Photos and videos taken with mobile phones can be very difficult, if not impossible, for a court to authenticate. This means that many of the images of atrocities that you see online will not lead to justice. As a non-governmental organisation, eyeWitness to Atrocities (eyeWitness) solves this problem by collaborating with human rights defenders around the world to capture and use verifiable photos and videos. As well as providing partners with our verifiable eyeWitness to Atrocities camera app and links to key investigative bodies such as the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, we also offer partnerships. These partnerships can include documentation training, technical support, legal report drafting, and footage retrieval. All these services are free. By combining law with technology, eyeWitness ensures that images are not only verifiable, but that they can be used to hold perpetrators accountable in courts of law.
