A Photo Album of Lincoln Park near Cawker City with music

Lincoln Park was located 1 1/2 miles west of Cawker City. Originally known as "Belk's Grove," Col. Wm. Whitney leased the property in 1882 for a number of years to make it available as a public resort. But the park gained national notoriety with the annual Chautauquas that were held there. Unfortunately, today the park is part of Waconda Lake and the flood of 1993 killed the beautiful century o...

This area was taken from the Natives. People talking about making millions off of the spring. This was a very sacred place to the Natives. White people have to claim everything just to make a buck and fuck everything up while they're at it. They did this since they got here to this land
Valentino needed the love and care of a good woman in his hectic life. He was pinned the "Great Lover," and he never found a great lover to fit into his life. Life can be a........!
She should have let Rudy catch her. Lol
I love hearing the old pronounciation of Los Angeles in this interview. My grandmother, born in LA in 1930, pronounced it that way up until the day she died.
Cute story.
She's so rich lady
Beautiful display of photos and stories. Brings the Alexandria to life ❤️
50 yr old carpet tho??
This was a sacred place to native people , they destroyed it .
This is my great aunt.
Sam - this is my great aunt too! My name is Carly, I live in LA, 100 years after her. Would love to connect further!
So sad it's gone. If the lake didn't win, the Wakonda Water could have been bottled and sold, and made a million dollars.
O god that music it's awful 🙉😣😫😲😱😦o my head,😱😦😫
Is say his he ha the wondering eyes 👀👀👀👀👀👀 at every lady 😍😍😍😍😎,rest in peace to him amen 🌹💗
Having Valentino chasing you..."try not to run too fast"
Accidentally trip at the right moment so that he tackles me lol. Onto the sofa or bed lol. He'd smell really good, too, and his skin would be hot with the mildest perspiration from the "chase"... "RUDY"! I'd exclaim, "what _is_ that pressing against me"!? He'd be surprised at his own strength as his arms grab me lol. Sigh... And then....
I'm sure this seems like a very random comment but I've always wanted to see this done by one person! Bravo on how well this was done.
So mary and mabel were barred?
So much for the Rudy was gay rubbish.😂
Thanks For Sharing These Videos 📹!❤
I wanna be chased and then caught by Rudy!
AJ, Claire Windsor was a.Delightful Personality and Star who knew her movies. A very Sincere Woman too. Between Claire Windsor and Cyd Charisse both women had Horrible Real Life Names. At least they were Attractive that helped them too. She and Garbo should have worked together in a film production. RCJ/LEO
Valentino wouldn’t have to chase me……
Me neither!
Truth or attention seeking?
They were all jealous
ABSOLUTELY 💯 %!❤
Thank you so much for posting this wonderful interview. Her reminisces are fresh, lucid and charming with a quiet modesty in her voice. Definitely not a "Norma Desmond" type. Ive been long familiar with Windsor, seen a couple of her Weber films and The Claw. I own several gorgeous original portraits of her. My great regret is losing out on a bid for a poster of Souls for Sables (25) but consoled myself with a lessor one, The Grain of Dust (28). Thank you again !
Loved this date story! Dinner and dancing with Valentino? SIGHHH. 💘

