This really resonates with me. Thank you for sharing this. It’s fun to listen to Matthew McConaughey say “My hero is me in 10 years… this way I’ll never catch up to my hero”. However, in practice this can become very overwhelming. If you’re constantly pushing the bar farther, yes people around you will say, “wow you’re so hard working, you’ve achieved so much, I wish I was like you” but in your head, you know how much it sucks. It’d be much better and easier to appreciate how far you’ve made in life. Appreciate the little things, I get to wake up, walk, eat, and sleep peacefully. Would 16 year old Fahmeed be proud of fahmeed now? Most definitely! It would be a bit confusing to explain life didn’t turn out how you planned it out as a child but the journey was more interesting since it wasn’t exactly how it was planned. As you said, it would’ve been boring.
