Peace to the Heggs!
Hi ya my alu cab will be fitted soon, I now have the 400watt ecoflow fold out solar panel to go with my ecoflow delta 2 max and I will have a 400 watt solar panel on the roof as well as the alternator/battery charger. I am not having any propane for my trip as a lot of countries have totally different connections so I will be totally reliant on the delta 2 max. Thank you for this follow up video and I look forward to any updates you have for the future
Have a wonderful trip! We will Follow along and see where you go!
Why the channel name change?
are you anywhere N Cali San jose area ? i’m curious how you rate this compared to a GFC OR TOPO MESA wedge style
I am in so cal. We were just up in Monterey! Do you ever go to central Cali? I got pismo on my next trip end of month
so how are the camper lights etc wired to the ecoflow? is there a panel in-between the all cab camper lighting and the ecoflow?
The solar is directly into the EcoFlow (the camper has +\- wires down into the camper). And the rest of the wires (in a prewired harness) are going to a fuse panel - which is powered by a harness we made and powered by the EcoFlow.
@@WhatTheHegg thank you...Good to know as I am getting my alu cab soon and I'm using ecoflow delta 2 max as my power source for a Global trip
What a great review! Do you think it can be used during 90f weather in the summer? Also may we install the camper the opposite way, like open from right to left with awning on the passenger side? Thank you!
The camper will work in 90F (we actually did summer camping) but I have to say - heat is always rough bc it tests your overall endurance. The awning does great in heat - you can tell the temp difference. We run fans inside the camper bed platform at night. It helps cool. But the campers insulated sides really keeps the warmth in. If you don’t have bugs outside, you can open all 3 windows and mesh. If you have bugs - it’s a little rough. Be hot or get bit. I have seen people flip the door - the handle to open will Just be at the top of the door. You can switch the awning and shower - don’t quote me (check with the dealer) but I believe it will use the hardware from the AluCab Khaya? And the shower can be switched too. I’ve seen it done but you might not get the tree deflector. It was something to that extent. Hope this helps!
Great trip, Looking forward to the next!
I have a alucab canopy with taco, where did you get storage units ? I like it
Is this dikes on bikes??
🥰🥰🥰 missing camping with you guys
It’s not jacking unless there’s a healthy fear of death
I need this!
Yesss!!!
but can u use it as a winch in a worse case scenario
What brand is the light bar and how you have it installed on the animas roof rack do you have any videos about it
I have Diode Dynamics SS5 CrossLink 7-Pod LED Light Bar (One) - the 7 light fits the Animas light bar wind fairing cut out. I will get the install video out as soon as I can 😊
Currently testing one of these same units and comparing to a new comer and our 100ah battery box with redarc. One thing I'm surprised about is how little ah these units have.
Hence the ability to recharge to 100% by the end of the day plays big importance
Nice camper buildout. 😎
We are so grateful for a beautiful interior! Thank you for addressing all our build needs with this custom layout that accommodates the battery and fridge! ❤we love it
That’s what she said
😂😂😂 brandon said there’s a lot of those opportunities in this video 😂😂😂
Subbed, sister! #yotafam #asianfam 😁
Thanks for a great vid!! Such an awesome rig! Please, some questions: -What is the gray item with the flat top and handle on the side, in the back, on the right side opposite of the frig? -What toilet did you opt for? -If you were to build another rig, would you go for a larger bed, like a Tundra, for more space? Happy trails!!
Hey! The flat grey top with handle is our EcoFlow Delta 2 Max - we decided to go with a portable battery system. I can do a whole video on how and why. We got our toilet at REI. It’s the Go Anywhere (briefcase cassette style) - we use it in conjunction with the AluCab Shower Cube for privacy. *using the bathroom inside the camper is up to you and how comfortable you are with your travel partner. When solo - it really is use as you need! If we were to do this build again - I would opt for a Long Bed 6’ Tacoma. As much as we want a Tundra - the full size truck would make it a little more challenging for some locations - limiting our reach. ****but for my 6’5” fiance - it would mean he gets some more room!!! The top tip for picking a rig - is HOW MUCH SPACE we didn’t think about. Every square ft does matter. Hope this helps!
Estou assistindo do Brasil Parabéns...
May I ask if you know how much weight is on your Tacoma, also going 60 mph on a straight road, what is your mpg? Thanks
How much does this weigh and what did you have to do to suspension etc? Thanks for a great video
I put the rig on a scale the other day - but it was a pre-loaded weight (empty water tank, empty fridge, no bags packed for 2 people, no extra drinking water, outside fireplace, extra propane…) it came in at totaling 6,520lbs. Suspension currently, Kings 2.0, SPC UCAs, ToyoTires Open Country 295/17, Rays 05x (5 wheels) and a body mount chop (BMC), *OME Heavy / 800lbs - which they are flat at the moment **I will be glad to do a video on suspension - I have actually gone through 2 sets of leafs and going to upgrade once again.
