The one Kitchen tool I would highly recommend to add with these meals is a simple Hand meat grinder, so you can add ground (whoever you catch) meat to the spaghetti, chili, and rice meals, these foods do need extra spice and freash garlic helps a lot, & some thick powdered milk with thickened oatmeal works well...extre cheese powder on the mac& cheesi helps also. I ate this food in the Cascade mountains over several years, and now have close to a 2 year supply, I do have faith in it. Over the other 3 companies I have tried... Good luck to you & your families, when we all have to start eating this food because we have to..

The video was quite informative. My concern was about how to prepare it -- for a single person. So, I'll have to do some math and figure out how to fix 1/4 of the mac/cheese or chicken/rice; then 1/8 of the oatmeal. When I get that figured out, you've inspired me to make a video. Thanks again.

Professional Chef advice Sir my opinion only those commercial are targeted to SCARE you and into BELIEVING the WORST IS ABOUT TO HAPPEND. Those PROCESS food have more perspectives that are design to give a person all kind of health PROBLEMS LATER ON IN LIFE. Best thing to do is invest in a GOOD back up generator so your family can eat foods that are HEALTHY, research the perservtives, take them to your doctor or a dietitian and listen to what they say and you will be AMAZE of the POISON that are in those prepackaged foods!!!

Opened it up the other day and everything appears still in tact and in good condition. - Agreed that the meal choices are not to be desired however, it will provide a source of needed calories as a last resort. We also have canned foods stocking the shelves, can garden and hunt, so I personally do not think we will ever eat the 4 Patriots meals. It was not my intention to promote them at all, was just curious and wanted to provide an avenue of information to those also curious. - God Bless

It doesn't sound like it has enough calories to be a real 72 hour kit.. In a disaster you need a lot of calories.

  • @damnhandy

As for oatmeal, you haven't lived until you tried 3-minute Steel-Cut Oats with a bit of beef bouillon powder, garlic powder, and parsley flakes. Salty Steel-cut Oats are tastier than sweet rolled oatmeal, a lot better for you any day, and we aren't children anymore. (Ramen noodle tip_ when the water starts to boil add a dollop or two of peanut butter into it. The ramen will taste just like Noodles in Sesame Sauce, and the PB adds nutrients and flavor to your bowl)

  • @damnhandy

My 72-hour 4Patriots kit was very disappointing. I got 8 servings of too sweet oatmeal in one non-cooking pouch, 4 servings of Mac&Cheese in a non-cooking pouch, 4 servings of Creamy Rice in another non-cooking pouch, and no potato soup. The food pouches do not stand up on their own, and are not resealable! You need a 2.5 quart pot to cook 8 cups of oatmeal! Would you want to eat 8 cups of oatmeal at one sitting? I sure wouldn't. For close to $40 including shipping you're better off buying some Knorr Sides pasta pouches, some pouches of Idahoan Mashed Potatoes (which do stand up on their own), a hefty lump of cheese, and some crackers. With Patriots like these, our great Nation is doomed!

I bought 4patriots 1 year supply last week and I’m so unhappy . First thing I found was there are 9 totes , with various pouches but absolutely no inventory list whatsoever. Yes there is one online but only as In Product description , NOT listing what’s in each tote , and not in any way what it should be for the price I paid !!!! There’s nothing stating what’s in each tote!!! Just pouches alone , not one tote container had anything listing products. You have to literally go thru and write down everything. Then going thru the totes I found that only about 20% of ALL packages are properly sealed !!!! When I called to ask about this , customer service stated oh that’s why we add an oxygen absorber in each pouch!!!! Excuse ME , those only last ONE YEAR, so it is FALSE ADVERTISING to say these totes have a 25 YEAR storage lifespan!!!! I’m furious!

