@@rickd3506 it's a little weak on 3 cell, was designed for 4 cell but with a 13x6 prop 3 cell is ok. I only fly 4 cell though, tried 3 cell once on a Timber-x and was not impressed. Great plane though, very smooth and relaxing.

@@jerryhermann7233 Sounds like you're under 250g, what's the problem? No matter what it is it should be a little lighter, could be better for STOL

@@ModelAV8RChannel thanks, when I was a kid I had a glider similar size to this but it had an .049 on a power pod, motor would take it up pretty high then the thermals would spec it out. This is my first high start.

Yup, I get altitude and vario telemetry, very helpful when looking for lift

@@CR5rcsuper, yes it’s very helpful . I’ve tested it in two gliders. But just the first time I was lucky to find thermals. I flew so long that my neck began to hurt 🤣

Not even in the same category, the BAMF2 cost me a lot more than double and was worth every penny. Both excellent but trying to compare a $250 fiberglass Malibu plus $40 worth of servos and a $50 receiver to the $1500 full carbon BAMF2 with KST 08 servos and a $100 receiver with vario and altimeter is like apples and oranges. The Malibu flies really well, it's extremely light and agile, can be flown in smaller places, is a really great glider for light lift and just getting a feel for DLG before spending the big bucks. It lacks inertia though and doesn't penetrate like a 1.5m glider. The BAMF2 is much smoother and can be flown in heavier winds, has great launches and good penetration to get you back if you go downwind. It's construction is near perfect, Thomas built it as receiver ready for me (mine is the one in his video) and it's perfect. So I have around $350 into the Malibu and close to $2000 into the BAMF2, no comparison. All prices in Canadian dollars at the time of purchase. But I will say that recently I took the Malibu out for a spin and had a good time with it. I should fly it more often.

It's a Spektrum DX8 gen 2 transmitter and AR6610T receiver with the case removed. I agree that as a spectator the vario would be annoying, plus I think I need to make the sink less sensitive so it's not always chirping. While you're flying it just turns into background noise that I don't really consciously notice but the rising sound does register in my head. The rising noise never annoys me :p Thanks for watching

I've only had it on water once but I have videos of it on snow, ski jumping it off snow drifts 😁

@@CR5rc me too, 2 flights on water. It was fun but a bit nerve-racking. On snow it's even more fun on the ground than in the air 😄

Mine started out twisted but it was easy to fix with the heat gun.

Turn up your speakers? I can hear it on my devices. Not much to hear other than me saying it's the maiden and I'm running a 4S 2200mAh pack.

There's a difference between being able to fly with the weight and flying well with the weight. I can feel a huge difference in the low speed handling with a 4S 450mAh compared to a 4S 300mAh. It carries it fine but you lose the low speed handling when you load it up with heavy packs that provide zero positive gains other than an extra minute of flight time.

They're not all foam... lol
