Saggy socks are not my problem. TOO TIGHT socks are my problem. Oh, how I would *love* to have loose cuffs on my socks!!!
Your hack is really aimple and by the way, you are so very pretty. Take care and thx for sharing.
It works!!
Yeee! I’m so glad it did!
Gonna have to give this a try because for the life of me, I can't find good socks anymore like the ones I have. China has oversaturated the market with very cheap products.
Thank you! I have saved three pairs of socks after watching this video. I wish you only the best🙂🙌
I’m so glad this video was helpful for you! Wishing you too all the best ☺️ Thank you!
ths was perfect and informative!! thank you so much
Thank you dear ☺️
My partner thinks it's a waste of time to fix socks... but it's better for the environment if I fix them... especially the acrylic ones 😬
What thickness of thread are you using? .5mm or 1mm?
0.5 :)
Thanks!
Socks are so cheap at Ross,Burlington coat factory,Marshals who has time to mend them now a days.
You do you
Watching her poke that needle close to her fingers 😬
So smart!! I HATE buying new undies
Soooo cute!!! 😄🫶🏻
*Need a husband? Very few girls left in the world like you.*
*I just rub in same SHOE-GOO on the heals and toes of my new socks and they last for 15 years.*
Can't believe I'm watching darning socks on Friday night. Thinknour world is so fast now that slowing down is so calming.
same, I can’t believe I made a video about darning, much calmer than how my life usually looks like 😀
AND WE DO NOT WANT YOU CAMEILIA !!!!!
What stand are you using? I see it at 3:12 , thank you
Hello! I’m reluctant to make unpaid adv 😄 but I went to look it up for you, the brand is KapSnug, I only see one model on Amazon. It’s ok, I had no problems with it
@@ecoboutiquevalentina 😂 i understand 😂 but thank you for sharing!!
O my Kingdom for a darning egg !
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm on a budget so repairing is always better than buying new.
This was very helpful, thank you! And the cherry pie looks amazing.
☺️☺️
God certainly blessed you with some great gifts. You’re very talented. I enjoyed the tutorial.😊
Thank you dear ☺️
I ENJOY your videos about repairing clothing! I didn't know there was such a thread as elastic thread! I have a sweater that I can use the cuff repair you demonstarted. Also, the loose socks! I never thought of weaving elastic through it, thank you for that tip! Now my question: How do you fix a whole in a knit wool sweater? I bought a beautiful knit wool sweater online from Banana Republic and paid almost $100 for it on sale. I didn't inspect it carefully when I got it and I didn't wear it for bit of time. Eventually, when I tried it on, I see there is a whole in one of the shoulder near the shawl collar. I guess it was a return and I very disappointed that I can't return it. Have you ever fixed anything like this? If so, can you put it on this UA-cam channel? Thanks.
Hello Robin! Thank you very much for watching! The easiest way to repair a hole in knits is darning as explained in this video, You would just have to select a yarn that is as similar as possible to the sweater’s. I hope this helps!
Is it worth it to spend so much time repairing your socks how much do they cost? This is the most boring spending time
Hi Michael, this isn’t about money, it’s about reducing our consume. If you find it boring you can delegate it or bring the socks to a textile recycling bin.
THANK YOU! Finally, someone who knows what she/him/her/his/they/them/those/cat/dog/mouse/it is doing! If everyone only teaches "hacks" and "shortcuts", eventually no one will learn the proper way to do this and all will be forgotten. Eventually we'll be a society that has to re-invent everything and considering our current educational system, the new "everything" will be wonky. I believe that if you don't have time to do something correctly the first time, then you won't find time to do it a second time to resolve the mistakes you made the first time. Well done!
Thank you! ☺️
I'll try this out!
Yeah!
Very clever and informative and funny presentation. Well done!
Hi, at 9:38 can you clarify what you meant by "the other side..."? The same sock inside out or perpendicular stitching with matching thread? Thank you!
Hello! The second one, I meant on the direction at 90 degrees from the first rows of stitches.
<3
❤️
Your video is great. One comment on pronunciation of applique. It has 3 syllables. App-lee-kay. It's derived from French.
Ohh I didn’t know! So embarrassed now haha. Thank you!
Anyone who marries you is very lucky
Haha thanks 😊
So helpful thank you!
I needed this video. Now I can start mending kilt my socks and other more expensive socks. I have one question: do you turn the sock in-side-out first before mending?
Hello, thanks for watching :) you don’t need to turn the sock inside out, especially if your mend is creative. Enjoy mending :)
This so helpful! Can't wait to try!
Glad it helps!
Thank you so much😁🥰
Going out to get elastic thread 😄 edit1: nowhere nearby is open rn so let's try it with regular thread edit2: I did it with regular thread and... after I put it on thread broke. So i had to do 1/3 again. Maybe do it in part so if a part broke you have to do only that part. But end result of collar is nice. Still, I'd advise to do it with elastic thread, as it wouldn't broke and be easier to put on. Process gotten easier with progress.
We live and we learn :) great that you gave it a try!
Super, but I’d add a gusset liner.
Yes, you’re right, they’re a bit uncomfortable without.
where can you find cloth to use at patches that wont fray to sew on? if i try and search it only I get iron on patches that don't fray, which i don't want. definitely will be saving this video for the future, so helpful
Thank you Emily ❤️ fabrics that don’t fray are knits, but of course you want to pick the same type of fabric as the one you’re patching, so use knit in knit and woven on woven. The beginning of the video tells the difference between the two
This video is both so helpful and so cute!
Thank you Emily! ❤️❤️
ممتاز حبيت طريقتك
Thank you 😊
The bottom of her foot is dirty. 😒
This is fantastic, I can’t wait to sit down and work through my own big ol’ Bag of Defective Socks™. 👀 I’ve been collecting them because I can’t bear to put something in the trash just for having one or two holes or threadbare spots on it. I strongly believe that mending skills is something that everybody-and I mean *everybody*-should develop. We are far too eager nowadays to throw our belongings away at the first sign of malfunction and aesthetic wear, when in many cases their lives could be extended by at least a little if we were just willing to dedicate some more thought and effort into problem-solving. And I resent that our society encourages this behaviour by promoting consumerism, and by producing products that are of progressively cheaper quality, which makes them quicker to break… 😥 Hopefully, videos like these will inspire a spirit of craftsmanship in people that will enable us as a society to shift to a more mindful use and management of our resources. 💪🏻
This is so nice! Thank you for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment. Inspiring people to reuse is indeed my mission. 🤗
Great tutorial and funny jokes :) thank you!
Oooh I never noticed the double hemm on socks! That was so helpful! I was about to just sew an elastic on the inside of my floppy cuffs, but was worried about it rubbing against the skin as well a visible seam on the outside. Your solution solves those potential problems pretty easily. Thank you! 😊
Yes!! The secret hem! Thank you for watching and for your comment Betty ☺️
wonderful video! been mending/sewing for years and it was still helpful!
Thank you! Glad it helped Dylan ☺️
I appreciate this. I will try one day for my big family.
I hope you do :) thanks for watching
Thank you so much for your video! It’s helped me so much!
I’m so glad it helped!! ☺️
remember when clothes used to come with matching color yarn?
I still see that sometimes, it add a whole lot of value to the clothes in my opinion 🤗
Thank you so much
Thank you for watching ❤️
Yo hago lo mismo. Mi marido se puso contento que le arregle los suéteres. Solo que yo me tomo el trabajo de lavarlos a mano.
¡excelente! lavar la ropa delicada a mano siempre es lo mejor, bien hecho ☺️
