2 MONTHS on Carnivore Diet | ECZEMA Changes and More Improvements + Attempt at Mini GROCERY HAUL!
I’m trying to branch out, and do it all my way, so bear with me please as I figure out actually HOW to do things 😅 I actually had a channel back in 2018, but this one feels like decades away and everything is new!
This week I filmed a little early because I wanted to talk on the actual 2 month mark. Plus, I dabbled in showing my weekly grocery haul - and already have notes on improving that - with a $120 budget for the week (Friday to Friday). We do have pantry stuff, but next week I will start adding in more food content, less talking about weekly changes since I’ve noticed things steadying.
As always, thank you so much for bearing with this new carnivore journey! There have been so many differences since the last time I tried carnivore (and only posted/obsessed about food!), and I’m trying to share while remaining vigilant!

Week 8 on CARNIVORE Diet | Energy Improving = Life Goals + Starting to Get Rid of ALL UPFs
Переглядів 2142 місяці тому
I finally feel like I have the energy to make everything I’ve wanted to do, actually happen! After trying so many different diets and practices, I know it’s the carnivore diet and putting in the work that’s finally helping move me toward the person I want to be.
Week 7 on Carnivore Diet | Eczema + SO MANY Mental Improvements!
Переглядів 7862 місяці тому
All the meats, only water (sometimes sparkling, but only if it’s in my weekly budget), and some seasonings (mostly just salt and pepper) - that’s my carnivore way! The mental shift over the past week has been something I’ve only dreamt of cultivating within myself! And I promise starting with next week’s video, I’m going to write an outline so my ramblings are more cohesive ramblings!
DAIRY FREE on Carnivore? + Some Negatives | 6 Weeks ZERO CARB
Переглядів 2722 місяці тому
I’ve officially been one week dairy-free after years of thinking I should try it, and it has been one of my smartest health decisions thus far! Also, I know the negatives are usually signs of a dysfunctional thyroid, and it was checked 7 months ago (“normal”…it’s always “normal”), so I am keeping tabs on that and will adjust accordingly. But my two year carnivore goal may be in jeopardy if thin...
1 Month on CARNIVORE | Changes and HEALING on an All Meat DIET!?
Переглядів 543 місяці тому
What progress has been made after 1 month on a carnivore diet? Plenty, not everything g but enough to keep me going! I’m feeling energized and emotionally steady, and my eczema isn’t bothering me as much these days. If there’s anything you want me to speak on more, let me know! I won’t give medical advice or tell you want to do, but can talk about things from a different perspective :)
May 20, 2024 - DAY 18 | WHO Am I? and WHY the Carnivore Diet!?
Переглядів 373 місяці тому
18 days carnivore as of filming (20 on upload day!) and just figured if I’m documenting, I need to share a little about the subject! I’m also a mom of three, one of whom is an adult and living in the big city! I’m still air hungry, hence the sharp in-breaths, and I forgot to mention constant joint pains (still here but lessened), eye floaters, etc. A few mental health diagnoses. I’m sure I’ll m...
May 2, 2024 - DAY 1 | Taking Charge of My Health - Living with Eczema, Using Carnivore Diet
Переглядів 323 місяці тому
Day one, documenting because I’ve tried this before, made some awesome changes…and then backslid because I forgot how bad my health is when I’m not actively caring for it. I’ve been diagnosed with so many conditions, autoimmune or chronic in nature, but given a script and sent on my way. I suspect I have other things going on, but my last doctor blamed everything on “a heavy period”. Suck it. A...

    Makes sense because if you take care of gut health and (in my opinion) do no carbs/keto it affects skin health too. Mental clarity and almost like a meditative state was a couple things i noticed when cutting out carbs and doing meat/veggies and rarely high carb fruits <20g net carbs

      The meditative state is the biggest benefit, lowering stress also helps your body focus on repairing and healing, low/no carb is wonderful ♥️

      @melissapomm initially it was for weight loss but after a few weeks when my daily body pain and headaches disappeared I understood I was in worse health then I originally knew. Carnivore has been a game changer for me. Glad you found it! 🤜🤛

    I was just listening to a Dr. Shawn Baker podcast, and a guy being interviewed was talking about his experience with CFS/ME - how badly his memory was affected. He then said he doesn’t have those problems anymore and his memory works so well, so I have hope now! My memory suuuuuucks and it scares me quite often, but watching out for that now 🤞

    The only thing I'm still doing is coffee, I'm sitting on the fence about it. I do not put anything on my skin that I will not put in my mouth.

