Approaching a TS turntable smokebox first - press'G' (as you say) to align the "road". If approaching in reverse (tender (or bunker) first), it's SHIFT-G. Treat the turntable like points (turnouts). Once on the turntable, 'G' turns it one way, Shift-G turns it in the opposite direction. You're clearly using the Carlisle-Stranraer route here. Have you tried to turn a 'Clan 4-6-2' on the Stranraer table? It's just not big enough. I discovered that you can substitute the Darlington turntable from the Wear Valley route, and the 'Clan', as well as a 9F 2-10-0 present no size problems.
