      This is my way of relaxing lol. Music had to take a backseat to life and a career. I'm really not equipped for recording and I've been making do. This was purely recorded with a GoPro Hero8. Backing track and guitar were recorded on the camera's mic. I have been playing around with obs studio and I have the guitar recording straight from my Blackstar ID 40 interface now. The test videos I did sounded much better.

    Hey, I just found this video here and watched it. I was checking out the AGILE guitars, and found this video. I really enjoyed your playing, and the composition. BUT.. I wanted to suggest something to you about the production. There is too much delay going on throughout the song, and its distorting all the beauty you have created!!!! : / My suggestion is for you to go back to the master recording and take take any delay off the rhythm guitar track. AND JUST RECORD ONE RHYTHM TRACK! AND JUST ONE TRACK OF ALL THE OTHER INSTRUMENTS! NO MULTI TRACKS OF ANY OF THE INSTRUMENTS.. keep the recording levels all even for all the tracks except the Lead track. Keep the lead track recording level SLIGHTLY HIGHER than all the other tracks, since this being an instrumental, you want the lead to sing like a vocal. The lead vocal is always slightly higher when recording so it doesnt get lost in the supporting music behind it! And that is what happened here! Your vocal lead wasnt standing out clearly and because you had delay on the lead it was DISTORTING THE WHOLE SONG! Making the song sound too busy, too muddy from all the modulation coming from all the delay and whatever other effects you used. CLEAN IT UP AND KEEP IT SIMPLE AND IT WILL BE REALLY GREAT! ( Yes, I am also a serious musician/guitarist, multi instrumentalist, writer, producer, and music teacher ( guitar, bass, guitar, drums, piano, vocals ) JUST SAYING..... It was very good playing and really good expressiveness!

    Tuning? I'm trying to figure out how Jason Hook of Five Finger Death Punch gets his solos to sound like that.. Not sure if it's because he's in B, if it's his baritone guitar, or simply because he's just so much better than I am 😂

    I recently purchased an LTD with a 27 inch scale but i'd like to be able to tune it up to E standard. Will thinner strings/setup really be the answer? Do you have any dislikes about the sound playing with that sort of setup?

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      No none at all. You will have to adjust the truss rod to compensate for the lower tension but you will be fine. Buckethead does the same thing except he has a Les paul of the same scale.

    Must be hard as hell to do bends.

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      Not at all. I'm using .10 gauge strings. The lighter strings compensate for the longer Scale length. It feels similar to a standard gibson setup.

    • @LemmyKoopaVGA
      @LemmyKoopaVGA 10 років тому

      I have 10's on a 25.5 strat-style guitar and bends are comfortable on there, so I personally feel like it would be too much tension for me. I had 12's on a 25.5 scale and bends were hard as hell to do on those for me.

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      Lemmy Koopa On my standard 25.5 and 24 3/4 guitars I string them with 11's I never have a problem. I like more tension as it feels better to me for precise picking, tremolo not to mention thicker strings seem to give a little thicker sound.

    • @LemmyKoopaVGA
      @LemmyKoopaVGA 10 років тому

      I had 11's before I got elixirs recently. 11's were ok but bending the D string a whole step was a bit of a task.

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      Lemmy Koopa Personally I don't like elixrs because they leave a residue on the guitar as well. I use D'Addarios, Ernie Ball and Dunlop all straight steel strings and they give a much better tone minus the residue. They are considerably cheaper and I usually swap strings once a month and I play the very hard. as long as you Wipe the strings and the guitar down after each session they steel strings will last.

    Hi mate and congrats ! I have the same beauty and I have problem with my sound, I have drop C# to drop B tunning and I cannot find the right strings for that tunning! I use 13 dadario and sounds like is not tunned and a guitar tech told me that the tense of the 13"s strings cannot give me result with that tunning and I put 12 and I'm still not satisfied , Can you please advise the best strings for this instrument to be tunned right ?

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      Well it came from the factory in B-B with 13-60 strings. I would specifically search baritone specific strings. They'll give you slightly heavier strings than in a typical Guitar set of 13's. The other thing too the lower the tuning the heavier the strings you'll need. Another thing to look at would then be signal path to the amp and even the amp itself. You'd be amazed at how much an amp affects the sound. If you need anymore help let me know I'll see what I can do!

      Well nowhere in the description or title did I say I was giving a lesson. I'm just demonstrating the sound through a high quality amp. Since making this video that guitar has had a few pickup changes and is currently running a Gibson 500T in the bridge and a 490R in the neck.

    • @TAK808
      @TAK808 10 років тому

      Haha I'm rather connected to the web for work. I tuned it to standard yes. I used D'Addario 10 Gauge tension balanced strings and you should have no problem. Your scales will work fine in B standard which is the baritone tuning its just it will be a different note. For example an Amaj scale will be an Emaj scale now in that position. Roland cubes from my experience have been kind of meh. I started with a vox a long time ago. If you can get a decent Tube amp like a Blackstar HT series or perhaps a Peavey 6505 combo which run around $500 these days I believe. A good amp will make a huge difference. I personally like Blackstars but I run a Mesa Boogie like Buckethead did in earlier years. When you plug in to an amp also check out your EQ and try and go for a mid scoop so Treble about 6 or 7 bass 6 or 7 and drop the Mids to about 4 and adjust around that as every amp is different. If there's anything else I can help with or you just want to guitar geek out drop a message at timmvideos@gmail.com I'm always eager to help!

Also, you mentioned that you plan to restring / retune to standard E-E tuning... I am confused as I thought that the whole point of baritone guitar(s) was to be able to down tune without the loss of clarity.
