Fijit out and about
United Kingdom
Приєднався 6 бер 2021
Our channel primarily revolves around the modernising of our 2005 Fiat Autotrail Apache 640se motorhome making it more off grid friendly. We will in our own "inimitable way" try to show the improvements already completed and our future plans and updates. We will also, hopefully, be showing our OUTANDABOUT adventures with FIJIT (including the built in outakes!) We have also included our first project a Chuki Teardrop caravan we built before buying Fijit and show the construction, fit out and site setup. Many of the things learnt from Bubbles have been employed in Fijit's upgrades. We had several happy adventures in Bubbles before needing more creature comforts.😁😩👍

Vlog 19 Replacing old failed Polyplastic Windows in a 2005 Autotrail motorhome.
Our windows in Fijit have failed with two imploding and exploding and the other delaminating. This video shows how I replaced the existing windows with new flat acrylic windows.
The new windows were supplied by cheshirevehiclewindows.co.uk
The black sealant used was Sikaflex EBT+
Various screws and expanding foam.
The windows are very well made and have a secure handle design and stainless steel friction stays. The internal and external frames are made from Black painted aluminium. The internal blinds are pleated with a magnetic strip allowing both blinds to be adjusted together or separately.
Thanks for watching!

First trip out and about to Lymington and some interesting vehicles. Well two anyway!
Mines going in 25 years and just started to have problems with remaining ignited, electrode allows it to remain on if it gets hot enough, I think it's a carbon build up issue in my case, giving it a good clean (with the rest of the burner) should solve it on the road, worked on my fridge of similar age
brilliant video.. thankyou. where did youu purchase your new electrode from please.
Hi Steve I bought it from Leisure Shop Direct. Truma Boiler Flame Rectification Electrode Product Ref: 237355 Truma Code : 70000-56200 Hope that helps.
That was a great video very helpful, if just to see whats in there.
Many thanks.
Very clear and helpful 'nonsense' thank you! Now its my turn to have a look under the hood on ours.
Thank you for your feedback😊 The boiler has operated faultlessly since "fixing" it 👍
10:25 It looks like the flame rectification electrode might have moved too close and wrong location. The correct positioning of the flame rectification electrode in relation to the gas burner element is crucial for proper flame sensing and ignition control. If it has moved (perhaps by the heat), it is possible to push it from the outside vent, back to its original position which is within the flame envelope.
That was probably the cause in hindsight as it has performed faultlessly since installation. Many thanks.
Hi Perry As our van is now 18 years old and definitely out of warranty, I was able to go probing!! 😂 Good luck with your warranty claim sorry I can't be of any help.
I could see much but what’s under the plastic cover , my truma is leaking stream coming out the top in its coverings can’t see what’s wrong it’s under warranty still so I can’t go probing
A great video so very helpful, now I will start to dismantle our camper van.
I'm so glad you found it useful 👍
The windows look amazing - what a difference they make! Great job Rachel & David
🙈 at least it was a bollard and a big vehicle - I scared my fiat 500 on a walk trying to squeeze past a van last week 🫣 You did a great job making it right - well done Rachel & David
Lovely footage 😊
Cheers guys💚🤗
Wow! They look fab! So much more modern and hopefully will be a little cooler inside with the windows being tinted too. You’re a lot braver than me, I don’t know if I’d want to start cutting at mine 🙈🙈😂😍😎👍🏻
Thanks for that 😅 I had to cut it about a bit due to the size of the new windows, but it all worked out OK in the end. 👍💚
@@fijitoutandabout yeah very professional 😎👍🏻
Top quality job they look great 👍 I am sure the outlook will be better for years to come. 👀🤍
@@bouydogsbus3672 Thanks for that👍Would of been easier to drill that small hole!🤔
So beautiful Scotland😀🙏
Paul, Great video! I decided I would pull mine apart, however, I am experiencing issues with separating the water section from the heater section as there are many pipes and bits in the way and I am unsure what to remove and what not to remove. Can you assist in any way please?
Hi Ian The hot/cold pipes for the water are a simple connector that you unscrew as shown in video. As long as you drain boiler down by opening the drain valve you should be OK. Gas pipe is simply undoing the connection. Apart from wiring harness there are no further pipes to remove. Our van has reasonable access and removing the boiler was straight forward. I assume the sensor that was changed was the culprit even though it looked OK. Hope this helps. After refitting the unit, make sure you have no bits leftover and get a Gas safe person to check the connection. Good luck.
A very charming moment. Brilliant. 👏💯👍🤝🏼🌼🌼🌼😉👏🤝🏼Greetings from Latvia, new friend. 🔔
Greetings from Bournemouth 🤗Thank you very much for your kind words. 😊 💚

Have u got the info of the parts as mine doing the same and need too order the parts

Hello..... Saw you parked up at Shiskine golf course Blackwaterfoot........ Was gonna come and say hello later.....but was too busy working on course...............

Where can you buy a new Chuki camper? Looked everywhere on internet with no luck
Hi. We purchased the kit from a couple of guys on ebay. I think they may have ceased trading now ☹️
@@fijitoutandabout thanks, the hunt continues then😩
Which awning is this please? Its just what I am looking for, for my teardrop. Thank you
Hi It's a Kampa Motion Air drive away awning suitable for a VW. The rear tunnel part fitted around a awning rail that I fixed to the teardrop. Cheers👍
Wow…amazing result! 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice intro, look forward to seeing what you have done 👍

Thank you. Hope to see you both and your finished van soon🤞🤗
Your talents are endless, even a stuntman 😂 Great video 👍
Many thanks. It still works by the way.........🤷♂️ My stunt work is very limited mind, due to dodgy knees and being scared of heights🥴 Cheers guys👍
You drink the same coffee as us, awesome stuff and it's caffeine free ☘🥃🤪👍 Did you find the tools to touch you up after 🤔😂
Yep, brilliant stuff made in Ireland apparently. I didn't know it was caffeine free....result👍 The tools obviously aren't working then....🤔
@@fijitoutandabout After a few special Irish sourced coffees, who care about the tools 😂👍

Where's all the cars ? lol Stoneleigh was packed in 2019 ,
Hi David, I think HS2 railway cutting through the site, Covid and general small turn outs at all the events this year hasn't helped. Still hopefully next year🤞 Thank you for subscribing🤗