    • @melissapomm
      @melissapomm 2 місяці тому

      On the fence, maybe skip a day every week and see where you stand? 🤷‍♀️ The way I see it is old habits like coffee (or seasoning in my case!) can be habitual and comforting, which can also lead to healing. The mind controls a lot as well, and if something that isn’t actively negatively affecting you feels good, then just go with it until it doesn’t! And that’s a good ideal about skincare, I WILL try whipped tallow, but once the eczema goes away…although I did not enjoy putting that in my mouth either 😂

    The bathroom issues is why I left coffee in my diet. If not I would go days without ever seeing the bathroom. drinking it black was a big adjustment for me but after a few days I just grew to tolerate it. Took a while to find a coffee I actually liked to drink black. Most were too acidic or too bitter (or tasted like burnt sticks). I'm surprised by how easy this has been to stick too also. My family always comments how they could never do it because they'd get bored of only eating meat, but I look forward to it every time.

    • @melissapomm
      @melissapomm 2 місяці тому

      And coffee is sooo much better for you than laxative pills for keeping regular lol!! I don’t include it mostly because interstitial cystitis: coffee is too acidic and always causes flares. Plus, it actually makes me sleepy, but I totally understand how other people experience it differently, and why they benefit from keeping it in their diet! I’ve also found the people who say they can’t do something is only because they don’t want to, but it’s easier on them to say “can’t”. It’s okay, it’s not for everyone (maybe just now, maybe never), but I like to think the seed has been planted and they’ll naturally be curious, ESPECIALLY when they see your health improving and your energy skyrocketing 😁

    Don't quit. You haven't been doing it long enough. People need to give this at least 90 days. My hair fell out for months, and now it's growing back. Your body needs to get used to removing all the crap. Just think, we did this to our bodies over years and getting better isn't going to happen overnight. I've been doing this for 16 months and I'm still healing and trying to figure things out. It's been a lot of experimenting, and I'm not done yet. I need to find out what is good for me and I'm sure you will to. Good luck with your journey!

      Thank you for saying that, and good luck with your continued healing as well!! I won’t quit, I honestly was a little scared, but I haven’t pulled out clumps since…and I will always remain authentic, with the good and the not so good on this journey! You’re right, though, it’s a constant experiment to find what works best, and it does require constant tweaking, but the healing part is so worth sticking with it ♥️

    I feel raw kefir should be good. I make it myself and ferment it longer to get rid of more lactose. I'm experimenting with Kefir.

    • @melissapomm
      @melissapomm 2 місяці тому

      How’s your kefir experiment treating you?? Is there a method for making it yourself you recommend over others? I’ve been using the conventional kefir so far (raw dairy is a little bit of a drive, so I haven’t gotten it YET), there’s a tiny bit of bloating but more upsides so far, so raw I know will be magical!

    • @JoMikeMilly
      @JoMikeMilly 2 місяці тому

      @melissapomm raw kefir is amazing. The process and timings really depend on the temps of your environment. For cow milk i ferment for a day the put it in the fridge to ferment another day. Then strain and whisknit with a stick blender to get the smooth consistency. For goat milk the same but no second ferment. It sits and works amazing for me. I just did my first week of carnivore with kefir. The next week no kefir just to test

  • @melissapomm
    @melissapomm 2 місяці тому

    Oh, dairy free was an experiment for one week; I planned on adding back raw or fermented dairy products, keeping conventionally pasteurized dairy out. I tried a cup of kefir last night and this morning, no ill effects, and it felt good in my body, soooo will give it a couple days of kefir and see if I can tolerate the raw dairy next!

    ** Relapses in symptoms, not in diet! I am strict carnivore BUT I will be tweaking because the past couple nights I’ve also had severe GERD flare ups at night, and waves of nausea a couple hours after eating - think it’s too much fat, and definitely the butter.
