Another video about Kenji and how he reacts to the being in the Zoo. He has been there twice before, which we believe has made him more calm around other animals. Before the new dog bed, Kenji never used his old dog bed. Kenji's old dog bed was a chew-proof dog bed with a pillow. The bed was very great in terms of durability, because the bed was made of hard plastic, and easy to clean if he had any accidents. But Kenji never used it. I have 4 beautiful shepherds but my house looks like it snows all season don’t get me started on my clothes I never leave the house without their fur on me haha good luck to all the moms and dads out there

Raw food is the only way to go. My vet said only kibble is what dogs need. So I asked her if dogs know how to make kibble in nature... she looked at me as if I am nuts. So my pups get raw food+bone suppliment+veggies. I do not give rice as it ruins dog's teeth due to calcite building up and pushing the gums down. Instead a little bread. Beef, liver, heart, chicken feet, whole chicken, salmon with skin, fruit, and a vitamin supplement. If I hunt they get most of the deer or elk that is not processed by the butcher.I have noticed my dogs are always taller for their breed standard and not overweight and they eat as much as they want (I don't believe in having hungry dogs). Some how some vets think that they know more about what dogs should eat than dog owners.

I have light floors and can't see it but I vacuum a lot. Never got balls of hair.. but I do get lots of hair when I vacuum. My swiss shepherd is worth it.
At the time that was unfortunately the situation, but we must admit things has changed for Kenjis shedding on BARF, and even though we now have two dogs, that sheds a lot, we still have less on their new diet - a updated version will be made in their next shedding period. :-) But we agree, they are definitely worth it
I love Kenji and am convinced I we should get a Berger suisse blanc ourselves. We also live in Denmark. I have a few questions: how often do you bathe him? How long do you take him on walks? Any other recommendations you have when owning a Berger suisse blanc. Any kennel you would suggest we look at?
Hi there, to answer your questions 1) once a week because of the smell he produces after bathing in the lake (dog park), which he himself like to do, because of influence from his Labrador friends 2) minimum 30 min - 1 hour - 30 min = 2 hours on the busy days. But normally 1 hour - 2-3 hours - 30min-1 hour. When they are puppies they don’t need as much, but they do need much more when they are grown. But we see it as a good thing because then we as humans is also getting “10.000 steps” or more 😉 3) as first time owner you get all your help at raising the puppy in the dog club(we are at DKK and schæferklubben) 4) we only visited Trebons Berger Blanc and Albis Canes. But kenjis biological dad is from Made to Measure, so we probably look there or at another DKK kennel because of the guarantee (congenital diseases). But the best tip is probably to visit schæferklubben where a WSS is attending, because then you can get other dog owners experiences with the breed, what it takes - and the difficulties of having the breed 😉 they are quite similar to German shepherds in raising - but more chill to live with. Where in Denmark do you live?

Kenji is sooo cute! I watched all of your videos since my husband and I will be getting a white swiss shepherd puppy soon! Question: How did you make sure the puppy socialization was safe for Kenji before he was done with all the vaccinations (about 2 weeks after the 3rd Parvo shot)? Thanks!
In Denmark most sellers/kennels vaccinate the puppies before they’re sold/adopted or the new owners take care of it in the first couple of weeks. Thus most dogs are vaccinated, and we also asked the vet before getting kenji. She said that we’re better off getting our puppy socialized and take the little risk there is of them getting sick, than having a non-socialized puppy because you were too careful. The socialization period from 8-16 weeks is crucial and the risk is low in Denmark. We advice you to ask the vet in your country in case the risk might be different there.

No he doesn’t shed everyday - we brush him once a week now. :-)

I'm very interested in this breed, I'm wondering how they are with separation anxiety as for two days a week no one is at home, would he need to go to doggy daycare or are they ok to be left at home?
Mine hated doggy day care. She is very pack oriented and prefers to be home alone.
