Is Adobe Super Resolution Good Or Garbage?
A bit late to the party, but is Adobe Super Resolution worth using or should you use Gigapixel AI (or should you avoid upscaling software altogether).

Are UV Filters Useful Or Useless?

Blue Ridge Landscape Photography in the Snow

I travel to and photograph Cole Mountain in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains in the snow! It was quite an ordeal to reach the top, and absolutely freezing once up there. Passing The Torch In Togo

Sharon Sedzro was born 3 months premature, and weighed less than 4lb (2kg). The doctors told her mother that she would only live if they relied on God. She lived and was later the catalyst that brought about a children's camp ministry that missionaries from the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism had tried to start over ten years earlier. Interesting that this video was released three years ago. Perhaps the 7D2 was such a great camera that it always will be good three years from now 🤔
@kristianvrum8979 well to be honest, if upscaling technology continues to improve as tech does, it might be a solid camera for years to come - especially if you don't do video
Omg this vid is cringe & informative, I kinda feel that Nostalgic feeling of the 7d whereas the year of the vid whole in 2024🤔 & the title aswell as the intro makes it seem futuristic, cringe 😬 & factual aswell!👍👍
Lmao I have no idea if this is a compliment or an insult, but hilarious comment
@@bfunphoto I ♥️ this video you did, it's just very interesting, well you could either refer it to as complementary or Futuristic anyone😊, the video looked like it was in 2024..👌
Use one for weather sealing personally, never noticed any difference on image quality. But then I'm not selling pictures for billboards or anything.
Sorry Buddy, I use them as I have to protect my gear as well, as I do not get camera bags that saids the brand name cameras. and that I do not like shooters that have not read ANY Photobooks thinking that they know stuff, as I been doing photography since 1973, and last you are abit overexposing on your face when you did this video, in which tells me about you showing your technique on lighting. And Yes I do understand in shooting scenes as I ALWAYS have UV Filters on my Vintage Manual Focus Nikkor, and Zeiss Lenses, and my AF Nikkor Lenses as when working at the camera store that i have seen people complaining of why my shots are not sharp, and they show us the lenses, and i would see an Un filter lens as the front element with Finger prints, Scratches, Residue Finger Oil, and sometimes a small leaf, and a Dead Small Bug. As explaining to the person that chances that the COATING of the lens will be damage as nothing protecting it, So I clean the his lens carefully, and selling him a filter, and also a lens cleaning kit with a Hurricane Air Blower. That is the Best Insurance to have for your lens. As you want to protect your investment onto your gear, Then Filter them. As if the Customer does not want a filter, and leaves his or hers lenses unprotected, Then you pay now in lens repairs, So you pay now or pay later. Remember your lens is your investment. As my filters are Hoya from Japan, and also Tiffen filters USA. I will never get those China's Knockoffs for filters. Also I do not see ANY difference when I place a filter on my lenses... Must be that bad coffee, and streaming that everyone is doing, as for me, that I will continue to photograph with a FILTER... So to all you shooters that are watching these shooters saying to you do not a filter, make sure that you send them the bill for the repairs that you will see on your lenses as the coatings of the front element is coming off. Tuff as that is my Opinion...
did you seriously just change the title of an old video so it gets more clicks?
@savannah7075 Yes. Its a pretty normal practice that you'll notice if you look out for it
lol blame the cat for your camera damage!😂
Thanks. No doubt a filter provides protection. Unfortunately even using B&W filters the image degradation is clearly visible using a high resolution camera like Z8 and god optics, in perticular when using longer lenses.
You left out one reason to leave the filter on... You are going to need to clean your front element from time to time... Wear does occur and mistakes ARE made from time to time, when cleaning the element... I would much prefer to have that mistake happen to a $30.00(or even $120.00) filter than the lens... It probably does not matter as much to someone with an interchangeable lens camera, but as I no longer have room to have more than one camera or lens, I have to settle for a Panasonic Lumix FZ2500 with a fixed lens... If that gets damaged, I am out of business... So protecting the one none removable lens is a priority to me...
Great camera but the lack of wifi/bluetooth is very annoying!
There is a cheap SD adaptor for that, just search for Canon W-E1.
3:30 The 7d mark ii has multiple exposure
3:37 duude blow off the dust first T.T
Eeewwwwww, that R6 sensor totally exposed to dust 😢
Yeah, it's not something I'd normally do, but I thought it'd make for better B Roll, and it can always be cleaned.
