What you mention is also done by good people, just with another intention. So, the question is rather "how do I detect someone's intentions?" As in, I might unconsciously impress someone giving me the power to make him do stuff. If you don't abuse this power, there is nothing wrong. Also, you didn't force him to look up to you.

So sad that i observed some of these disturbing behaviours in every single person i have ever met.And everyone think they can fool you with fake love,emotions,stories. Great trick that they use ,is to tell you truth about anything that is easily verifyable.And then this words follow: "i never lie,you can ask so and so"When something is difficult to verify they lie about nearly anything to make sure you understand how "victimised" they were and still is.If you ask around,you realise they were far from victims- actually the opposite.And can they get angry if you just dared to look sceptical!!!!

Point #1 is WAY WAY WAY off track. I have a number of friends I don't see regularly, but when we do see or talk to each other, there's always a profound connection where both of us feel the connection. These are the people I share things with that I wouldn't share with most people, and vice versa. I'm sorry too many people, including the producers of this video, confuse regular communication as being a sign of true friendship. Some of the people I see regularly are people I don't connect with at a deep level, but they're the people who help me and I help them in small ways. It's more of a social thing like being a good neighbor and offering help to each other if needed, but they're not people I would confide in when I'm going through a tough time. Both sets of people are friends even though they don't meet the criteria outlined in this video. They each play different roles in my life. This video is doing a massive disservice by promoting unrealistic expectations that "real" friends meet us on every level. Because every individual is such a complex mixture of experiences, emotions, interests and expectations, there isn't anyone on the planet who could possibly meet us on all levels. That's why it's important to have a variety of friends. Perpetuating the myth that there's even one person on the planet who totally "gets" us is at the root of why so many people are alone and cannot find or keep intimate partners. Just because someone doesn't "get" us at some level does not make them a "fake" friend.

During divorce process in 2006 i found that i did not have friends but only fake ones. Thst was my biggest and most painful realisation. The same with some of my family including my kids. Literally i was alone with only support of my father and my twin brother. That made me get big strength in my life.

I had to cut someone off because every conversation was about her, her job, her kids, her man, her life, her problems. When we did talk about me for 5 minutes there was never any follow up. How was your Dr appointment, how did that problem turn out at work, nothing. And when i pointed it out she told me i was "trippin" but she never became a better friend or friend to me. She needed to talk everyday for at least 3 hours taking up too much of my time. It was like i was just a sounding board for her life. I treated her to a trip to Las Vegas. I paid for the flight, hotel and all the entertainment and she never bought me a meal. Oh, what a great friend.

Come to 'Superficial Canada you'll find 'Fake Friends' everywhere I would say beside Hollywood this place is The World Capital of Fake Friends' LOL! Been here over 40 years and been used by most everyone but no more!
