    Eylül, hi! thanks for making this video:) I was wondering if you would make a video about learning Turkish by yourself. Like I know that you’re a native speaker and probably don’t know how to learn it as a foreigner but maybe you could make a video about learning Turkish. maybe some kind of useful materials, platforms etc.

    I don't like re-reading books, but I started reading Dutch books - started dabbling with Dutch about a year, a year and a half ago - on the Kindle app. I try not to look up words, but I check words where I'm unsure about the meaning. Works well for me. I can read a page or two on the tram or while waiting. With Russian I'm just using BeelinguApp at the moment - they offer a handful of languages - as it's short bilingual stories with audio. And reading news, but in Russian it's mainly the headline and subheader, sometimes more.

    I always feel so bad whenever I see a video or TV show in English that I REALLY want/have to watch because I know that I could also be watching something else in Korean or French 🥲 but I think that you just have to find something in your target language that you have to watch for your personal well-being (I was personally very fond of Miraculous in French). Ps: I love your attitude, it gives me inner peace ✌️

    When I started watch your channel to be honest I immediately liked all these methods which you're using because these all methods in combination with these different apps which you described in this wonderful video and also which I saw in your other videos that's really something awesome and the best in my opinion in order to get native in any language, and yeah about me I'm learning and improving somewhere 8 languages and this (🇵🇱🇷🇸🇹🇷🇫🇮🇧🇾🇧🇬🇬🇧) in three languages I can speak almost fluently and this(🇧🇾🇬🇧🇵🇱) and also about other languages, to be honest I started to learn these other languages because I really like explore different interesting about different countries around our the world and I think that's study process of various languages can give me really good opportunities for study information about culture of this country and in general study process of different languages that's very curious and also I want to say to you, thank you so much for such wonderful content about different languages and also I think that's so cool that you can communicate with different people in Korean language, and that you emigrated to this country so yeah your content is awesome.

    as a Korean, i definitely understand ur perspective as a foreigner. no country is perfect. obviously, social media romanticizes east asian countries in general, especially korea. but generally, u move to a different country based on the love from the initial impression. no one can take away the fun experiences u had in korea and people would love to be in ur position. About korean education. Trust me, the education system is very hardcore and tends to relax in college. But asian culture is all about hard work ethic and discipline. But u are not alone. Most colleges is self learn anyways and just rely on the name/rank of school and just getting a degree. internships and job opportunities are already hard in korea in general given how competitive it is, more than any other country other than china. About assimilating international students, it does seem very frustrating. hopefully they accept feedback from u guys. this video will definitely be helpful for foreigners.

    probably the best video I've seen as far as being genuine in this topic. I'm learning Japanese, almost N3 (middle of the line) and always see people giving such a structured approach to language learning, I think it's good to have some structure but like you said, having as much fun with the language as possible is what matters most to me. thanks for posting this and have a nice day.

    This is so relatable for me as a foreigner in Germany as well. I find German and Asians really value the rule based fit in culture. I know that in each bigger city things are more open but you can’t escape the ultimate control that conformity has on people in these societies.

  • @nickyg7557

    I mean that sounds pretty reasonable. But overall it's pretty hard to learn every new word with context. Especially if you're still in the beginning phase of learning. I would recommend to achieve a certain kind of vocabulary knowledge and then start reading texts. Children's books e. g. or children's tv shows are pretty helpful for that, because the language they use isn't that difficult. So to make it short, learn a language like others would learn it while growing up. The same way you learned your language while growing up. I mean of course it's not the same, because your environment won't speak like that, but it's still pretty helpful. And if you don't know certain words, underline them and write the translation somewhere beside the text. But you should have some basic vocabulary beforehand, otherwise your textbook will be so full of notes that it isn't really helpful anymore. I could do that with French or Spanish e. g. which I have learned for years by now (I'm still far away from fluent, but I'm able to make basic communication with others). If I would do that for Thai (which I have only recently learned; + the alphabet is completely different, I mean I'm able to read the letters by now, but it's still hard to read and understand them in sentences let alone texts, especially because Thai language does not use space between certain words. So sometimes I don't even know where one word ends and the next one begins. I need to know way more vocabulary so that this method would make sense for me), it would be way harder for me.

    - Septum ring - Social media "influencer" - First World woman with First World entitlement - Thinks the world revolves around her and should cater to her - Complains about vacation days and workplace benefits not being "good enough" - Admits to being lazy - Doesn't like living and working in South Korea Checks out. Real 'surprising.' I've been teaching in South Korea for five years now, and while it's definitely not perfect or great, you get back the work you put in. The vast majority of foreign teachers who come here are spoiled First World women in their 20s who think it'll be a free vacation and they'll be able to meet a male K-pop star who'll appreciate her feminism and First World princess entitlement. And when that doesn't happen and they find out they have to actually work hard to be here and Korean men aren't into Western Progressive (woke) ideology that shames people for being different than them, these same women typically blame everyone else but themselves. I've seen enough "don't move to Korea" videos to know who actually put in the work to assimilate into the culture and who's lazy and entitled.

    • @s8x.
      @s8x. 2 дні тому

      yup this is the other perspective😂 but definitely spot on. it does seem she talks more about the cons but she’s just expressing her feelings. this is why she first mentioned how much she loves the country. based on the video, i think she would have a better time elsewhere if she can’t adjust to the culture that values respect, bowing, fake social life and relationships, etc. I do feel like the social issues are everywhere though, not just korea so it could be a stretch
