@@CristalO88 there’s a reference to the same being in A Thousand Suns, Vishnu, who is supposed to bring balance to the world during times of turmoil. I think Chester knew the world was inherently bad and got that tattoo as a form of symbolism. But the hesitation still bothers me, like there was something more to it.
Chester and mike were so cute together, Sean and chester were in Grey Daze together were friends for like 25 years they both must miss him so much Chester had such a big bright personality and love his tats !

he always had the most colorful tattoos. i’ve gone to his club tattoo locations almost religiously for each body mod i’ve gotten, and i’ve noticed they make sure most if not all of their tattooists can work with bright colors

This is kinda sad to watch. LP was on top of the world back then. Fort Minor was just taking off and becoming popular. This was probably about the height of their popularity. Also, did Chester look skinny or what? They come across as very normal and down to earth, even though at that time they had two massively successful albums under their belt. Finally just wanted to say it's also interesting because this time was a big change for LP. This is probably right before they started recording Minutes to Midnight which was a departure from the Nu-Metal sound, but prob my favorite record because of how honest the entire album is. Some of LP's most meaningful and emotional songs were inspired during this time. It's just kinda cool to think about, but also sad since there will be no more music like this featuring Chester. LP forever. RIP Chester.

And I want to add that the person like Chestet does not need to be severely depressed (if they were, then they would not be functioning or working), but a chronic mild depression and add stresses (eg middle age crisis, marriage problems, regret for past actions, shame) and especially what you said about feeling trapped++ and hopeless; and a person could just, just manage, to make it through the day using all their energy and being "so tired" by the end of the day-- and vulnerable -- and then add a trigger, such as a distressing phone call. This could make the person feel that there is no escape to the emotional pain, other than death.
