn” George Maduro, 1916 - 1945

Hi, I really feel sorry for you feeling as if you are knocked of the foundation you were rocksolid standing on in Oz. I recognize a lot you said as a Dutch person who lived and worked in Adelaide SA for a while. But at least from the start I spoke the language a bit. I am quite sure this is a phase you have to go through and little by little your confidence will come back and you will add experiences that are so precious and will be with you the rest of your life. Don’t give up, you definitely made right decision, but in life things are not always easy. At least you aren’t alone.

Thank you for your kind comment 🙂 this video is actually from 4 years ago - we lived in NL for 4 or so months & were planning to go to Canada for the winter. Upon a lot of reflection, I didn’t make a lot effort to learn Dutch in a structured way, and I don’t think I had ever heard of ‘culture shock’. I think the hardest part now (4 years later) that we have 100% moved here is that unless you have travelled yourself, it can be difficult for your challenges with a dramatic shift in culture to be understood by others. Thanks for watching ☀️