Do you not know the one whole side of your face is completely fuckin blown out. If your a camera guy in any way, this should have bothered you and should have corrected it with one of the 5 ways you should know how to. Looks like shit man.
still tho, UV filters are alright if you get the super multi coated ones and make sure your glass is as clean as possible, if you like them use them, just take the photos you like
I respect the fact that it issues 10 frames per second. The obstacle view finder seems to be 98 %i didn't buy it. I bought the 80D This video probably too old for you to even read the comment, but at the same time I'm gonna leave one. You did a great job explaining it to me. I see, it has a fixed screen instead of the touchscreen on my 80D has but I only get 7 fps in raw. You get 10, and my view finder is 100% view
Probably best reason to use a filter is so you dont have to clean dirt/ dust or water droplets off your actual camera lens. Every-time you clean glass you will leave micro scratches
Words taken right out of my mouth. I have multiple cameras, 10 lens, I wouldn’t look to justify taking on the damage test. 😅
Hi thanks for your experience with this camera. I still use my 7D Mark ll. Iv got a lot of grate photos with mine and still are. It past the time when a Mark lll would have been released then I heard Canon wasn’t releasing one when the mirrorless came on the seen. I’m looking at them but still taking grate shots with the 7Dll. I have the battery grip with mine and find it easier to hold. When I photograph people I usually use one of my external flashguns in the hot shoe for fill light. Lens I have a 24-70, 70-200 2.8 IS L, 100mm Macro IS L and a Tamron 150-600. Right now I’m not what mirrorless I will by from Canon but the guys at the camera shop where I go said I will still be able to use most lens, they all can be used on full frame body’s to.
That is correct, you can use the EF and EF-S lenses, but you'll have to get the Canon lens adapter
I absolutely agree with your video, I use a 70D for years and a few months ago I purchased a 7DII from eBay and the 7DII is quite the upgrade. I use the 7DII mainly for backyard birding. I also have the 6D and 5Ds and the 5Ds is my landscape camera. If and when I get a mirrorless camera it'll be the R7 not because it's crop body but for the IBIS since Canon doesn't sell a full frame crop body I can afford.
That's fair. They're so dang expensive. I used my covid stimulus check to afford one
Great video!
Thanks!!
Great video I enjoyed this a lot, I have subbed!
Sometimes there's a clearer tipping point in favour of the filter or not. For example, I'm loving my little 33mm lens after using my big(ish) 16-55 for so long. And I love how the 33mm tucks so safely to my side after such a long time trying to stop my 16-55 swinging and bumping into things. So I feel great having a nice tough Hoya Nano 2 lens filter on my 33mm, rather than a sticky-outy lens hood flapping around. (I'll still use its hood sometimes, but it's so nice and compact without it).
I sure hope it's still viable! Just today I sent my beloved 7D to KEH and should be receiving my Mark II on Tuesday. I'm like a kid counting down the days to Christmas!
Great ending ! 🤣
Thanks!
Thanks!
If UV filters are useless on a camera then they wouldnt have invented them and made them.
Subscription added you mentioned church a few times, and that is what I will probably be using it for. I'm starting meetings soon but on a budget and may or may not use it for video. But anyway, it is better than using my A71 Samsung as that is what I am filming on, editing, and posting to UA-cam. Great video and funny, very entertaining, and informative 👏
Thanks! It'll definitely get the job done. I used it for my church for years!
I believe the R6 line is the true replacement for the 7D MK II. The R7 is more like the 90D series replacement.
Using high ISO on this camera is not too big of a deal, if you are using a fast lens (large aperture). And it's really awesome for sports photography.
The point is if you have fast lens, ISO will not have to be high. High ISO gives similar results regardless of other settings
If ISO is high, it doesn't really matter what lens you have...
Hear me out. I loved the 7d mk2 all the way to buying some good glass,8 batteries and being that convident to even go on professional shootings with it. However the dynamic range and sensor quality didn t impress me at all,my 1300d shot better in low light than the 7d mk2...maybe i had a bad copy or some kind of deffective sensor but the quality was not there..
That’s is good For sport photography right?
Yes that was what the camera was really designed for!
Superb analysis. Many thanks. 😊
Thanks!
I bought MCUV filter from kase, anyway I feel more protective for my camera haha.
So you came to Togo ?when was that ?
That was in 2016!
@@bfunphoto Happy to know that ! I'm from there
@morel anthony Oh cool! It is a beautiful country with lots of great people!
nice explanation, i use uv filter just to protec my lens.
These type of videos are so stupid and only aim toward people who know nothing about using great lenses. Stop making other people dumber by encouraging newer bodies right out of the gate.
