RIP sir 😢 🙏
That is my exact birthday 😢

In the UK we say lieutenant
A real human voice?! This is excellent. Really well done, thank you.
He was not born in Poland.
He was born in Krzyżowa which is in Poland.
It's now part of Poland but when Moltke was born it was part of Prussia within the German Empire.
@@rondog540And its not just that, the area he was born in, Silesia, was majority German at the time
Yes, that's right. But I felt that using the modern day country name might make more sense to the majority of people.
What a grand story of a remarkable human being.
Incorrect on AR, trade training isn’t assigned squadron, it is at location only. And just for Info, ranks 14-19 are officers, and 19-24 are called air officers
They are still commissioned though.
Propellers are the lowest. Then you get chevrions. The best way to get those is bum snorkeling and shiny shoes. Then you get the guy with lions and a scroll, these dudes run the show and are generally scary. Then there's the ones with stripes. These are called Ruppert's they are your betters they are highly educated but often lack common sense.
**formerly* 🙄
Well spotted, my mistake!
Well presented. 👍🏻 Ex-airforce chap.
Moi dziadkowie pracowali u rodziny von Moltke i dziadek zawsze że łzami w oczach wspominal Ich że to dobrzy ludzie
I've translated this to English for others: My grandparents worked for the von Moltke family and my grandfather always recalled them with tears in his eyes as good people. Thank you for your comment :)
NOT by chance but by His calling and direction from God. No wanderlust at all. Still further direction from God. He had a personal relationship with the Lord his God.
He certainly knew his maker. I grew up in Blantyre. There's a statue of him in an exterior alcove of the church there.
back wheb medschool cost less than a vacation to paris
I’m very good friends with his nephew if you’d like more info or photos - would be happy to ask.
Really, that's so cool. Yes, that would be incredibly useful as it would allow me to remake the video and tell the story much better. Thanks!
Going in a as medic in resevew, with qualifications, what rank am I likely to get
Nice! I looked at the reserves myself some years ago and went to an open day which was very useful. I couldn't say for sure but if I were you I'd have a chat with the careers office as they would be able to give you all of the info.
At best a mong with that spelling
I think this marriage was portrayed in the movie "The Pianist" was it not?
That was about the story of Władysław Szpilman. I don't recall this particular marriage featuring...
@@ilovehistory177 Sorry, I was thinking of "Schindler's List" by Liam Neeson.
What a brilliant film that was!
@@ilovehistory177 Yep and in it there's a scene of marriage in Auschwitz. I believe they're referencing this couple.
I must watch it again as it's been so long but many thanks for pointing that out.
Well thank you for this! I have subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! Great to have you in the team!
Coool
I must apologise for saying 1936 in the video. I really did mean to say 1836 and even had it all written down on my script so a silly mistake there!
Correction: 1836, not 1936... (My relatives would have noticed the latter date...) Also, the battle cry at San Jacinto was not only "Remember the Alamo" but also "Remember Goliad...:" Larger Texas garrison there surrendered as Prisoners of War to one of Santa Anna's generals... But Santa Anna ordered them all murdered...
Oh wow, I can't believe I said 1936!! Whoops! I knew what I meant to say but...yeah. Thanks for the correction!
its pronounced San Hacinto the J in Spanish sounds like an H. got to get your Spanish right dude
I confess that my knowledge of the Spanish language is not the best. Thanks for pointing that out!
@@ilovehistory177 i was stationed in Spain for 3 years, and had to learn the language. also i lived in El Paso, Texas for 7 yrs years, and knew a little Spanish..
I'd love to learn a new language one day. At least going forward I'll know to pronounce my Spanish J's correctly so thanks once again :)
@@ilovehistory177 im not very proficient in written languages, but i can count to 10 in Japanese, 100 in Spanish. i know one word in Russian, lol and my grandmother taught me how to count to 5 in Lakota Sioux. she use to teach school on a Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. thank god she wasnt part of that group that stole Indian children and tried to force them to forget their native language and culture.
Your video is super great! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much! I will do!
Too many variations. Life is far easier when things are simple!
Indeed!
Nice work! Keep the good work up!
Thanks, will do!
I would also love to see remembered the fall of the Alamo
That happened on March 6th so may well get a special mention...stay tuned!
Texas declared independence from Mexico in 1836.
Similar with Arthur L Brown
Yes indeed. There are so many examples of bravery all throughout history.

What was your favourite Johnny Cash song?
Great video. Didn't know about this.
Glad to hear it!
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
While everyone is celebrating Valentine's Day, Germany launched a ship called "Bismarck" on this day. A ship that was a fear for the sailors of the Atlantic Ocean
How befitting . I'm wondering if the quartermain story was built from this real life legend of a man?
Good
Thanks
I’m 14 and we had to report and this answered all my questions perfect Ty for a 100% or A
