    Saying drilling for a useless is an insane take when repetition drills motor functions and pattern recognition into the brain. Anything else Souders claims is the ecological approach to bjj is lipstick on a pig, a salesman approach to rename a thing already being done for profit.

    "I would have to see a class" ok so you haven't bothered to do the bare minimum of research into what you have these strong opinions on? Its all online, readily available. You're just guessing and looking stupid. I know it's a hot term to generate clicks but you just googled it. Lazy. Do yourself a favor and at least watch a few videos of classes. If you're feeling ambitious read a book.

    It'd be really cool to see Tom and Kit debate this. They're both champs in their own right, but they have totally different views on the Eco approach. I wonder if Tom actually disagrees with it completely or if there are parts he might agree with. This could make for a really interesting and balanced discussion.

      @@BJJBalance i just think he's taken the time to study a scientific approach to training. He just doesnt know how to bridge the gap and describe it in laymen terms which he clearly says during the debate. Clearly something he is doing is working. Like Eddie Bravo says "Look into it" !!

      @@BJJBalance yeah i hear you, but can always look it up-FC Barcelona, one of the world’s biggest soccer clubs, uses this approach. While it’s relatively new to BJJ, time will tell how effective it is. However, if you consider other sports as proof, the evidence is already out there.

    So you clearly do not understand what ecological cla actually is you don’t understand what invariants actually are or how they arise, why tf would you weigh in on something you don’t understand. “We’ve seen this before, with 10th planet” dude wtf are you even talking about, 10th planet uses dead drilling just like everyone else, ecological is a science based approach to constraint based training with a theoretical framework to describe how humans acquire skill, by direct interaction with the performance environment, and the theoretical framework explains inavariants and variants, and describes what they are and how they happen and how we interact with them. Sooo plz stop acting like you know things you don’t.

    Anyone teaching w any success has already applied the ‘constraint method’ to their curriculum , even if it’s not what they are calling it that. Saunders is selling his curricula to coaches .. personally I think it has its place but is incomplete as a method on its own .

    • @rstlr01
      @rstlr01 3 дні тому

      I agree that it’s incomplete, throw me as a former wrestler into an ecological gym, and I could probably find my own success. Basic ideas, concepts of weight, center of gravity, and pressure. You take your average Joe just getting into the sport and it is gonna be an absolutely miserable mess of an experience. Every wrestling practice and now BJJ has had drills, followed by the ecological approach of playing from that position. There was absolutely no debate, I felt like I was watching the BJJ version of the music man salesman…..

    Craig said he wanted to grow the sport with CJI, is it just me or does it seem like it’s been 4 months since CJI and pro jiu jitsu has kind of stalled out? I’d say CJI has actually done the opposite of growing the sport. If bjj wants to grow there needs to be high quality events with match ups of consequence every other weekend. I remember ten years ago when UFC was only doing shows twice a month and when they were going on it was a big deal. Once a month or once a year isn’t going to cut it. Also team stuff isn’t going to do it either people want to see one person holding up the bag at the end. Also it’s funny that Craig bagged on ADCC for paying guys back door deals to show and it sounds like he did that with Buchecha.

    • @rstlr01
      @rstlr01 29 днів тому

      You’re really acting like Craig really would stand for morally for anything other than making those paywalls look like fools. bagging on them for back door deals and doing the exact same thing as the most Craig Jones thing I’ve ever heard😂 ADCC ain’t got anything going right now so pay to play Mr. CJI will do what he wants to do….

    • @BJJBalance
      @BJJBalance 29 днів тому

      It’s gonna take big money to get jujutsu events of the highest caliber happening on a monthly basis and it isn’t going to happen overnight. Craig is going to have to show proof that he can capture lightning in a bottle. Once he does this a few times, investors may trust enough to put their money into CJI. I’m old enough to remember when you receive. It’s only happened a few times a year at best. It also sounds like the UFC is getting into the grappling event game by way of signing Mikey. Dean even said he planned on doing a grappling based reality show. This is gonna take some time to get off the ground. You’re gonna need to learn a little patience.

    • @Recordman69
      @Recordman69 28 днів тому

      @@BJJBalance I’ll be patient for sure but will the casual grappling fan, the non grappling mma fan or the general public be? Also what will it look like when it does happen? We’ve already decided that grappling fans want to see high quality grappling events that are FREE, and that’s not what UFC or even Bellator did or does and even One FC you need Amazon Prime which is more expensive than Flo per month. Doing an even once a month it’s going to be very difficult to get the average Joe to watch, it could happen but it’ll take a miracle. MMA had a leg up on grappling with its similarity to boxing and has a sheer violence factor. Truthfully I never cared for it but I think Eddie doing combat jiu jitsu was closer to getting an audience then straight grappling which many times unless you really know what’s going on isn’t super compelling. I hope he can do it but i fear at some point it’ll cost the fans some money to watch and they’ll turn on him too.

    • @BJJBalance
      @BJJBalance 27 днів тому

      I get your point but CJI isn’t gonna be that frequent. That could be where a PGF comes into play. They plan on doing three, possibly four seasons this year. As the popularity grows, so will the frequency of quality events. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

    Some men are designed to keep watch in the morning some are wired for the night shift. Its ancestral. We had to keep the fire 🔥going

      @@BJJBalance and I’m an early riser and have been working nights for almost 20 years now. I was on my way to an open roll and then you guys start talking about being a better father and better husband. I had to turn around and go home and prep for the kids new year party instead. Now you guys are my conscience……

    I’m a Carlson Gracie black belt and a working dad. When I run into crazy guys that want to turn class rolls into a fight, I tell them so sign up for tournaments. If those guys want to test themselves there are plenty of tournaments where they can sign up to test themselves.

      Well said. But that counts and is in front of an audience and most aren’t willing to be that vulnerable

    My wife loves my cauliflower ear. We also have a 110lb blue belt female with it, but that's because she's a savage and rolls with heavy dudes at 0430.

    I tore my distal bicep while kickboxing, and my biggest concern was whether I could keep training. I got the official diagnosis about three weeks later, but by then surgery was too risky (you typically have about four weeks to get it done). I skipped surgery, and two years later, I’m training harder than ever, including BJJ. It looks a little funky-like an injury trophy-but no big deal. Honestly, I think I would’ve torn it again if I’d had surgery. I don’t worry about it, and I’m training more than ever now. That's just my experience!

      It's the grips. Sometimes you get smacked or accidentally smack someone trying to get a good collar tie which will cause a fight if the someone has low self control.
