This is amazing. So many beautiful instruments played well.

It's so wonderful to hear this fully arranged for orchestral instruments. The original film's budget was so low that guitarist-composer Mark Knopfler was the only "organic" musician on the score: all the rest was played on 1980s keyboard synths by his friend and Dire Straits bandmate, Guy Fletcher (once you hear it, you can't un-hear it). If you can ever find the official music video for the film's song, "Storybook Love," this is a low-key in-joke. Mark Knopfler and singer Willy DeVille are the only musicians actually playing in the video. All around the set, a bunch of symphonic musicians are sitting with their instruments, as if waiting for a cue, but they never actually get to play a single note. It's beautiful, smart, and hilarious at the same time-just like The Princess Bride.
