The SCS EM Eye ESD Event Meter has not been discontinued. It is standard item CTM048-21. It is a very effective tool that detects, counts and measures ESD events that can damage ESD sensitive items.

1. First, Rtt testing is not required for Compliance Verification, only Rtg. Rtt testing is only required for Product Qualification or as a method to determine if the surface resistance of a material may be the cause of a failed Rtg test. 2. A material would not be required to be grounded for Rtt testing. You are only testing the surface resistance between two specific point so it doesn’t matter if it’s grounded or not.

Isopropyl Alcohol should be used sparingly as a way to disinfect the surface or remove excess grime. Isopropyl alcohol may degrade the performance and physical properties of the materials and are not recommended for long term use. Normally, cleaning should be done with products specifically designed to clean surfaces in ESD Protected Areas, such as Desco’s Reztore ESD Surface & Mat Cleaner.

You shouldn't worry to much about killing your pc with ESD. But the best thing to do is to plug yor ESD wristwrap to the PSU cover and the plug the PSU into you wall outlet.
