Hi John, thank You for your Feedback. I’m not not really deep into this, but tried it now on iOS 1.1.3. In the FS1R you can define a Voice Control Set with Source (PAT) and Destination (S. 30 in the German Bedienungsanleitung). I’ve chosen Acid King: IO22 Source: VC1: PAT: on Destination: VC1:= LFO1 Speed The result: it does something.. but I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ what exactly .. at least some signal chaos arrives.. ? I guess the fs1r has 1 aftertouch signal going on all keys What Sounds and Voice Control Sets would be best to check aftertouch?

@@dachiklangmusik Thanks for your thoughts and info, I appreciate it! 😎👍 My knowledge and use of the FS1R is embarrassingly limited and poor since I just use it occasionally with the presets. I have a really large modular synths so all of my creative sound design patching efforts go to the modular and I turn to the FS1R and a couple other poly synths when I just want to play some music with nice sounds. 😅☺ You might want to update your Osmose to the latest 2.0.18 firmware because they added some nice features since 1.1.3, although I haven't taken the time to update mine yet. Of particular interest: External MIDI Mode Enhancements: - Added MPE arpeggiator - Added Pressure-weighted Portamento (Press Glide) - Added possibility to save custom MIDI configuration presets - Also Many System Improvements: - Many Internal Sound Engine improvements - Sensors' initialization and sanity checks - Added option to restore last loaded preset upon startup - Many bug fixes

I didn't try that yet.. I do not even save the patches actually.. I really just explore all possibilites und function to get more expertise in creating the sound. There are so many interdependecies between the mod-wheels.. I am actually more in the try-and-error modus than production mode. I even don't know wheter all parameters can be translated to midi-record. Anyway I have no Midi-Interface to do that at the moment..

The Controller was built by Robert Skerjanc. He just produced 8-10 items (as far as I know). You got almost all parameters under your hands. But it’s still very complex to understand parameter changes and effects on sound. It’s massive, almost unlimited, what you can do with it. It’s more riding a wild tiger than softly build a house (additive vs subtractive Synthesis). Really lucky to have one.. thanks for your comment.. really appreciate it 🙏

@@dachiklangmusik 🙂 Bis ich begriffen hatte wie FM Synthese funktioniert hat ewig gedauert. Damals hatte ich ein Yamaha DX 11.

@@mann-vom-mond mich treibt etwas das Gerücht um, dass FM nur gut für Glockenklänge, Pads und glasige Sounds sei.. darum versuche ich, Acid-Klänge und dreckige Sounds zu generieren. FM kann sehr mächtige, äusserst komplexe Soundflächen generieren. Aber zielgenau von null auf einen spezifischen Klang hin arbeiten, davon ich noch weit davon entfernt.. 🎛️🧐🥰🫣🤔😌

@@dachiklangmusik Den DX 11 hatte ich mir damals eigentlich wegen der Bass Sounds geholt. Der konnte aber eigentlich jede Art von Klang. Zu der Zeit hatte ich aber auch einen Casio CZ 5000 den ich mehr für die Flächigen Sounds verwendet habe. Der Casio war für Bass Sounds eher nicht zu gebrauchen. Aber die Yamaha DX... Synths haben alle Arten von Sounds gekonnt. Die Theorie hinter der FM Synthese ist ja das man jeden Sound aus einer endlichen Anzahl von Sinus Wellen herstellen kann.

The FS1R offers FS (Formant Shape), FM Synthesis and additionally offers "FSeqs": Formant Sequences. They "amplify" and give kind of "structure" to the formants. The formants are generated with max. 8 voiced and 8 unvoiced operators (OP). So basically the tonality of the "voice" is dependent from how you generate die sound based on these 16 OPs. The Preset "Choir" offers a good starting point to play with the FSeq. The Fseq are presets. As far as I know, you can´t program custom FSeq. From the Owners Manual p.10: "In addition to envelope generator, LFO1, velocity, and manual control, the FS1R features a range of 90 preset FSeqs (Formant Sequences) which can be used to “sequence” the formants to produce voice-like phrases, rhythm loops, and more. FSeqs are sequences of formant frequency, fundamental pitch, and level data which have been created by analyzing the formant content of actual sounds. FSeq playback speed can be set at a fixed value, controlled via a MIDI clock signal, varied by note velocity (e.g. keyboard dynamics) or varied manually when the “scratch” Fseq mode is selected. And since the sound of formants is not pitch dependent, FSeq playback speed and pitch can be varied over an extremely wide range without altering the basic timbre of the sound (something that even the best samplers cannot do). Fseqs actually have 8 “tracks”, each of which contains the frequency and level data for one operator pair (voiced and unvoiced). Normally, the Fseq tracks are assigned to the corresponding operator pair, but these assignments can be changed for special effects.. Hi @kuphser , this controller was built by Robert Skerjanc and this is his prototype, used in the promotional videos. I was lucky to get it by ordering. He built about 5 controllers but stopped it due several reasons (time/costs). It’s incredibly deep in its modulation opportunities, almost unpredictable in the output if you change the parameters OP1-8, voiced, unvoiced, the algorithms, the formant sequence, the FM knobs and Filter.. etc.. Hi, sorry for confusion by using the word „sample“.. here it means a demo or example of a internal sound (preset). I am not yet experienced in feeding the Waldorf with external sounds to use it as a sampler 👍
