Thank you so much for this! I am working up to taking out the front diff so I can replace the oil pan. I think I might just remove the 4 bolts to the LBJ to remove the CV axles, so I don't have to deal with pulling out the UBJ and the tie-rod end. Then the whole knuckle should swing to the side enough to get the CV axle out. I can say both the tie-rod end and UBJ come out pretty easy with a pittman arm puller. And to protect the threads on any of these things - thread the nut on upside down and flush with the end before you push or hammer on it. Works for the end of the axles, too.
