Something must happend to his voice since 2020. All his videos here on youtube since 2020 sound worrying.

What a dismantling since 2015, when his first album Heroique came out! It makes me sad to hear him in some youtube videos from 2020 and 2021. The voice is ruined. So sad!

What a production, what a performance. Talk of star cast! Hymel was almost equal to John Vickers in the same role. No mean feast.

I went to that performance, and he was totally stunning. His voice cut through the chorus without strain and he totally KILLLED the final aria!!!

I heard Hymel this morning as Aeneas and I've been listening to all of his videos. I am hooked. His is without question a major voice. He reminds me of Vickers and for me, that is the highest compliment possible. Bravo! At 33, what a great future in opera.

I heard Hymel today as Aeneas on the Met broadcast of Les Troyens. What a fabulous singer. He is thrilling.

Re the dislikes - I have found that opera NUTZ for one singer or another, go around disliking all the other ones. Is why UA-cam likes and dislikes are meaningless.

Fantastic Tenor! Great singing! Committed acting!!! Might have a chance!!!!! :-) Actually, the skies the limit for this young tenor who seems to have his head squarely planted on his shoulders and who knows how to surround himself with the right people to help him to the pinnacle of the opera world! I for one would pay big bucks to hear him live...and that is really not something I would say too often! Best of luck to him for continued success and growth!
