Schubert - Fantasie in C major, Op. 15 "Wanderer" (Avdeeva)
The Fantasie in C major, Op. 15 (D. 760), popularly known as the Wanderer Fantasy, is a four-movement fantasy for solo piano composed by Franz Schubert in 1822. It is widely considered Schubert's most technically demanding composition for the piano. Schubert himself said "the devil may play it," in reference to his own inability to do so properly.
🇩🇪 Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Fantasie in C major, Op. 15, D. 760 (1813)
00:00 I. Allegro con fuoco ma non troppo (C major)
05:47 II. Adagio (C# minor)
12:45 III. Presto (A-flat major)
17:26 IV. Allegro (C major)
Schubert composed this work in late 1822, just after breaking off work on the Unfinished Symphony while sketching its incomplete scherzo. It was written for and dedicated to Carl Emanuel Liebenberg von Zsittin, who had studied piano with Johann Nepomuk Hummel, in the hope of some remuneration from the dedication. It is not only a technically formidable challenge for the performer, but also a structurally formidable four-movement work combining theme-and-variations with sonata form. Each movement transitions into the next instead of ending with a final definitive cadence, and each starts with a variation of the opening phrase of his lied "Der Wanderer", D. 489. The second movement, marked "adagio," states the theme in virtually the same way it is presented in the song, whereas the three fast movements begin with variants in diminution (that is, shortened note values): the first movement, "allegro con fuoco ma non troppo," a monothematic sonata form in which the second theme is another variant, the third, "presto," a scherzo in triple meter, and the finale, marked simply "allegro," starting as a quasi-fugue and making increasing demands on the player's technical and interpretive powers as it storms on to its conclusion.

Schubert - Symphony No. 1 in D major
Переглядів 803 місяці тому
The Symphony No. 1 in D major, D 82, was composed by Franz Schubert in 1813, when he was just 16 years old. Despite his youth, his first symphony is an impressive piece of orchestral music for both its time and size. The first movement opens with a stately Adagio introduction, reminiscent of Joseph Haydn's 104th symphony in its format. The short Adagio sets off a lively Allegro vivace. 🇩🇪 Franz...

Lovable Tchaikovsky, thank you for posting. 💙👍🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 (Netherlands)
Very beautiful, thank you for posting. 💙👍🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 (Netherlands)
Thx for uploading this wonderful video, Yulianna's interpretation is very impressive.❤ Moreover, I want to ask the date and place of this performance, thx.
The date is February 19th 2019. I'm not sure about the location though.
@@pyotr-ilyich-tchaikovsky thx for your information🌼
Grazie mille.Interessante ascolto abbinato alla partitura.,
My favorite has always been October, although January, August, June, are very interesting.
thank you for this great video
You're very welcome!
Weirdly, I learned 4 Rachmaninof preludes before even looking at these. I know, my ignorance, mainly. But it gives me an unusual backwards perspective, I keep hearing syncopation ideas, themes, bits of the style of Rachmaninof everywhere when I hear these pieces!!
obsessed with this piece tbh
Oh, my. Variation IX is so hauntingly beautiful. 😢❤
What a trio of performers! Kavakos Capuçon & Wang!? Incredible chemistry!
Not nearly as good as Ashkenazy's.
Thank you for posted this pearl ❤️
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Mr. Hough is an outstanding pianist
So happy a score of this beautiful work was finally posted
I love this❤❤
they’re all sort of the same theme
Délicieuses Pieces Folkloriques 🙏🙏🙏
I hate this sonata. It's a disgusting crap made of Mozart 21th symphony. I don't like Haydn either.
Sibelius is one of the great composers of the Romantic era. Listening to the works you experience pleasant emotions. The impromtu's are very beautiful. I especially liked the fifth, also B minor is my favorite key. I am a pianist and I think that all Impromptu 's are beautiful. I believe that I will somehow play all of them myself. 😊
One of my favorite symphonic fantasies by Tchaikovsky, up there next to Romeo and Juliet

Stunning.
My favorite performance of this piece is by Bolet. His Carnegie Hall performance of Tannhäuser Overture at 58 years old finally got his belated recognition as one of the great Pianist.
Am I lying if I say that I don’t’ like Tchaikovsky ? 😏
Incredible.
Guys i have a question? What Jean Sibelius composition fits perfectly with Dostoevskys book crime and punishment?
The second string quartet “voces intimae”
V and VI are my favorites.
I is my favourite but they’re all 👌
This first one could be in the hunger games movies
Nr. 3, in a minor is great.
Sibelius is a great composer. These compositions, including #5 are not elements of his greatness. Only a Finn would understand why he had to compose these odd pieces. They have great didactic value but no one wants to hear them.
Thanks for posting but this composer's overrated to me
Oh, why is that? I understand this set is not some of his best work, but his orchestral music is incredible in my opinion.
he is super good whatchu mean
Incredible in which aspect ?@@pyotr-ilyich-tchaikovsky
His thematic writing and development in his symphonies is fantastic, I think, and his skillful orchestration really emphasises the beauty of his melodies. He also makes great use of tonal colours.
@@pyotr-ilyich-tchaikovskysibelius is very interesting and original. On grounds of originality I would rate Sibelius higher than Tchaikovsky
Hermosa obra!!!
amazing. sounds like slavic music
Beautifully played this music by Tchaikovsky with typically Russian nerve and emotion
Guy was a genius. The melodies just poured out of him. ❤😊😊
I believe Sibelius is the absolute master of simplicity, it's never too much and never too little.
???? Sibelious is completely awful, wdym???

Thank you for uploading this. Magnificent music!
My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I love his music.

Excellent interpretation by pianist Mikhail Pletnev! This piece represents the heights of Russian Romanticism.
I have never heard this one before, and I want to play it now! That shouldn't be too hard, though, considering it's simple, or relatively so, and if slowed down enough, my ears can pick out most of the notes.
That's good to hear! Sheet music is available on IMSLP: imslp.org/wiki/Romance,_Op.5_(Tchaikovsky,_Pyotr)
Odd music. It has the Tschaikovsky nervousness.
Sibelius creates a world of Finnish dances, folk songs and spirits. A musical place unto itself, similar, yet distinctively seperate from its Viking and Slavic neighbors.
there's a really free but reserved usage of dissonance in these pieces I feel. on one hand dissonances are often unprepared, have no resolution, even sometimes function as resting or pedal harmonies, but are used relatively sparingly. very serene and interesting effect, almost bit satie-esque in my opinion (especially in the last three). also the phrases, melodies and the voiceleading in the harmonic accompaniment are often kind of blocky and unintuitive. all of that makes for a really intimate, kind of novel and weird impression. Im not entirely sure if I like it that much stylistically, but it is definitely very interesting!
What a fantastic analysis! This is, of course, an earlier piece, so Sibelius was still experimenting to try and find his voice as a composer but nonetheless I do agree that some parts feel a bit weird stylistically.
@@pyotr-ilyich-tchaikovsky thanks :) yes that's good to keep in mind. I am also yet to listen to his major orchestral works, and to get to know him and his most important music better!
Nah bro, it doesn't make for a "novel and weird impression" it makes for bad music.
I love this set. It's so quietly unapologetic. "I'm just music and I'm content with that"
Priceless.
Thanks for dropping this after 150 years good sir.
