I bought a 4500 for about $175 when my Sansui 9090db went down to tide me over. Good little receiver. Still use it.
@@hippydippy that’s a good price for $175 don’t let go of that Sansui 9090 db it’s a very good receiver
You ...ing repeated yourself 8 times kid. You don't know wtf your doing bozo... don't even know what tge parts are called...
It's called a reel you ...ong bozo...
I need that album, his daughter sings on that song, she is a absolutely beautiful singer
Yes indeed the father and daughter is amazing good album
Complicated as far as sounds go. Who is the best, no really best, all have sligtly different sound signature. Sansui really has a great velvet sound and non fatiguing, listen forever and never tire out of it. Marantz has power, seems more bass and punch a heavy and darker sound, it is a good thing too.......but the Sansui is sweet and detailed and clear.......I have both. I think the two receivers that are total opposites are Yamaha------Marantz. The Pioneer, Sansui, HK, and others fall in the middle. The 4300 is 53 pounds
I totally agree with you i have marantz 4430 and it sounds a lot of bass heavy sounds compare to Sansui,Sansui sounds so refine and so clear like you said you’ll never get tired listening all day and the other thing I don’t like about marantz it’s so heavy very heavy to carry.Marantz is about the price it’s expensive is hell and I don’t see the vintage looks specially the 4430 I have,I really like my Sansui QR-4500 sounds so amazing and the vintage looks is there is not boring to look at but I still like marantz tho
Wow that Sansui is nice man. U got a new sub 😊👍 some great content I wanna go thru on here, and thanks for popping into my channel ❤
Thanks subscribe my channel too 👍🏻
OLD STUFF ITS THE BEST NO MATER WHAT BRAND ONLY OLD IT'S GOLD .
So true '1970s stuff it's the best
Absolutely right 💯 percent
It’s just like cars! The new stuff is extremely hard to repair. It’s a throw away society
Your 100 percent right todays cars too much computers and when those computers start acting up they’re very expensive to fix look at those hundai cars not even five years computers breaking down already now you have to replace the whole computer and that cost a lot of money if you don’t have warranty anymore
Modern speakers image and soundstage better than vintage.
Vintage over Modern!
Absolutely vintage can last for years and years and years and modern receivers can last less than ten years and it will break,The only modern will last for a long long time if you spend thousands of thousands of dollars
Now days SANSUI AND AKAI Kills all brands SANSUI AKAI ARE KINGS OF TECH .
@@luanhana2100 Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@luanhana2100 People Go For Marantz Because Of The Brand And The Price And Those marantz fanatics they believe that people will think they have money cos they have marantz.A lot of stereos out there with different brands sounds great!!!
@@VintageStereoCollector YOU ARE RIGHT THEY GO FOR MONEY MORE THAN SOUND DO YOU BAY SOUND OR LOOK . THERE MANY BRANDS THAT'S SOUND BETTER . THAN THEY PUT HIGHER I DON'T MENTION WHICH BRANDS . BUT THERE HIDDEN YET TO DISCOVER LIKE YOU SAYS THERE ARE MORE TO DISCOVER .
What's better, a 1982 BMW, or a 2024 BMW? Different performance and much better technology with the 2024. Vintage should be restored for a more fair comparison.
what a beauty! That's an amazing shop!
Yes it is lots of vintage stuff ❤
where's the midrange on the 4430?
None marantz is unique lol 😂
@@VintageStereoCollector any idea on the 2275 if 2 prs of 8 ohm spkrs are connected the 2275 sees 4 ohms load & supplies approx 100 wpc?
I have been a stereohead since putting the particleboard speakers to my Zenith 3 in 1 combo on the floor to my bedroom facing towards each other and putting my pillow in between them to fall asleep to when I was 10 years old, many decades ago. Stereos have always been the centerpiece to my entertainment system. I now live on the Gulf Coast Of Florida and the Goodwills, pawnshops and yard sales are a gold mine of vintage stereo equipment. I have enough equipment to open a couple of Vintage Stereo Stores. I can't help myself. All this premium gear I used to drool over and only dream of owning, now for pennies on the dollar. It's so fun.
Just a lovely sound. Thank you !
You sold a Marantz for a Sansui? That doesn't seem like a step up to me.
