I decided to get the r8 over the r6ii because i like to travel with a lighter set up. I use the 35 1.8. I’ve ever had a problem with battery life with this. Granted when I shoot I turn the camera off in between shots and I only shoot when I see something I like. Therefore I’m never shooting burst mode. Battery has lasted me a full day no issues when shooting this way

hey man i really want to get this camera (R8), but im afraid because it doesn’t have IBIS and all my ef glasses doesn’t have the IS (image stabilization). and im getting a hard time doing photography in night time with my old dslr (eos 100d), so do you think the IBIS is a Dealbreaker?? cause i often shoot in low light and i rather use my iphone bcs my 100d is sucks at low light and will be blurry if i shots in low SS. Hope u answer this😊

Thanks for your attention... I'm having a problem recording in REAPER (on the computer using it as an interface) it's not recognizing the channels, Reaper finds the zoom drive, but it doesn't work, the tracks are unusable, I can't activate it... there is the solution?? thanks

I used a canon 2000D (my first camera) in a low light acrobatic circus and after processing the images where pretty good. I am thinking about getting the R7 but I am doubting it that's not going to be good enough for other things like concert.. I have some EF-S lenses so if I buy cropped I don't need to switch them all..

My Canon R8 had this problem, i don't remember which function i've changed from menu, but when it was 1/50 shutter speed, it was not changed to down - for example 1/40, or 1/20, or 1", or 5", 30", i had to set factory reset and it has been worked normally, but i couldn't know what was the problem, that i had that issue with my camera, maybe i have changed some important option from menu, i don't remember.

Prices are the same from what ive seen. All the Canon RF lenses work for R8 and R7.

Yeah, all cameras are great, and they're great for different reasons. But even so ... Some cameras are still MUCH greater than other cameras, and for a huge variety of damn good reasons.

Bro mechanical shutter also has rolling shutter effect but speed of read out is very fast in mechanical shutter as compare to electronic shutter .so pls give true knowledge

Hey, can I get a decent backround blur with the R7 and the 50mm 1.8 rf?

I've a $100 Canon 20D that takes awesome photos as my $1500 Sony A73. So is my Nikon D600 ($350USD). Most days I'm shooting with my Nikon - amazing low life photos, great autofocus, battery that lasts forever. My suggestion - buy a used full frame if you can - Canon, Nikon doesnt matter - get a couple of cheap primes and you're set for the next 10 years. I always find that technology is a hindrance when I compare it to my older cameras which is just pick up and start shooting kind of a deal.

We're definitely living in a golden age of photography, with so many amazing cameras and lenses to choose from. As a musician, I remember learning a very difficult (and expensive) lesson back in the 1980s, when I was trying to keep up with the new tech and buying everything I could get my hands on just because it was maybe 2 months newer than the "old tech". It was quite ridiculous of me, because I completely forgot the entire point, which was to make music. Now, being much older and wiser, I have some nice photography equipment (in fact, my R5 Mk II just got delivered today), and I'm generally pleased with the results I get. I know that there's no need for me to buy an R3 or R1, or a $20000 1200mm f/8, since I'm definitely not the target demographic for those things. Of course, if I won the lottery, I'm sure I'd be making some "I got it because I WANT it, not because I NEED it" purchases. But, since I don't play the lottery, I don't have to worry about that! 🙄

Not most people understand that it's the lens that makes the difference, however, where I live I know a lot of pros that have shot on the 20D, 80D, 7D all crop sensor cameras and their photos are amazing. Where I disagree with you is that the R7 is a way, way better camera than the R8. The R8 has a smaller weaker battery that can't be used when you decide to move up to a better camera like the R6 and R7, also it has no ibis so you have to rely on lens that has ibis, there's a big difference shooting with and without ibis. Full frame is good but it's also overrated and some beginners may think to have good photos they need to have a full frame camera, which is incorrect. They are professional photographers like John Branch who shoots not on full frame or crop but micro4/3 and his images are amazing.

Sorry, not all cameras are great. The difference between going from an R50 to an R8 is very costly in developing economies. The R8 here costs 2100 USD, only available paired with the shitty RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM. And that's because it is on Christmas sale, the regular price is 2480 USD.
