This is an emissions smog pump. This is how they pass emissions testing . It it's n good you need to replace it...and because it's emissions tested by the state , it's illegal t not have one in your car. When this air pump fails your car will lack the idle speed and revs including shifting issues , so why would u delete it? If it's for racing purposes, then that's what this video should be about, not trying to set the Christmas lights on the dash...and that's what a secondary air pump does if it's no good or deleted. Ruining the car and breaking the law...Pretty much!

I did it on a 318i and made an simulator to trick the ECU the pump is still there. I still have the schematic for the simulator somewhere. If somebody is interested I can send it.