I would like to leave a review for the food packages and their customer service first of all there's no portion control with their foods so if you're going to have stroganoff in a bug out situation you must have a way of keeping the refrigerator running otherwise the food will ruin second of all they have no customer service if you want to refund it can take up to 6 weeks to get your money back I would never recommend this company for anything their products are garbage you're better off buying freeze-dried food from High mountain country

Well, that’s nice, but shouldn’t you need to open it up when the shit hits the fan? Then, how are you going to return it during a crisis or apocalypse?

Thanks for your videos. We live in The Texas Hill Country, near Bergheim. I'm trying my hand at bag gardening, but concerned with all the critters getting into my garden. It looks like you have a high fence. We have a fence around the property, but they come in via all the trees and drop down. The deer can jump the chain length fence. Just wanted to know if critters are a problem for you? If the bag gardening works out we plan to put in raised beds. We have too much rock to try and plant in the ground.

where do you get all the big white planter buckets? and how do you fill all those beds and buckets soil is so expensive. I live where you do but can not drive so no car lol. so I order almost everything. and it gets high in price

    • @livinginthehillcountry
      @livinginthehillcountry 2 роки тому

Those "Planter Buckets" as you call them are containers filled with protein supplements like molasses, corn extract, salt ect. that ranchers put out for their cattle. Once they are licked empty they are to no use and cannot be refilled or reused. - Some ranchers are happy to get rid of them and some might even be willing to sell at a low price. - All mine came off our ranch of course. - - Yes soil can get expensive - buy in bulk if possible. It took some time on a low budget, couple of year even to get where I am now. - If unable to buy in bulk, try and buy the soil you will need next year at the end of the growing season this year. Sometimes you can catch the clearance at retailers and score big - I plan on expanding my garden area some more next year but not in the budget yet. - Good luck - God Bless

    • @livinginthehillcountry

Those white "planer buckets" as you put it are mineral containers that ranchers put out for their cattle. Once licked clean they are of no use and cannot be refilled. - They work very well in my container gardening. - Best bet is to buy soil in bulk if possible but I felt it was always too troublesome and messy and do not have the room for a truck to dump a bunch of soil and compost here in the city so I always try and wait until end of season and buy up as much left over at retailers as my budget will allow. - Good luck and happy gardening!

I also have a backyard garden it’s the start of my 3 year now but there is still so much to learn and I appreciate any tips, tricks and visual presentations you’ve provided. I looks forward to learning more from each other as we grow!

all i can say is, we ordered 2 totes plus an extra box of misc goodies. we wanted to try out the products and if we liked them we wanted to stock up for at least 2 years worth, like 2 full pallets. OH BOY WERE WE IN FOR A SURPRISE...... the totes came in covered in ants, inside the totes were full blown ants everywhere, AT LEAST 10,000 ANTS, and particles of food everywhere. IT WAS SOOO GROSS AND NASTY. every package of food covered in ants inside both totes. MY HEART SUNK. we just spent hundreds of dollars on this order, BUT I WAS DETERMINED TO MAKE IT WORK, so we literally removed each package, wiped each one off, checked each one for holes and did our best to find the damaged packs. we had ants crawling on our hands and arms and im not an ant fan but one of us was freaking out about the creepy crawlys all over her. then we cleaned the totes out, wiped them down and re packed all the food. we ended up finding 7-8 packages of food, each one with some type of hole in it and still wondered how many we missed and where did all these ants even come from. the totes, open packs and all have been sitting on a concrete floor since that day, and all the ants were killed or maybe they went on vacation idk BUT since that day we have had no ants. ITS LIKE THE ANTS WERE SHIPPED FROM THE FACTORY INSIDE THE TOTES. honestly we are grossed out at the thot of insects being all over our food and inside the packs and which ones may be ruined or spoiled bc the seals are broken and which ones may have dead ants in them. we contacted 4patriotS and from the first second were given the run around as if its standard procedure to just basically say F YOU to the customer who just spent hundreds of dollars on some emergency food. this emergency food was supposed to last for years and years and years BUT ours lasted till it got to our address covered in ants! this was a terrible mistake ordering from this company and based on how fast they responded with the BS, im wondering how many more customers got stuck with a bunch of worthless "ant filled food".
