A lovely cycle run over the Forth Road Bridge, through Hopetoun Estate, along the south shore of the Forth, Blackness Castle, super waterside cycle route to Bo'ness, stop for refreshments at Cafe in the station of Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway, up through Kinneil Estate, picnic by a lochan, cycle atop the Roman Antonine Wall and up to a panoramic vista across the whole Forth estuary.

Days 3 morning in Kirkcudbright, harbour walk, Broughton House, old town alleyways and quaint houses. Day 4 for D&G leaving Solway View Campsite, then home via Palnackie, Kippford and Rockliffe and delightful tea gardens.

Day 2 and travel in motorhome to Galloway and Wigtownshire. Visit Wigtown, then Garlieston and Isle of Whithorn. Return via Whithorn and stop at Gatehouse of Fleet for dinner. Evening exploration of Brighouse Bay, near our campsite at Solway View, Borgue.

Lovely autumnal walk from Crieff to Comrie. Lady Mary's Walk alongside the River Earn, then cross country on old lanes and lastly walking the old trackbed of the former Crieff and Comrie railway.
Fife Pilgrim Way Ceres to St Andrews

Good stage of Fife Pilgrim Way, mostly on old rights of way and only a short but tricky stage on a road with no footpath. Lost the route after Denhead entering the Scottish Golf grounds but then into Craigtoun Park which is always a delight and a great feature of the area. One of the two starting points for the Fife Pilgrim Way, the other being Culross. Pass some interesting history in North Queensferry, Inverkeithing and then Dunfermline. Disappointing section that runs for some distance, on the paved footpath by the A985 with heavy traffic and fumes therefore. Much more country and woodland than you might expect when skirting the town of Glenrothes! Over the hill from Kinglassie, following the River Leven through GlenrothesTown Park, then across the top of Glenrothes into beautiful Balbirnie Country Park and arriving at historic Markinch. Did this section the other way round, for the convenience of transport to the startpoint. Lochore is such a great asset to Fife with its accessible pathways, good parking, visitor and watersports centres and toilets. From Lochore to Auchterderran was nice but thereafter, not the best part of the Pilgrim Way. A long stretch of this section is simply on the paved footpath of the B921 which is fairly busy with fast traffic. My dear Dad was a child evacuee to a farm in Dunning during WWII. Thanks for this. I was booked to visit in 2020 but of course couldn't travel. Haven't been able to coordinate a trip since, much more expensive from Australia now. Really appreciate this.
