43:44 shes dead wrong about western imperialism dividing the Muslim world and clearly doesn't know much about the history. In the week of world war, one, large sections of the world had no government because those countries imploded under the weight of the global conflict. The mandate system was meant to stabilize these regions so that mini wars didn't erupt from groups jockeying for the land. The British envisioned two states being built out of the Ottoman lands, one large Arab one and one small Jewish one. The problem, however, was that the British wasn't the only mandate administrator, as there wasn't just one mandate in that region. The French also had a mandate that they controlled and in their mandate area various groups quickly diced up that area and presented it to the French for sign off. She can sit there and say that it's haram (sp?) all she likes, but those leaders quickly understood that if there was going to be one Arab state, the result was going to be one king or one leadership group... most likely the leader from Egypt of the Jordanian king...and everybody else was going to effectively be out in the cold. If I want to be the head of state and I know I'm not one of those two guys then I am not going to want just one Arabs state. The decision made by the French not only upset that apple cart but now a precedent has been established. Where you might have gotten the Egyptians and the Syrians etc to step aside in the name of Arab unity once several other Arab groups have set themselves up independently, there's now no way that any of the groups in the British areas we're going to step aside in favor of someone else becoming the leader. If you think about where the French were at that time, their geographic location always seems to put them in the center of all of the conflicts, so from their perspective, it makes sense for them to have quickly signed off on what they were presented by these groups so they could focus their energies on home. "You guys have this worked out? Great! Done and done!" I know this from my knowledge of that history and having read some of the historical documents pertaining to that. Beyond that, I believe those events had other indirect consequences including the situation in which the Palestinians found themselves. Maybe I'm wrong but when I look at the history, it seems to me as if one of those impacts was for the Palestinians to basically get a bit lost in the shuffle. As we see somewhat today, the Palestinians historically have this habit of being somewhat hardheaded in the sense that they want what they want, and they don't see any other moving parts and beyond this idea that it's going to be as they dictate. From the perspective of the mufti and the local militia leadership, they wanted to live in a state that controlled the holy land and they wanted to live under a Muslim majority/Muslim based society more so than necessarily wanting a Palestinian state (as evidenced by the fact that Egypt ultimately annexed Gaza, while Jordan annexed the rest). The British Meanwhile had promised that land to the Jews, and even thought most of the Arab countries that were starting to work with the British didn't like that idea, they also weren't necessarily prepared to fight over it either, particularly as long as the Palestinians were effectively willing to have that battle for them. When the land was ultimately reserved for the Jews this left the Palestinians in a situation where they really weren't part of anyone's plans, and no Muslim country was going to be claiming that area so now they had no way to achieve what they saw. Is there objective. If they had been under another country, then they would've been some control over them, but now they had nothing left, but to exist is a minority population inside of Israel and they weren't going to have that. I have never been able to find information on this, but I do question what role if any they played in recruiting people to migrate to the holy land, and join their militia, because they definitely used violence to slow and at times even stop Jewish repatriation, making the demographics unworkable

25:18 can some please write down the Hebrew words he is saying for me. This is something I didn't know and maybe someone can flush it out a bit for me. If the Romans changed the name was this to refer to Arabs coming from abroad or what? I though the philistines was a word the renamed to insult the Jews. How does this fit in? One thing I've never understood is where and when the "Palestinians" came in to play. Some Adamantly say that they are the Canaanites but they can't explain when and how of even why they would change their name. They basically try to base it on genetics but to me that only shows that the groups of Arabs calling themselves Palestinians today absorbed more of the Canaanites than the Jews did but that doesn't make either "the Canaanites." Others argue they are the real Jews who are received enlightenment and because they stayed they deserve the lands. But they aren't genetically the same and again they can't point to when they really developed. Then they say they were first because they are the phillistines which is just ridiculous because they just say that based on the names sounding the same. I'm baffled that they claim these great roots but they don't have a particular story and the Palestinian identity isn't an ethnicity so how then are they defining themselves. I especially have questions about that because again they claim these long roots but the population in Palestine was only 600,000 people. This was the last time that palestine that existed on a map so then how did the "Palestinian population" increase to nearly 1.4 million by 1948? The answer is immigration from other Arab nations. When I think of it then as the Arabs there being indigenous to the region but NOT to the holy land because they are from all over.

Those Arab Palestinians who wish to be in Israel, living as Israelis but with all their religious and legal rights, loyal to the state of Israel because they want to stay on their family land. Those Arab Palestinians who do not wish to be Israelis must be sent (with a one off resettlement subsidy) to Jordan, Lebanon or Syria, becoming full citizens of those countries. Greater Palestine was Jordan Lebanon and Southern Syria, which San Remo set out in 19222. Since the Arab Palestinians forfeited their choice back then, they are now obliged to accept one if these countries.

