    Thanks You! i have been jumping rope for 2 months now(your basic jump rope tutorial helped me a lot) and i just got the basic jump down and i was looking up for some tricks and these jump rope tricks are perfect for someone rookie like me. I had a doubt that when jumping and landing do we jump and land from the tip of the toe(the toe fingers) or only on the balls of the feet or a combination of both?

    What kind of rob do you recommend, plastic or natural catun, is there any adjustable rob. ?

    • @MyFitnessDrive
      @MyFitnessDrive 4 місяці тому

      Great question! So the type of rope will vary depending on what you want to do. If you're looking to develop speed or strength, then a pvc rope would be best. For a solid PVC rope, I'd recommend the Crossrope brand, if you're serious about jump roping. They can be a little pricey, but if you're looking for a more affordable option, Timeless Jump has a great pvc rope too. If you're looking to do tricks and just overall practice, then a beaded jump rope would be best. Beaded jump ropes are segmented and often made of nylon or polycord. I prefer polycord because it retains its shape longer than nylon since nylon has a higher stretch threshold. For beaded ropes, I recommend Elite Jumps or Dope Ropes--you can find both on Amazon. But if you go on the Elite Jumps website, you can customize your own beaded rope. I use an Elite Jumps beaded rope for learning skips and day to day jump roping. For speed and fitness training, I use the "Get Lean" kit from Crossrope. As far as adjustability goes, you can swap different weighted pvc ropes on the Crossrope brand via a locking mechanism on the handles. In terms of adjusting the length, the only one I know of is a speed rope through the Dope Ropes brand, but I haven't used it myself, so I can't speak on how practical it is. Hope this helps!

    when i jump rope my head start hurting, i don't know the reason of this headache

    • @MyFitnessDrive
      @MyFitnessDrive 4 місяці тому

      I'm sorry to hear that! If you get them when you jump, it could be an exertion headache. I get them from time to time usually because of my sinuses. But other contributing factors could be dehydration, having tense muscles, a diet high in sodium or caffeine, or even higher blood pressure. Try stretching your neck by rotating your neck slowly in a circular clockwise movement at 5 seconds each rotation. Do this 4 times and then go counter-clockwise. Also make sure your shoulders are relaxed and that you're slightly bending your knees when you jump. Make sure you are breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth when exercising. Make sure you're drinking at least 64oz of water a day and lessening any caffeine (coffee, soda, etc.) If you're still experiencing problems, please go see a doctor. Safety first!!

    • @MyFitnessDrive
      @MyFitnessDrive 4 місяці тому

      Oh, you got this! When I first started, I fumbled all over the place 😅. The important thing is to just stay patient with yourself and be consistent with how often you practice. Even if it's just a few minutes a day, the movement starts to feel natural. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

    Hey big bro can you tell me which hook is good thumb on up hook or thumb facing towards you

    • @MyFitnessDrive
      @MyFitnessDrive 6 місяців тому

      GREAT QUESTION. It's heavily debated in the boxing community, but truthfully, either is fine. For some, it boils down to preference; for others, it's situational or specific to each opponent's distance and height. As a personal trainer, I focus on form and injury prevention. So, my tutorials will use the "thumbs up" method just because there's less opportunities to injure yourself. Throwing a "thumbs facing you" hook adds another level of rotation to your wrist and additional strain on your shoulder, so I don't recommend it to beginners starting off. But as long as you're keeping your wrist firm and connecting with the flat side, either method is fine. What's more important to perfect is the pivoting because your power comes from the hip. How well you balance yourself and transfer that weight will determine how powerful your punches will be. Hope that helps!