Ayyyyyy what’s up Lynchburg
It’s not the dropping i’m usually worried about. I’ve had lenses personally get smashed by something striking them (cstands and other gear).
This is a good explanation of the pros and the cons. I've always used a UV filter just for the protection. There's something about having the front lens element in pristine condition that only a filter can ensure, after years. If the filter gets scratched, it's not an issue. However, for those times when I don't want to wonder if the filter is impacting image quality, I just take it off for the shoot, and then put it on again after. As you said, it's all an individual choice.
My choice is a B+W UV-Haze filters because of the fact they are manufactured from German Shott Glass. Bar none the best and clearest Nano glass available for filters by B+W and Hoya. They have the best light transmission factors of any brand on the market. We don't need to debate UV effectiveness, since I have said the choice is based on using the clearest glass available on the market in front of my lenses. So light transmissibility factor will be at its highest with filters manufactured from Shott Glass. You will see no degradation of images as you would with cheaper filters. In some cases you need to be sure you are using a Chinese counterfeit that has a glass element that is only plastic. Plus you seem to forget there are still some Purist out in the world that shoot film still. I recently (two days ago) had my Nikon 28-70 f:2.8 roll onto the floor when on packing it, and yes there was damage. The filter's glass shattered from a two foot drop. If you own this lens you already know its front heavy as all hell. Needless to say there was no damage to my lens whatsoever. Also, if you are buy glass filters, or for the matter fake glass filters with no coatings you are presenting problems for yourself...
Sea salt, sand, metal dust in the air may be a concern. If the filter ring get knock sideway it can easily crack and potentially damage the front lens more easily. Clear or UV filter does degrade image of any lens with focal length above 150mm upwards. UV filters are getting more expensive these days.
Yeah they definitely have their place!
Camera is brilliant. I had its older brother. The Mk.2 gives the Dual Pixel AF on live view. The 7D is amazing. I have a 6D and a 1D mk.4. That is a beast. I want a 7D mk.2 for its speed. Airshow, and the 1.6x multiplier. The 5D is better than the 7D in video. A couple episodes of House were shot on a 5D. I use a dedicated pro camcorder, no over heating, no time limits. Most of my cameras I buy used. Every camera has its virtues, and limitations. Would love a 7D mk. 2 with battery grip. But with the 1D mk.4 I have, I really can't justify it. A used 1DX would be great. The APS- H sensor of the 1D mk.4 is pretty good in low light, but a full framer with fast glass is my weapon of choice there. I have shot all kinds of cameras. So I am not beholden to any one make, but Canon is my heavy big guns. EF glass is so reasonable. Though L glass is very spendy while great. I found a 7D mk. 2 for around $400-ish but just not ready to plunge into that since the 1D mk.4 is doing so well. Cheers.
i use this 7D with a macro canon 100 mm. it is a joy
Just brought a 7Dii off of ebay for $400. Plan to use it for outdoor sports. I have a 5Dii that I use for landscapes and I love the images it makes. For video I use my iPhone.
7d vs a7 ii… I might go for sony
I just picked up a 7D Mark II today to replace my Rebel T5 starter camera. I outgrew it too quickly and needed something a little more potent, and for the price, the 7D kills it in comparison. I got mine used from a local camera shop, it has some scuffs but overall it’s in fantastic condition. Just over 1,000 shutter count. So far I’m loving it.
I'm in a similar situation. Is it easy to change the settings on the 7D, are there dials or how do you do it? Does the screen pop out and tilt? I am concerned about it being twice as heavy. I'm going to keep trying to find the answers to my questions and watch some more videos, but if you have any tips...
Wow, 1k shutter count is incredible
A7S has only 12Mp so it's useful
How about D90? Is it any better, for wildlife ?
I enjoyed your take on this highly controversial topic. Thanks!
Good information 👍
Just picked up the 7D Mark ll this week used with 4600 clicks on it for sports and wildlife. It came with a 55-250 mm canon IS lens for $550. Also have a 7D!
Nice! I'm sure you'll love it
Where can I get 7D for $550?
If it helps at all, I too have dropped a camera with a 24-70 lens on it, it was on concrete. I tried over a cord that went from the camera to the strobe attached to tripod. It spun off the desk, and landed on the ground. I cant say the UV filter had helped, but i can say nothing broke. So it is something I use. I do agree, the lens hood will help as well. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed your video so I subbed you as well. Keep up the fun videos. There is a young man who is on UA-cam as well, he dropped a 24-70 f2, the new large one, it broke part of the threads off his lens,? Makes me wonder had it had a filter on the front if the threads may still be intact? Again, good job on this video. Dale
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words :)
