First Flights - DJI Mavic Mini 2

Spent the day at a local RV park to try out the new toy. Very first time I've ever flown a drone. Some stupid engineering and technology in these things. They almost fly themselves.

Off track at Road Atlanta couple weeks ago. Into a gravel pit at 60-70mph. The video is in the playlist. Bent me up pretty good. Sore and a few bruises. Going over the damage to the bike in this video.
8-21-21 Road Atlanta - Crash
Переглядів 973 роки тому
First time at Road Atlanta. Ran out of skill and the survival instincts kicked in. I've been riding motorcycles for years and many of my off track excursions follow the same theme. My mind says to fast for the corner. Stand the bike up and bail instead of laying the bike over and trying to power through it. I've done it several times on track and this is the first time going down. An expensive ...

Putting in an outdoor shower that I've had for months. It will come in hand since I don't have a shower inside the rig yet. Especially at the track to cool off.

One of my favorite KY roads. US 32 near Morehead KY. This footage is actually coming back into Morehead. New camera. GoPro Hero 7 and mounted on the helmet for a change. Gives you a little bit better perspective on the ride. Wind noise is terrible. Enjoy the ride.

This session resulted in a coach hunting me down in the pits afterward to coach me on my bad lines. Can't disagree. I put myself into an uncomfortable pass on a bad line then swung out to get back on line afterward. I should have maintained my line and got around the corner. He also stated he followed me afterward and said all my lines were bad. Can't say I agree with that.

Just putting this video up to showcase a new bike and unknown rider. I drop a text in the video when he goes around me. I think he went by me in every session this weekend. The new Aprilia RS 660. Impressed the hell our of me. All passes he made on me and I saw were clean no muss and beautifully smooth. Great riding and Kudos too him.

Overcast, cool and drizzle made for a slow warmup. Had a nice rear slide under throttle that I mark in the video. This section plays havok with traction on this bike. Had some fun battles with the one hole machines. Horsepower eventually won out. Settled down and feel I made some solid laps in this session. Nailed a few lines when alone.