Bless HIS hart!! Living in basement..just startin out.....well men w be men......
Oh my GOSH what a great interview....guess i don't know this actress...oh well...soo neat....Claire Windsor " ...maybe so...how neat about Rudy. Bless HIS Hart...such a beautiful time........so sorry he got sick or was sick....couldnt get more HELP???!!😟😟😟💔💔🙏🙏🙏GOD! He's wonderful
She had a strikingly modern look, even in her earliest films.
He was a gentleman and she was a lady..what a lovely story. I'm glad I chanced by this post. I'm a Valentino fan.
I don't know if her story was complementary to Rudy. But, I guess that's Hollywood folklore
Why do you think it's not complimentary to Rudy?
@@jeanvocalist She stated, she didn't know why they continue to have memorials for Rudy. I thought that was kind of inconsiderate of his memory. They may have been colleague's but I never really heard of her and many people have heard of Rudolph Valentino. So just a little disrespectful, I don't think she meant any harm though
@@ji5340 ok thank you for replying. I agree with you on that point. ❣️❣️❣️
Just going through You Tube and found out about these two beautiful woman and the Hotel Alexandria so thought I'd check it out. Very good, I'm not sure if that is Regis Philbin or not but yes it does sound a bit like him, doesn't it!
I would have stopped and let him catch me !!♥
I wouldnt mind being chased after by Rudy by no means. 😀
OK OK OK ✅
May we have more likes and I really love this I want some more likes
That is incredible for 1922!
Me and a couple of old high school buds snuck into the basement in the 2nd underground level its hidden behind a dumpster.. They hid old relics downstairs in the dark. Beautiful windows and chandeliers but you have to cross a decaying staircase. The photo of the ballroom reminds me of down there. We also found bullet casings and what look like a furnace.
I was born in Los Angeles and l lived in the downtown area.l loved the Alexandria and the Biltmore hotels.they still have class.
Her remarks about his being ill when he was with Pola Negri were interesting, that he didn't come down for meals....He was sick during the filming of "The Son of the Sheik" but he had to work to pay off his debts. By August he was dead...his ulcer did kill him...he was initially diagnosed with appendicitis but when they did his autopsy they saw that it was only mildly inflamed. (Correction: there was no autopsy.) The gastric ulcer had mimicked appendicitis...gastric fluid was leaking down his side to the area of the appendix...his condition is considered to be rare (it can also involve a duodenal ulcer) and in the medical journals it is called "Valentino Syndrome." There are research articles in medical journals to this day about this...cases, xrays, etc. and they cite his case. He didn't go to the doctors even though he was urged to do so and the incessant smoking and stress he was under dealing with the Rambova divorce didn't help. He also was upset about all the mocking about his masculinity...according to H.L. Mencken, he thought his life had gone out of his control, it was too fast and grotesque. He seemed to be unhappy shortly before he passed....
And further research reveals that he was not well in 1922, either, while filming "The Young Rajah." My interest was further piqued by the comments of Dr. Rawls who was in attendance during his final illness...he mentioned "malnutrition." Rudy had been saying he was eating very little and mostly drinking near the end in NYC...but, early on in NYC he did have hungry times and he had times of real hunger in LA while struggling. And it turns out that if a person doesn't eat regularly, stomach acid continues to churn out and irritate the stomach...So Rudy may have suffered for years prior to things getting worse...and the large quantities of sodium bicarb that he was using close to the end actually made things worse...It's so sad!
Correction: there was no autopsy. That was stated by a current doctor discussing Valentino Syndrome in an academic paper.... but that is not correct. Family did not want an autopsy.
He was not sick în 1922 while fiming The Young Rajah, he was just love sick because he and his wife Natacha hâd to live apart for a while after The bigamy trial.
@@secretariatgirl4249 I know my comment here is late, but I wanted to add to this discussion. The bacteria, H. pylori, has been proven to be a primary cause of gastric ulcers. I actually contracted H. pylori a couple of years ago and it was extremely unpleasant - nearly excruciating. The treatment involved very high doses of two different antibiotics for a prolonged period with no guarantee of recovery due to antibiotic resistant strains that are common nowadays. The treatment was successful, however. At the gastroenterologist, I was in tears and doubled over in pain. It felt like small rodents were attempting to claw their way out of my stomach. No kidding. Little feet scratching relentlessly away inside of me. I thought it was pancreatic cancer. When infected, eating helped. Having something in my stomach helped. When empty, my stomach felt like it was starting to eat itself. It would begin with very strong hunger pangs and lead to a churning, clawing, foul feeling. Imagine being more hungry than you've ever been in your life with ripping hunger and then drinking a shot of vinegar with some cayenne pepper and tobacco juice mixed in... That's what it felt like when my stomach was empty. It hurt all the way up to my chin. Referred pain... Thank goodness for the antibiotics. In the days before WWII antibiotics, there was nothing doctors could do. H. pylori wasn't even discovered until near the end of the 20th century. Before then, everyone thought stress caused ulcers. H. pylori _will_ stress you out and the stress makes you feel worse. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live for years with that infection. It was a nightmare for the few months I was sick. How Rudolph Valentino managed to exercise 2 hours a day and be physically fit is a feat of human endurance. How he carried on is incredible. Perseverance and discipline.
@@secretariatgirl4249 This is the first time I have come across this. No autopsy? His family did not want an autopsy? What reason would they have to deny this to Rudy?
The crazies 20 years 😃
I really enjoyed this. I would love to visit this lovely place someday. So much history.
i think i can i think i can.:) lovely old engine .:)
He’s so good!!!!!!
Is this a handbell solo piece that is purchased has a handbell solo or one is this a piece you created on own? We're not finding this song under Mark Hayes has a handbell solo. Would love to play it!!
Hmm. Her recollection yet Valentino was handsome and charming and I doubt that was different before he became famous.
He would have changed Hollywood for the better I think, had he lived longer. My father told me that he was often the object of ridicule by envious men. He suffered for this, but his adoring female public was stronger than the unfair criticism. RIP.
In what sense would have RV chage Hollywood?
