Rocky Ford. 60 years ago I would ride my bicycle a few miles to fish there when they weren't letting water out of Tuttle. Came in on the other side and walk down some rickety, wooden stairs and walk out on that flat at the base of the falls. Just a bit of water coming over in a couple places. The crappie and white bass would be stacked up right at my feet. Minnows trapped in potholes in the flat for the grabbin'. Aberdeen hook, a split-shot and a bobber... heaven for a 10 year old. For my money, they ruined it when they poured in those concrete walkways and such. But then, that entire part of town, downstream from the lake, is ruined with all the development.
