31 Ford Truck (Henry)Update alive and well
Are you using the original oil pan.? Or an aftermarket.
“Getter done!”
I just went the same thing with my hei! I moved the motor 3/4 forward!
Nice!
Do you have any suggestions how I could do this on my modern 90s truck?
Barry I’ve never seen a axle like that ! I have a 46 ford axle that I’m going to put together! Got it took a part and sandblasted! Need to put a good coat of black paint on it!
Bought that off of a neighbor and he didn’t know what it was out of. It’s a tube axle that he picked up at a swap meet somewhere. Hope you’re doing well, keep wrenching it keeps you young!!
i totally agree about people who slag off what you do , i used to restore old british bikes triumph T90 MATCHLESS G11 ariel red hunter etc and we used to show bikes at the stafford show and you always got the armchair experts picking flies . so you ask what bikes they had and they would say my bikes waiting to be restored , [ yea right] cheers mate keep doing your own thing ,from tony in the midlands
Looks great Barry! “Cut, repair and over come!”
The passengers side door must be a chevy with the wood in the top of it! Ford did not have wood in the top of the door!
Barry hotter than a witches brew down in south Alabama! Maybe it will not be too long fall start coming! Henry got a new Frame!
Barry I’m trying to get started videoing! Bought me a new video camera! The windshield frame looks great! “Getter done!”
Thanks buddy, I still use my IPhone to do the videos, and usually just upload with no editing.
Hinge it for ventilation Barry!
lol that’s the direction I’m headed.. thinking maybe using piano hinge.
What front axle did you use under Henry?
Not really sure, I bought it off of a neighbor.
Barry I have a 31 model A Sedan with a 327 and 350 transmission!
Sounds cool rock on buddy
Barry you have Hot Rods heart! I feel the same way! I gave a 56 Chevy hood to fellow hot rodder no charge!
Thanks Barry!
You are very welcome
Like to see more on both! Have a great day!
Will do, thanks for commenting!!
How can I get a copy of the plans?
Send me your mailing address and I’ll send you a copy. My email address is barrycrabtree82@gmail.com, I don’t trust Facebook.
Yeah -------- I don't know about that --- might take them 15 - 20 minutes one day to GET THERE --------- then the next time ----- they thought they might just check out the activity in your area ----- sitting on that side road you go whipping by on ------- never know do we ------- Now ---- I got you wondering don't I ------ anyway ------ be safe -------- See you on your next one ------ Rodney
Did you run the ----- spacers ----- under the Edelbrock? ------- wonder what performance that would make ------ Do you like Quadrajets over Edelbrock? ------- Good thing to remove the rubber gas line ----- yeah ----- that is a fire hazard -------- Thank you for the video ------ Hope you have a Good Week ------------ You probably aren't into Model A's ------ But if you have a moment ---- Take a look at ---- HOW MUCH ---- this family collected over the years ------ Parts Books to look up a part or part number ------ all parts ----- organized --------- Can you imagine doing and having all that ------ to me it's just mind blowing ------ if you have a moment --- take a look -------- IRON TRAP GARAGE ---- video ----' MASSIVE NEW ENGLAND MODEL A PARTS STASH" ---------- Rodney
Never tried the spacers under the edelbrock. Yes I prefer the Quadrajet over the edelbrocks by far..
Actually I have a 31 ford truck that I’ve been working on for a while. Gonna bring it in the mix pretty soon. I love all of the old school hot rods no matter the make or model.
Looking really good
Thanks 👍
I just found your channel today. You’re doing a very cool job on your 55. I heard you mention DD Shop. I consider Dan a friend of mine. He is the reason I started my UA-cam channel (Empty Pockets Garage,James) my videos are similar to yours, I have some physical issues so my videos are not consistent as I want but I try. Once I was out for almost a year due to the physical problems I have. But sorry for the long winded comment but keep doing what you’re doing it’s awesome.
Thanks ! Great video !
Glad you liked it!
Thanks Barry ------- Your set-up -- makes the assembly come down ----without any wobble ----- looks good and solid --------- being electric ---- you must have your battery tucked in the trunk ------ I didn't see it up front ---- If the battery ever got low ----- couldn't into the hood since it was all bolted together ------ I would want to have my bumper attached too ------ a big mass of steel ---- much more than yours -------- the electric actuators are almost a MUST ------- that's a lot of metal to lift ------ maybe the massive bumper ---- on the outside of the pivot point would help being a counterbalance ------- it's like you said ------ One step at a time ------ Well ---- Thank you for showing it in operation ------ to make things easier ------ it should be done ------ Thanks Again and hope you have a Good Week ------- Rodney
Thanks so much, yes battery is in the trunk area. Let me know if you need any more videos I have no problem uploading them. The hard part is uploading something people are interested in . Have a great day and thanks again for subscribing!!
I just came across your video today ----- saw the backend ----- and I had to take a look ----- '55 Chev ---- I have '56 Pontiacs ---- cars are similar ------ It looks pretty good ---- will go back and get caught up on what you have been doing to her ----- I will see what I can find out about how you made your Tilt Front End ---- I'm not so young anymore ---- and climbing up in there ---- just isn't what I want to do ----- you know it's not just my age --- am on the short side too -------- So ---- your car is looking pretty good ------ a good start ----- Signed on as a Subscriber for you ----- Hope you have a Good 4th of July ---- maybe get in a BBQ -- Rodney
Hey thanks for the compliments and for subscribing!! I have more detail on the tilt front end in my earlier videos. If there’s something you want to see let me know I can upload whatever you need to see.
No see ! No hear! Hope all well?
I would like to see that work but I as well am terrible with this video stuff ! Take your time sir
My first hot rod is a 31 model a sedan ! Find it when i was 17 ! I work on it off and on! Still a long ways off from being a driver!
I away wanted a 55 Chevy! Finally at 67 I bought me a 4 door! I’m going for a daily driver! Building a Stock 350 with a 700r4 transmission. My car will need floor pans! Buy them as can afford! Keep shooting videos!
Was that 1/2 solid round rod? I used 3/8 and pretty much did what you did except I flaired it out a bit so that my large tires didn't stick out past the body too much.
Yes it was 1/2” solid round rod
Ohhh wait it's a 55!
It’s on a 96 caprice frame
So what chassis is under that 57!? 😮
Looks like my shop in Northern CA before selling my home and business..owned a bevy of tri fives over the years..bracket racers and old school gassers and daily drivers. Sold a 57 Nomad and made a down on a new home build in Las Vegas. Brought the 56 150 Chevy utiliy that delivered phone books to my home growing up..bought it from the shop that seviced it since new and it is sitting in my garage to this day. Keep up the cause!
I got a 56 on a 95 impala frame the wheel base on 56 is 115 and impala was 117 and it looked funny so i moved rearend foward almost 2 in i dont no wy i didnt split the differents from the statrt
I hear ya on that one, I think sometimes we are just so excited to get started we over look things. I know that’s what I did in this instance..lol
I no Tennessee and GA were i lived is chevy country
Good old American no how thanks for sharing your talents Doug
Show a little bit on the how to on the other quarter plz
Will do, I’ll be uploading again on this Friday.
Its all good
Keep it up got luck with your channel I'm subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
You don't see many '58 on the road as a hot rod. I think it's doable considering what you've done so far..
We may just give it a try!!
It is so real, I like your talk.
Good job
That intro had me 😂😂
Thank You so much!!
Love it
Thanks Cuz, I was slightly nervous..lol