Watch the video again and look at the marantz smaller than the Sansui.I like the vintage looks and the Sansui QR-4500 is powerful,I’m not trying to step up and i don’t wanna to impress people that I pay a lot of money for that marantz and to show off to people that I have a lot of money.I don’t care about the money sometimes to me it’s about what makes me happy That’s All!!!
I would say he actually made a big improvement in quality and musicality, Sansui amps from the 70s have this warm and very musical sound, i’m a happy owner of an AU-555a and an AU-666, with just 25wpc and 35wpc respectively and they punch way above their wattage, Marantz is also very very good, but a Sansui amplifier from the 70s is unbeatable, try one! Cheers from Italy
Modern 'no user serviceable parts'. Vintage "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' "
Modern is computerized and once it brace it cost money to fix it labor and parts is expensive
had all of those, at one time i had 32 pairs of speakers, every marantz. i kept my YS audio audio concerto tubes phono and symphonies + JBL 150, audio concepts Orchids and my fav Norman Labs M7 the best of them driven by a Hafler 280xl. just bought a pair of Yamaha n600a speakers for the soundstage and they are equal to my Normans. i have a bogen 62/L70 tt and just got another i am setting up as a mono/78 system. had macs and are garbage gave them away
Your a big collector
@@VintageStereoCollector at one time yes. i have about 8k now and given many to family and friends.
I wull put my 119 pd 16 grand technics SE-R1 up against the new macintosh.
Technics is good too they last long for a long time and like I said always a lot of different brands even their not expensive like McIntosh marantz Sansui Luxman accuphase etc.still can be sound good!
Hey Vintage do you have vintage stereo addiction too? :)
I buy and sell and a collector too yeah I have addiction but I let go a lot of my stereos already sold them and those cheap once I donated them too many already lol 😂
@VintageStereoCollector cool :) acceptance is a good thing
My stereo(s) are all paid for, all bought with cash. Vintage is a PITA. There is great new stereo gear that won't break the bank.
Beautiul set up in my opinion you dont need the equalizer
learn a few things before you comment.
@@northhankspin😂
@@northhankspinHe said IN HIS OPINION. That "said," I would love to be able to hook up a graphic equalizer to my more modern Onkyo 8555; unfortunately, these newer amps and receivers aren't coming with tape 2 loops/monitors. I really miss the sound of the smiley face curve.....
@@northhankspinGet one of this Sansui so you’ll know about the sounds,It’s Massive and it’s not always about marantz cos it’s expensive I could careless about the money I care about what makes me happy!!!!
@@MikeMargolis-j8f an EQ compensates for room deficiencies and also with various tracks that are weak on some parts of the spectrum.. What kind of opinion is yours without that knowledge? you dont know what your talking about.
Are you setting up a Quadraphonic system? Were you going more for looks or power with the Sansui? I own a QRX7001 myself, which I use in Quad.
Maybe I set it up but I always go for the looks and the sounds
I think that the difference is that Vintage Hi-FI are a joy for your eyes and your ears whereas modern hi-fi are just for your ears 😂😂🤣🤣
People by those hi-fi because it’s very expensive looking and when people have those hi-fi modern stereo people know he has money.Today people goes for the price like that stereo so expensive I pay $3500 for that receiver it’s about the price but for sure a lot of vintage stereos will sounds amazing the Sansui G-3700 the Sansui-G-3900 the sansui 9090-DB will blast your ears for sure 👍🏻
This is where stereo equipment and records go to die.
Chill their not going to die it is what it is when you have too many stuff
Stop treating your collection like garbage and stack components correctly and not on their sides so the vinyl wrap doesn’t get scratched. I could watch your video because clearly you don’t give a shit about your gear so why would I care what you think about it?
The more he hoards ,the higher the price of mine .Barley keeps up with inflation now -storage- repair
I know what you mean but when your a collector meaning you have a lot of stuff you ended up putting them everywhere because too many but don’t worry I will fix them up and organize it!!!!
Nice video ❤
Happy new Year man!!!!!!!!! 😀😀 (You better put those records nicely... the sooner you do it the better it is...)
