The pros pull the siding of for you and install the flashing under it. The Joes install the flashing over the siding because the sales guy missed it or they are just lazy and don't do it right. Then they counter flash it. The secret is that the counter flashing is just fastened directly to your siding and caulked.

You don't have to remove the wood siding. All you have to do is add a reglet and yes you can add one to wood. Thanks 🙈🙉🙊

At 1:40 Turn the iron parallel with the bottom, lay the tip flatter so that it is in contact with the rim of the outlet. This way the copper will heat faster and draw towards the back of the iron and the solder will draw under the rim fully.

So... talked to a couple siding installation companies in Canada and they alll advise against pvc siding as the material pops out of the grooves when going from winter to summer. Are they right? Or are they just trying to get me into a more expensive product.