Hi. I love sociology and I've been interested in the Israeli-palestinian conflict and solution for the land for a few years and I started to come to the conclusion that the solution is somewhat what you describe here. Of course this is the idea of someone who has never been there so I really don't think my opinion counts whatsoever as I believe it's the people's living there to find a solution for themselves but it was super interesting for me to listen to this podcast. I'm wishing for Israelis and palestinians a future with a chance for the next generations to know peace on this land whatever the solution ✌️

A year later we see that the hatred from the Arab side prevents peace from happening. Leftist Israelis are now seeing that their view of friendship is a dream. Things will not change until 1) Palestinians stop teaching their children hate and 2) recognize Jews historical ownership of the Land of Israel. Until then Palestinians will continue to murder Jews at every chance they can.

23:25 The problem with Oslo was that the Israeli left and the international community insisted on negotiating with a partner who was both bad for Israel and bad for Palestinians. Arafat and his mafia oligarchy ended up inciting terror against Israel, brutally repressing Palestinians, and squirrelling away billions of stolen foreign aid. 23:26 Current Palestinian leadership is locked in a vicious cycle. They have no inherent legitimacy, and so are constantly susceptible to accusations of selling out Palestinians for Israeli pieces of silver and Israeli political and military support. To duck those accusations, they have to actively promote anti-Israel narratives and terrorism. The only way out is for Israel to negotiate with Palestinian leadership which doesn't need Israel to establish its legitimacy. My feeling is that in Palestinian society, youth leaders, no matter how charismatic, cannot possibly marshal the necessary legitimacy. 40:00 Look up David Collier's article "No! The Jews were not 'living happily' in Arab lands". 42:47 "the lynchings that were happening on both sides" Did you ever make a numeric comparison between how many lynchings and acts of violence were carried out on each side? 49:07 The only "evidence" that the Duma firebombing had anything to do with settlers is a confession extracted under torture. For 17 days the supposed perpetrator protested his innocence; he was then transferred to the Shabak cellars where he forthwith provided a confession. 50:03 The Duma incident was roundly condemned across Israeli society. There is no similar Palestinian public condemnation after Palestinian acts of terror. 51:00 Islam was not born in Israel. The only Islamic connection to Israel was when the Syria-based Ummayads culturally appropriated the Temple Mount into an alternate holy site when they were forbidden from making the pilgrimage to Mecca; they retconned a building constructed 70 years after Mohammed's death into "the further mosque" of the Qoran. 53:42 The problem in Gaza is fundamentally the same. You need to get the Palestinians out from under a brutally repressive terror organization which prevents any progress.

One thing is certain about him -- he is a bad man who happens to excel at the cultic aspects of Qaraite Judaism. In almost every interaction I've had with him, he was either lying to me or subtly deriding me (this is known in Hebrew slang as "Stalbet"), or both. He believed he could get away with this because I've never been part of the Qaraite Community.

Why should Arabs serve in a Jewish Army? All for what? Shoot and kill other Muslim brothers on behalf of Jews? Even if you could hypothetically create such an army, who is to say that all the Arabs/Muslims in such an army wouldn't defect en mass if made to fight against other Arabs/Muslims?

My first time listening to this podcast but won’t be the last. I have been coming to Ariel since 2016 volunteering in the English Summer School. This year was the first time that I was introduced to the Palestinian and Israeli bridging ideas/movements. As a Christian westerner this is the most hopeful experience I have had. Abood is an amazing mediator and understands the two sides!! I was also introduced to Roots. Finally I will go home with faith that this region want the peace they deserve. Don’t give up!

If we just referenced the scriptures more during these interviews we’d do much less explaining. The world thinks the chosen people of God are blessed, they were cursed. The curses are specific, the wrath is specific. Anyone claiming they’re blessed because they’re the chosen people without being redeemed by Christ the messiah is a liar. The scriptures should be the main reference point in these discussions.

The truth is addiction is the tormented psychology of an unforgiving liar. Drugs don’t cause addiction and only liars get hooked and only honesty gets freedom. The tragedy of addiction is children who revenge a childhood hurt or trauma against their parents learning from example becoming victims of themselves so as to conceal the hatred to hurt others, advertising self as victim stealing attention. The economic and social cost of the war on drugs is extreme. I have discovered the cure to addiction and i can prove my claim collapsing addiction rates when the unpublishable truth is published, impossibility possible miracle God. Liars reject the truth that is life, love, wellbeing, happiness