Hey guys
OK, so you can get some cheap Chinese made amps and some over-achieving speakers. Hi-Fi is alive, but has it lost its soul? I'd have to say it has in many ways as the vintage stuff arouses feelings and emotions the new stuff just doesn't. Whenever new stuff that is "heritage" comes out it is often at ridiculously high prices. It isn't the same. Newbies don't aspire for the stuff and the old farts like me know you can find the vintage stuff at sometimes very attractive prices. So, can I call out to the industry that calls itself consumer electronics. We want stuff that is first, good value, and second stuff that isn't cold and without any nods to the really amazing stuff of the 60's , 70's and even 80's. Everything now looks like 2000's computer nerds design it and if it doesn't it's priced so high it's irrelevant. Someone wake up and give us something we'll treasure for many years.
There are some vintage speakers that are *REALLY* well engineered, and sound better than some modern equivalents. Examples: A/D/S, KEF, Infinity, B&W.
Moist
Jimi Hendrix used Marshall amps, so your headphones MUST be good..............
There is enough time allotted in life to be able to enjoy both old and new. There are no absolutes in hobbies that involve art. I still have my SA-8500 Pioneer from the mid '70s. It's been completely rebuilt. I don't use it all the time. I know it's on borrowed time. Not so much the electronic components or circuit boards, but the analog pots. Those have to be painstakingly taken apart and cleaned correctly and then you are left with worn, albeit clean, parts. This has me not using the controls as much as I need to sometimes. I also still use my turntable from the early '80s, and have the first CD player I bought around 1985. The trick is, to listen enough to enjoy both old and new. This is how we create the legacy vintage gear of tomorrow. I have vintage gear from the '70s-Y2k-ish. The better things made around Y2k are now vintage. I have class D amps that if they last, will definitely have a vintage appeal, to me at least, and I won't have to be gouged by some vintage hi-fi flipper to get it. I have two AVRs from around Y2k that I cherish for the beasts that they are and now they are used for 2 channel duties. I have speakers I built 8 years ago that use woofers that are still manufactured the way they were decades ago. Same materials, as well. The design is also not very new, other than tuned to the point of being relatively flat. But those big paper woofers and the compression driver just screams vintage, but with whole life yet ahead of it.
Nice looking receivers! 👍
Wow 😁
If you were trying to show us the price tag of the Marantz SR2000, why would you hold it upside down, cover up the price with your thumb, then say 198 when that was the year of the unit (1980)? All we could see was $20THUMB
The stuff was made to be desirable in the 70s, and it's still desirable. No big mystery
song name?
I'm no "audiophile" but I can't assume that someone who records their videos inside of shipping containers really cares that much about audio quality in the first place.
LOL, good one!
Anybody who is going to watch this video has a 95% chance of clicking on it because they are audiophile. And here you are making a case to buy expensive new equipment because you just assaulted their ears with your choice of a sound stage for your video.
Why does this video have so much loud annoying background noise making it very hard to hear what you are saying. Surely you can find a quiet place to record.
Can you imagine the nerve of this guy?… As an older man who worked hard and made a nice living, I can enjoy my equipment and retire! What a concept 🤣🤣🤣
Sound is horrible Hard to hear your voice
It is all a question of choice. You can pay as much as you want for good audio, and you will find it. The key is best bang for the buck. The CheapAudioMan has some good stuff. You can setup a nice mini system for less than $650! Just need to do the research. I saw some awesome monoblocks on a high end $1.5 Million system, just a paultry $199K for a pair. There are some hidden gems, but just know what you want.
Hi very interesting video The key component in a 2 ways is obviuosly the woofer It is difficult to understand its quality without taking it out Then the magnet and coil size the sound of the cone can provide some informations There are out there quite good units But most of them are unkown Then all other parts can be replaced if broken with not much money But the good woofers cost a lot
You don't have to pay thousands of dollars to get high quality sound. Once you retire and you get old (like me ) you enjoy the hobby even more. Why do you "collect" vintage stuff ? People buy thousands of records which cost a fortune and play them on a $300 cheap record player. I buy equipment to own, not to sell. When i was young i bought what i could afford and i was happy with it. Back then Hi Fi was a serious hobby. Back then everything was cash or bank cheque only. I think you should mind your own business and let people do what they want to do.
Agree 100 percent. The older I get the more I enjoy it. 👍
Money money money, money. More money. Burp!
lol 😂
Let me see if I e got this right. You want them to sell you their stuff at your price because they shouldn’t have it because they are old? Really? If I was selling you anything I would Jack up the price. My opinion!
