Flossing Your Fixed Retainer

Here at Wesley Orthodontics when Dr. Wesley finds you are a good candidate or have had problems with your teeth shifting after orthodontic treatment he will recommend you get a fixed retainer. At our office a fixed retainer is a braided metal wire bonded to the backside of your teeth. This video demonstrates how to floss it.

babe can I ask, does ur frenelum (under the tongue) bleeds when u remove ur removable expander? Its my first time and when I remove the removable expander on my lower teeth to eat it bled a lot
@@mojojojo4799 Jeez... you know you can't expand your lower jaw. Honey that only moves your teeth 😬 lower expanders can push your teeth out of your gums. STOP WEARING IT! Don't listen to all orthos please! For the sake of your teeth!

yep. but here’s a tip, when it’s time to turn it only turn 1 time at first, and wear it for a few hours. then turn it again. then after a while turn it again. you’d get used to it easier, and it will be more comfortable.
yes but not that bad, although if they opened it too much then yes. Don’t let that happen, it’ll burn you bones (jaw bones)

Flossing upper teeth for me is a near to impossible task. I literally can’t get it through since it’s fixed too close to my gums

However, the extraction of primary (baby teeth) may be required to guide the eruption of permanent teeth in conjunction with expansion.