@@WhatTheHegg I would love to see that video - as the extra weight on the back would have an impact on the suspension. I did upgrade my brakes with the plan of getting a camper on top but wasn't sure what to do about the suspension.
Do you run the fridge on the portable power in the Tacoma
I could do donuts like that in the Sand In my Subaru brat in 1978. and it didnt break!
Great video . Thanks
Great work on the video🤙🏼
Thank you 🙌
I'm considering getting an alucab canopy camper, just wondering how comfortable it is sleeping 2 people up there? Thanks!
We absolutely love our canopy camper. The best part is you can make it as simple or as accessorized as you like. It fits two up top perfectly! I am 5’1” and my fiance is 6’6” and he can sleep comfortably on his back. We can even leave the hatch open when the Dickinson Heater is on - for the heat to come up to the top. We sleep with a bed topper, down comforter and 2 pillows each. And it all fits in the sleeping area - without having to remove any of it between trips.
@@WhatTheHegg thanks!
Great walk thru of your build, btw I met you at the Toyota meet in San Diego back in November last year. I had just got my alucab a few months before that meet so it was pretty bare at the time. I still need to contact Al to get a build out for the rear storage. The alucab totally blacks out the sun and I have definitely woken up when it’s super bright out already 😂😂😂
@sponsoredbywifey - game changing interior
Nice review thanks for sharing 👍👍
My Gladiator with the ACCC weighs 7200 using the Clayton 2 1/2” HD Overlanding suspension working fine
Keep the axle from dropping before lifting. Use a ratchet strap to stop suspension travel and you’re golden
I noticed you folks are from Cali. I am from Cali also. Can you tell us where you purchased your Alu Cab camper? Great video!🤙
We got ours at TinyRig Co in Westminster, CA
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing… how do you feel having that in the back has affected your off-road capabilities and do you know what it all weighs with the cool interior you made? Thx John
The weight on the back with interior has effected the Leaf pack - we currently have OME Heavy but they are flat (aka maxed) - so we are upgrading and want to have atleast a 1000-1200lb capable set. As for off-roading, we’re doing easy to moderate trails - and it’s definitely a base camp now. We have a 4Runner that does all the wheeling and off-roading. The overall weight, I will and need to go get it weighted. I would love to know where that number is now. 😂
Thanks for the info… my goal is to try to build something that can “wheel” and be my camp…. Not a full on wheeler but good stuff to get me where I want to go : ) have a nice day…
Hello… another quick question… do you know if you can stand on the roof when it is down? Thank you…
Hello, great car. Can you tell me the manufacturer of the folding table under the Frontrunner kitchen or the source of supply? Greetings Sepp
That is a GP Factor Folding Table with Bamboo pull out - we love it!!!!
Awesome build! Can’t wait to see more! Excellent walkthrough and explanation of everything. Thank you!! Liked and subscribed!!!
Isn't this the same truck I saw on Instagram at KOH here that broke the axle? Doing donuts in sand is nothing. Thing is not as rugged as Elon stans put out there. It's got some* pros, sure, but it's not going to last through the paces of other off-roaders. It's OK* to not be a complete zealot for this thing. To see both sides of the story, be sure to watch a few from "KOH cybertruck", like "watch?v=Vd9a8fN_-oU" shows.
High lift are none sense tool for off-roading i found it no use can’t even chance a tire if you rig flexes a lot and if you do ever better chock those others tires or get crush by you own vehicle People just get a fucking winch installed if you off road
That redarc setup was sick! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a truck.
Is this a serious comment?
Thank you guys for coming out. We had a great time!
"promo sm" 😩
That Steering is Super Quick!!!!
Nice... video! Looks like a lot of fun!
Badass
'Cybertruck' is one word bro!
INVINCIBLE? Not with those tires. !
Invincible, it says, then it broke driving on sand.
I too like the part where it doesn't break down at all
@@worstusername22 It wasn't shown in this video, but that truck broke a tie rod at this event. Wheel nearly fell off.
yeah it did just not in the vid@@worstusername22
Breaking bolts and parts while off roading is par for the course. No bigge.
@@damonried1720 But it was on flat dirt, not tough off roading.
So sick
We saw them out there. But this one was going in reverse back to Hammers Town.
Can the rest of the skids be rci?
Just finished my build on inside, I love my alu cab and my Tacoma. Best Buy of my life
I’m stoked with the camper!!! Loving every bit of it and can’t wait to go out as much as possible now!!
