Hell ya, I'm a fabricator onsite and shop work, I've worn Double H steel toes for the past 13 years, definitely my lifelong boot brand!! Outlast several other brands i USED to try!
Nice ❤️
doyou do this with flux core as well?
Yes but don’t be so far out that the puddle solidifies and you go back over slag. Make sure you’re just far enough to keep that puddle molten but back fill a bit to have that seamless weld look
@@fluxngutz4667awesome sounds like I should learn to use gas
Your pop is cool and a great teacher. Are you are just adorable. Keep up the great work.
I have a question how do you measure your head for welding caps, I have an issue of always getting them too tight
Yu beautiful
Are you going to come back to make videos?
Thanks for checking in. I’m not sure yet. After moving cross country I became an engineer and haven’t been welding much n been focused on getting the new life started up. If I can find a way to keep going I absolutely will. I’ll be making an update video soon regardless. But I do miss making videos…
Can you run .052 wire ?
I am a newbee in welding. I didn't know about mixing gases manually. Good video, enjoyed watching.👍
Great video, I always wondered why you were supposed to ground a flat spot on the Tungsten, ??? Maybe you could do a video on independent Amperage Control how best to use it when welding Aluminum.. Thanks
Very cool. What was the soot from?
Does anybody make a welding cap that covers your neck AND has flaps on both sides to cover your ears? Or an extended brim that covers neck and ears?
Thanks you so much really helped 🙌🏼
You can breath better but blow out your neck vertebrae when you are required to wear these monstrosities 8+ hrs a day
Honestly when i had my miller papr id wear it for a good 5-6 hrs of an 8hr shift and never had a problem with it bugging my neck, they do a great job at balancing these tubular messes lol
Lol too funny ol black woman at the dump today leaned over and (was referring to guy ahead of us) and whispered cleanliness is next to godliness lol
But... but..the special cleaning action...man...dropping dimes and all
Is it normal to look black like that? Is it because of the helium/ being hotter?. Thanks for the vid tho..only good video I could find about DC tig for aluminum. 👍👍
I learned that a long time ago from an old timer, and have been welding for many years. I went to welding supply place to get some supplies to weld some heavy aluminum, and a fresh tank of argon. Dude at the place told I didn’t know what I was talking about and that there was no way to DC Tig weld aluminum, I took the parts in after and he didn’t believe me even when I showed him.
What ever happened to these videos?
Can you do a review of the optrel swiss air??
Idk if I want it I thought it sealed all the way around the head
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks mam
Great video. He seems well versed in welding
What’s yo email I’ll be in touch 2027
So if it doesn’t stay up every time you look down what can I do to fix this so it doesn’t fall down? The knobs seem to be as tight as they can go
Hey ya try adding another washer. I’ve had that problem on a couple different hoods. One of my buddies used teflon tape on the threads. There’s 2 options right there. Hopefully that helps if not let me know and I’ll take it apart and mess with mine to see what’s up.
What filler rod was used? Thanks

Just arrived / viewed 🙂 Enjoy the normal speaking and the lack of talking like an OD on Monster drinks. The audio quality is superb / clear.
I do industrial maintenance in a large, old broken down wastewater facility. The welding that I do ranges from Aluminum TIG on a bench to hanging like Tarzan, burning rods on rusty old junk. I’m not saying I’m cool, or awesome, or the best at anything, just sharing what works for me: I like the cheapest black plastic 2”x4” hoods money can buy. I currently have three. I’d rather spend the money on nice lenses for them then pay for brand name plastic. They are very lightweight, durable, breathable, and disposable if…. Say…. It drops in a poo tank. I have one set up with an adjustable Lincoln auto darkening lens, 1.5x cheater lens and chopped bottom for bench work. I riveted soft leather on the bottom to replace about the bottom 4” of plastic as I hate the feeling of the hard plastic on my collar bones while looking down. I have one with a Miller shade 10 auto for general inside work. One with fixed gold shade 10 for outside. I have neck problems as well and don’t like flipping my hood down so I have gotten in the habit of using the flip front more. When the clear cover lenses get dirty, I replace them . They’re only.44¢. Not saying anyone should do what I do but it works for me. And the last time I bought one they were on sale for $13!!! I’m more interested in saving for retirement and providing for my family than looking cool with an expensive hood. a.co/d/0iXzTpg
I’d hate to see what’s it’s like with a fall arrest harness and hard hat.
So my machine i bought without researching from my my Mac Tool guy, the one thats only DC tig i can tig aluminum using helium for my shielding/cooling gas.
Thank you algorithm for helping me discover a smaller channel!
Yea buddy. Very refreshing. Subbed
Great review. I love 3M stuff. I think they have an actual pack pack for that, not just the straps. Also the loose hood at the back helps to protect, I know some don't like it. Have you thought about trying the protective wrap from a TIG torch? CK Worldwide sells it in rolls, you might be able to adapt it over the hose, comes in zipper or Velcro? One more thing, looks like Speedglas is the only one that allows you to add organic vapour cartage's, great for protection form welding fumes from stainless or Ni-chrome, galvanised, etc.
If you enjoy the 9100FX, the G5-01 by Speedglas is has fully adjustable airflow in the hood its self
Just wondering if anyone has posted a care or washing video out there. Cause it's time to wash mine and I don't want it to shrink firts like a glove rn. Thanx!!😵🤢😅
honestly dude i don't know a single welder who actually watches their welding clothes
Wat tungsten you runing just the red
Very informative video thk you, don't get much vids on those subject, dc welding with aluminium 👌
This looks fun i just applied
Just stumbled across this channel, and have to say I'm really impressed. Not just the detail, but more importantly, the attitude. Can I assume you are using Zirconated tungstens for Aluminium ? Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
What about a cap 🥲
Issues with Professor Pop @4:30… A/C was ‘used’ because it CLEANED as it welded. Not sure why he says practically the opposite..🧐
🥰👍
Недавно заказал из Америки сахарный скоп😅😅😅 теперь планирую заказать новые алюминиевые крепления оголовья
Hi I am new to wearing glasses, can you tell me if you Weld with your glasses on under the hood. Just purchased the same model.
Hey there. Ya absolutely! I get all my prescription glasses that meet the safety standards to wear a safety glasses as well. Just be mindful if you are nearsighted or far sighted and the distance of your welding piece. That can distort your vision
Hope that helps. You can also get magnifying lenses to insert to your hood if needed
You are awesome ! Thx
In the “old’n” days it was called heli-arc welding for a reason. It was dc welding aluminum with helium gas. As he said using helium gas the electric arc travels across to the base metal easier (thus increasing voltage). AC current welding aluminum has a cleaning action in one half of its phase. If you look closely at most tig machines you’ll notice a diagram of the weld puddle during the different times in its phase. The dc portion will have a narrower bead face with deeper penetration, while the ac portion is a wider puddle with less penetration; adjusting the knob setting between the two is determined by the thickness of aluminum you’re welding.
Great video. Thank for the advice.
Very nice video 👍🏼 Thank you Pop and Flux.
