Steve Kerr | Championship Culture
Переглядів 128Рік тому
On a podcast with Draymond Green, Golden State Warrior head coach Steve Kerr talked about the Miami Heat culture. He said: “None of those guys on Miami are sitting there saying ‘well I didn’t play’ or ‘man they put in so and so.’ They’re just all about winning. When you have that championship mentality, every guy is bought in, every guy is just trying to win.” REFLECTION QUESTIONS 1 - What is y...

How Do You Handle Not Playing? | Lexi Brown
I'm lucky that I was a wrestler and a wrestling coach. I always say to the parents how many wrestling matches if he won how many MMA fights have you been in? This isn't football basketball something that you've been watching on TV your whole life so you think you're an expert. What is it that I'm doing wrong? Am I calling the wrong plays? Your kids out there by himself. You make yourself what you're going to be in this sport. He's got all the talent in the world and he doesn't want to work hard and the kids that are tougher than him and work harder than him beat him it's that simple.
Can he be my father? My dad gave me $100 and 1/8 on my 18th birthday
Not good
I agree with this if you have a good coach.
So it’s about the money? Ok. He talks about money a lot.
As the Rock would say, "parents know your role and shut your hole."
Tell this to Lebron...

KSU Alum Here - Martin a great coach at my Alma mater. Very animated and that's what made him successful.
Instead of being in church? He meant instead of watching NFL football
Amen!!!!!
“I’m not going to criticize someone trying to help you” G O L D E N
That floater is in point 👏
I want to make the counter argument on the parents side and that's when they're to quiet too. I've seen plenty of coaches complain when the sideline does the whole if you can't say something good say nothing at all.
AMEN!
Coach Agassi you should look up my niece she’s a catcher and a big team leader she plays like Hanson she’s a hitter to but she plays a small town team and you big D1 schools don’t look at much it’s a shame because there’s more talent in them small towns than in the big cities she’s done the traveling teams she won her first state title at 9 with competing against older girls she been on a traveling team that has made it to state three years in a row but can up short she has gotten her high school team to state the last two years and working to get there again this year they have a 7-1 record she has one more year in high school and should get a look at I know she would fit into your style of play
Periods and commas really do help. It’s exhausting to read a sentence that long.
@@christophermorales1509 Amen to that!
It’s Gasso not Agassi
I kept him on mute due to the look in his eye. Soccer parents can be the craziest, but cheering and reminding parents on the sidelines is one of the most heartening and required elements of any child’s success, but especially considering the many dynamics captured with athletics. How well parents do these things may vary, motivations may vary, interpersonal discrepancies may vary, but the coaches ego is not nearly the most important thing in any lines.
coaches’ egos or coach’s ego
This video ought to be required viewing for all American parents of kids in youth sports.🙅🏽🙆🏼♀️
I have always assumed that the majority of officials ref games because they love the game. Goodness knows their pay doesn’t begin to adequately compensate them for what is a thankless , difficult job.
Pretty contradictory to yell at the players and refs as a coach and then expect the parents to be different. This man is just a control freak.
Following the run to the Final Four, the Gamecocks failed to reach postseason play in Martin's remaining tenure. Martin was dismissed as the head coach of South Carolina on March 14, 2022. At the time of his dismissal, he was the third winningest coach at South Carolina with a 171-147 (79-99 SEC) record. On March 25, 2022, it was announced that Martin had agreed to a deal to become the next head coach at the University of Massachusetts where he had a record of 15-16 for the 2022-2023 season
Don't you know that every parent thinks their little Johnny is the next Mike Trout, Pat Mahomes or Nikola Jokic?
Preach Frank Preach!!
Do you work at Davis intermediate?
I think the lesson here is "walk a mile in the volunteer coach or refs shoes before opening your piehole." If you don't volunteer to help coach your kids team, if you don't take your kid to the gym to work on individual skills, if you do nothing, then shut up. You had every opportunity in the world to have a say in your youth's sports league, but you did nothing. Sit down and shut up, or help coach the team.
Damn right. I couldn't agree more with every word that that coach said. Well stated.
He's absolutely right! Instead of being the arm chair qb, get in the game if you know better than the actual coaches.
The is best video I’ve seen about parents! Love it
“Confidence to fail” thank you kobe. I never stop learning from you.
That EXCUSE about how much they make or that they volunteer is PATHETIC. If you offer your services then you need to DO THE JOB WELL ! PERIOD. I'm sick of these ASSHOLES making excuses for bad coaching and referee performance. It's nothing but ass kissing to the public. If you truly look at it it is very simple. DO YOUR FUCKING JOB and do it WELL or DON'T do it. I don't give a fuck if you "volunteer" or don't get paid a lot .
I was at a lacrosse tournament last weekend and there was - as always - a group of parents constantly complaining on the sidelines. They were directing it mostly at the younger ref on the field. At one point, the older ref walked up to them and said, "do you know there is a nationwide shortage of officials in all youth sports? Do you want to know why? It's because of parents like you!" and walked away.
So true I work construction all day and I'm an assistant coach for my son's 6u baseball team and it's a lot of work as voulnter coach's we get paid in smiles and hi fives I love it but parents make it difficult for sure every parent should have to watch this
I’ve watched this every time it has popped up throughout the years. I still want to hear the question that prompted this
This was real as hell.
Parents can ruin the enjoyment of sports for their kids. My father did so for me. He was a toxic bully. If I missed a tackle, it was like I got arrested for a crime. Oh, and the car rides home were a blast. Effin d***!
Yeah, but many of these youth league coaches don’t know shit and show favoritism for their own kids, whether it’s letting them play pitcher, point guard, or benching a more talented kid. Maybe that’s the kind of “disrespect” he’s taking about.
I had a basketball coach when I was like 7 or 8. His son was on the team. The only play we ever did was 4 corners. His son would take the ball up the court and the rest of the team went to their designated corner while he would run up the middle and shoot...Nobody coached from the stands or yelled but that was doo doo.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 #Respect
This video should be sent to all the parents who sign their child up for sports and make the parents sign an agreement that they have watched this video and agree if any parent involvement dealing with the ref their child will be ask to leave the game and sat on the bench for next up coming game. Thank you
this is why we have men coaches. women want to be your friend
"little league is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the streets"--Yogi
I coached Dixie youth baseball for 2 years, I saw a lot of this, this guy is pathetic, I was basically run out of the league for not being competitive enough, I played all my Kids and taught them to be fair play hard try to win always give your best effort but if we lost be good sports, I had parents tell me their kids had been in the league for years and never got to play, the rules of this league are horrible, a kid can get as little as one inning of play and one at bat, funny story we beat the best team in the league, because I played all my kids they learned and when I subbed there was no big drop in play, the other coaches didn't like my post game talks, I told my Kids I never wanted to see them crying when we lost, if we did our best and really tried we should never feel bad about coming in second, I also told them if they didn't do their best they let down themselves and the team, life is not about coming in first or winning at all cost or being mean playing dirty or even cheating, which I saw on the field, we should be teaching kids the right stuff, not the garbage this guy is saying, losing with class is important, wining is too!
Im bout to go find a girl and marry her..I want our boys coached by Bro.
FACTS
This is a good talk, I agreed with everything this guy said.
Just seen this👍 Thank you. If parents don’t understand what you just said, then their is a problem at home.😎
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
By no means am I a Frank Martin fan! I have officiated these types of games! Good for him!
I grew up a military brat! In little league, (military world) parents were cheerleaders …. Period! That was the 60’s! Hopefully still in control?
This is beautiful!
