    Its hard for me to decide if it would be a good decision to cut him or not. What I would really love to see is how productive he is with a healthy D line in 2025 season, with both hutch and Za'darias smith on the ends, and alim mcniel on the interior. I think if we kept him, the line would be close to the top line in the league if not the top. But I do understand he is a big price tag, and he definitely can be replaced for cheaper on a younger gamble to possibly show better stats than him. If we do keep him I wont be upset about it.

    "he will win games he shouldn't, lost games he shouldn't, but he will never win the games he needs to."- Norm Van Brocklin on his quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, Fran Tarkenton. it has held true for tarkenton, cunningham, vick and now jackson. and before any numbskulls cry "what about Mahomes?" Mahomes is a quarterback who can run when needed. not a runner who throws passes. and the only people with the question "will lamar jackson ever win a super bowl?" on their mind are Ravens fans. the rest of football world is thinking, who will win between the teams left?

  • @richardpierce7819
    @richardpierce7819 14 днів тому

    This would be good for both teams . This upcoming draft is'nt real strong in the Qb market. Fields could learn a lot from Kirk.

    • @wildmonitor1398
      @wildmonitor1398 14 днів тому

      @richardpierce7819 Please understand (MP). Atlanta, the present time can also learn from Kirk Cousin. Now, with respect, I am going to state Kirk Cousin got an injury, but he doesn't have brain damage. He does understand what his contact states. (Gravy), how many backup QB would like to be in his shoes now. The entire leadership knows this and the owner as well. Now, for many of us who played this game, if QB Cousin is still in Atlanta on March 18, 2025. He will more than likely go through the required training with limited competition and be the starting QB and any shortfalls at the beginning of next year season he will be benched early. Now, Atlanta has another choice to play the two-headed monster. Meaning switch QB's, which opponents don't plan for both QB,s most of the time. Atlanta is not in a bad spot with KC. They have to work a little harder and come up with some different packages involving both QBs. Fixing the defense, Atlanta not only wins NFC South, they are also Super Bowl Contenders. What do you think?

    • @Footballdrive3
      @Footballdrive3 13 днів тому

      @richardpierce7819 You make an interesting point about Kirk Cousins' potential role in Atlanta and the strategic flexibility they have with him. While his experience and ability to grasp complex systems make him an asset, relying on a two-QB system could indeed create challenges for opposing defenses. However, this strategy also comes with its own risks, like disrupting offensive rhythm and chemistry. If Atlanta can shore up their defense and build creative offensive packages, they have a real shot at becoming serious contenders in the NFC South-and maybe even the Super Bowl. It all depends on how they execute and manage these variables. Great insight!

    @wildmonitor1398 15 днів тому

    Well, at the present time, Kirk Cousin has the upper hand. Please understand that the QB has a no trade clause in his contact. This means he calls the shots in this case. Atlanta Falcons has been my team for years. If he is not willing to negotiate the contract, we have the highest paid QB in the NFL for the next two years, or some other team needs a QB due to or a serious injury or whatever it may be, Kirk Cousin will have a job in Atlanta and everyone knows it. As much as I hate to say it, he is in charge at the present time. Hopefully, we can fix the defense in free agencies. This will give him some recovery time as well. Now, age don't stop, he will get older. This said, it is still a risk for another team to bite on this one. Well, Kirk Cousin is more than likely to retire as a Falcon sometime down the road if he chooses to do so. The leadership owns this one, and with his talent, you are not going to put him on the practice squad. Therefore, history shows all of us the backup QB can be a player get paid as well. Atlanta Falcons is still my team, but we own this one. As a fan, if Kirk rides this one out, I'm not going to get upset with him. He only agreed with what the leadership offered him. We have to move forward and fix the defense and think about making the playoff in the coming season. In closing, keep a good QB on the practice squad if possible for backup if needed.

    • @Footballdrive3
      @Footballdrive3 13 днів тому

      It’s clear you’re a dedicated Falcons fan, and I respect your thoughtful analysis of the situation with Kirk Cousins. You’re absolutely right-his no-trade clause gives him control over his future, which puts the Falcons in a challenging position. It’s frustrating, but at the same time, it’s a reflection of the leadership’s decision to offer such a contract. The focus on fixing the defense is spot-on. A strong defense is essential if the Falcons want to be competitive, especially as the offense adjusts to any future uncertainties. As you said, age is a factor, and while Cousins is talented, the team has to prepare for the long term. Having a solid backup QB is always a smart strategy-it’s insurance for the unexpected, and history has shown how crucial backup players can be. As a fan, your approach is commendable. Supporting the team through thick and thin is what being a true fan is all about. Hopefully, the leadership makes the right moves in free agency and the draft to set the Falcons up for playoff contention. With some smart decisions, the team could bounce back stronger. Here’s to hoping for a successful season ahead!

    • @wildmonitor1398
      @wildmonitor1398 21 годину тому

      Hello again: Richard, to your reply, I enjoyed reading your post as well. First of all, I like QB Cousin in the early post stating he has an injury, which is not related to a brain injury. The leadership knows they will deal with their decisions for a while weather they like it or not, and by now, if QB Cousin decides not to bend under pressure, this team has no choice but to repair the Defense with Free Agencies market. Now, we know you're not going to fix Atlanta Falcons Defense with only new players coming into the league. Let us be for real. Yes, we need young talent. At the same time, we need those veterans players to help those new players for a minimum of two years to establish and see results. Now, looking at the big picture, the Atlanta Falcons look good, and right now, the fans at the present time don't know who will return. I also enjoy watching (KP), playing with the Atlanta Falcons, I can be wrong, but the issue runs deeper than performance. This guy has pure talent, and a good coach can work this player in many plays on the field. Now, with that stated, the offense just needs a little tweeting depending on who's returning. Free Agencies Market: Let the (NEW) DEFENSE Coordinator select the players would be a fit for what we already have and move forward. Some players will go, and the remainder will move forward. I am compable with decisions made with DC, DL, LB, coaches select for replacements. In rebuilding a team, the Atlanta Falcons are heading definitely in the right direction. I am content with QB Cousin as backup. In the Free Agencies market, let's now make sure we have a defending practice squad to be actiavted in case of injuries. We are almost there after 7 years. I will stand by my Atlanta Falcons through thick and thin. If a cap is going to be an issue, the Free Agencies market is going to be the lifeline for at least two years. I strongly believe that if Atlanta Falcons make some smart moves in the Free Agencies market, they will be a successful team in 2025 and 2026. Hit me back and let me know what you think. From Georgia, living in Colorado.
