I have one of these. It's absolutely excellent. It's just the perfect size for me. I also use it for cooking soups, chill con carne. Cooking those on the stove top is annoying, as you have to monitor them to make sure they don't burn and often have to stir them. In the Mini Panda they can just sit their bubbling away until you are ready to eat (well, can't leave them there too long or they overcook, but unlike on a stove top, it's totally okay to leave them another 40 mins). I use the porridge function for this. And it's absolutely amazing at cooking cakes. They always come out perfect and don't have the crust that you normally get when trying to cook them in the oven. In fact I use mine more for non-rice cooking than for rice cooking. But it's also awesome for cooking rice too :) /

Must be pretty good, because frankly, your wife's Portuguese is pretty lousy ( sorry, but I cannot lie). I guess its INTELLIGEIBLE with a little effort, but her accent is HORENDOUS. Not trying to be mean, I understand she is probably just learning or just learned, but if the ear buds understood her, than they must be fairly good.

It's best to wash and rinse the rise in a separate bowl to prolong the coating. The amount of water required will depends on the type and brand of rice. You just need to experiment. For Basmati rice, it's best to soak the rice for 30mins after rinsing. If your rice is under cooked (fluff the top of rice a little bit) or too wet, just let it rest for a min or so with lid on and power off.

Note : if you soak the rice to cook it later, your cooked rice maybe softer than normal.

Just wish it wasn't so big with that tiny bowl. Would love a 2 person rice cooker with all that tech that took minimal space.

Thanks for the video, I've had an interest in the developments around translation devices for some time but now that we have GPT 4o Advanced Voice Mode I'm not sure that I can justify the expense for these when I can spend $20 per month and just use my phone for a similar result. Or am I missing something?