Greetings from Western KY!. Checked out your review because I'm looking to consolidate my bikes to get one "all arounder". I have a HDXR1200 and a 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander. I was thinking a Multistrata just because it seemed to be able to satisfy my long distance needs and also put a smile on my face on the twisties. I see a few on my radar from 2010-2016 range from 4900-8000. Would you recommend this year? Some are saying to avoid the older ones and get a 2016 and above due to longer service intervals. Any input is appreciated!
Recently sold it and kind of regret it. I would recommend the 10 model to anyone. Some reviews I read back then said the handling went south in newer models? Dunno. The service interval is a valid concern. If you can't do it yourself the cost would be prohibitive.
@@rogerhundley9490 That's what in line as to what I was thinking. I have my eyes on a 2016 but recently considering a Hyperstrata so I can tour and carve. Thoughs? BTW, where are you in KY?
Can you please send the link where did you buy the stuff? Thank you.
Prepare yourself for the desmo rape. Im actually doing mine myself. Its quite a nightmare. But 2300 bucks every 15k miles is beyond unreasonable so I took the plunge.
"....when you're out with your girlfriend or your wife...." Ok, but what do I do if I want to take both? Who sleeps on the floor (certainly not me)? Maybe I'll just have to make the bed bigger 🤔....
Very nicely done. Looks great
Thanks
how tall is the opening
Interior is 7ft. I’m 6’3” and clear it. The door frame is somewhere between those two heights,
I have a '13 multistrada which I don't intend to change for anything at all. Have grown really fond of the bike, bought it just over 3 years ago. Done about 25 thousand km so far, very little to complain about in all of that time. I did have to do a couple mods on the bike to solve some problems it had when I got it, biggest one was installing a tuneboy ECU programmer and tweak the engine maps. That made a big difference. Bottom line is I have never enjoyed a bike this much. There might be better bikes out there, and I just don't care.
Any leaking issues with the roof top AC?
None so far.
Personally I'd lower it and raise it on a hand crank...
That so just too much work
Very nice -- cheers
Where did you get the flat metal frame under the mattress?
Amazon. This is the description. “Zinus Gulzar Easy Assembly Quick Lock 1.6 Inch Bunkie Board / Bed Slat Replacement, Queen, Black”
@@rogerhundley9490 Thanks so much I was getting everything but that back from my searches ;) It's perfect.
They make a device that hooks up to your air conditioner that will allow the pull less power to start up, that you can add, I saw another video I can't remember the name of it but maybe you can do research and then you can run your AC without Shore power
Did you do all of the electric work with setting up the inverter and the solar controllers? That's such an incredible setup and I wonder and someone It's very little experience could replicate it. Thanks again for sharing!
Hi. Thank you. I did do all the wiring. I’m not a electrician but I’ve worked and interested in electrical projects my whole life. I wouldn’t recommend a novice tackle this.
Luckily there wasn't a wall immediately to run into but hope everything's okay!
Thank you. All is well.
I really like this, thanks for posting. I think a lot of people forget the advantages of simplistic design.
Na too much work!!!
What size trailer is it?? I been searching his other videos and seems to never mention. Thanks
16 x 7 - 7 ft ceiling
Instead of hooks why don't you install four hydraulic shocks?, you would only need the hooks wen you bring the bed down. I did a design for that type of situation.
Great approx weight of bed ?top heavy for trailer?
maybe 200#? No issues with anything after about a year and about 2000 miles of travel
Have you thought about putting a window in an insert in the back door- like a separate wood wall that has a door and window in it? Then you don’t have to cut any other holes in it. Maybe you already did and didn’t make a video.
I have seen examples of what you speak of. If the trailer weren't so purposed too hauling motorcycles I would consider that. I will eventually just put the windows in it.
That diesel tank needs to be outside, fumes and smell every time you fill up stay in the trailer for a long time. Trust me I’m telling you because of my experience, also with the a/c you just need to install a soft start so you can run it with your inverter but of course you’ll need more panels and more batteries , specifically lifepo4 ones.
Have had black vehicles since the 70s...They look good only when they are clean.. good on you.
Nice bed video!! Made mine slightly different but yours definitely is done well! Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing!
Are you kidding me?....I'm lost for words.
Yup., it happens. As long as you're ok, the bike can be fixed. When I encounter those moments of pucker, I try to remind myself that the bike can do it!! The track looks like it'd be a whole-lotta fun.
That Multi is sweet. Pretty sure the snatchy throttle can be addressed via an ECU update. No cat and no center stand, ...full exhaust? If it (ecu) hasn't been flashed then it should, but you probably already know that. The BMW is a fine machine. How do your wrists do while riding? This old man can't ride those any more! Thanks for the vid and the ride! -cheers
Nice aerial footage. This video makes me feel as if I were flying over there! Thank you for sharing this amazing video!
Excellent build. Would like to see the list of electrical equipment items , and how they all are wired. Looks really well done!
Thanks. Yeah there is a lot of work in the electrical system. A lot of hours just researching it. I do need too draw up a wiring diagram. Just for trouble shooting. It is complicated but found most of the info online.
nice build - efficient and economical - we are doing ours now as well, im working currently on my water system, shower water containment etc.
thanks for the info
Can a suv like an Infiniti QX60 pull this trailer?
Check it’s rated towing capacity. Need 7000 lb.
i have the same bike. bought in 2013 with 6K; now 51K. did the 45K service in March. the rear shock went out after 2 weeks I got it. Ducati gave me the shock and also had to replace the ecu. then the tank expanded and Ducati replaced the tank. fork seals replaced. i have it set at the hardest setting; 2 up with luggage for best handling. thinking about the new v4 but i'll wait for the 17" front and single sided swing arm when they release it.
Nice ride! I just snagged one of these. It is FILTHY but it only has 1000 miles on it. I plan on giving it a long bath and then trying it out. Thanks for the video
I wonder if you could mount the J hooks upside down so the release is below the bedframe? It would change the bed height levels.
You could flip the j hook. They wouldn't work well then. The frame wouldn't be captured in the J. Could cut some up and re-weld them to adjust the release point.
@@rogerhundley9490 you could notch the wood. That'd keep it from moving front to back. Can't tell if it would fall off side to side.
Can't hear you
This is a great idea for those wanting to have a raising and lowering bed but aren't wanting to have to find a way to power a bed lift. It definitely would be easier if it were two people raising the bed up or down rather than just one though.
correct looks like alot of work for 1 person, I just made 2 fold down wall beds still room for 2 snowmobiles side x side one another
Wake me up when it’s down! Lol thanks for sharing
You should mount your fire extinguisher near the exit door... when you get to it, turn to look at the fire... you have the option to exit...
Good plan but I would have to add pulleys and a wench to make it useable for me. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet looking set up
That did the trick! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
Roger dag gummit why didn't you wash and wax that trailer before you made this video? LOL nice set up you have going for you.
This will fix your problems. It run rich from the factory. Which is why your spark arrestor is clogged up. I'd leave the arrestor off and change out the main jet. It'll run clean and smooth. I'm at sea level and mine still ran rich. This fixed it. www.vpowerequipment.com/high-altitude-kit-fits-all-predator-212cc-engines/
thanks Derek !! 🤠👍
Cool
Nicely done.
Get a local a/c guy to install a "hard start" capacitor to your a/c unit and it will start just fine. Mine cost me $40.
what mattress are you using?
It is a traditional 8 in coil spring mattress. I do plan on trying a foam mattress.
