Переглядів 3,4 тис.Місяць тому
Our annual Small Gauge festival for small steam locomotives (and other rail vehicles) 3.5 inch gauge and below was held on the 2 & 3 November 2024 and was our best ever. There was a large array of various locomotives (20) running on our elevated track over the 2 days. Light drizzle on the Saturday did not deter anyone. There was a display of members work and other items of interest in the groun...

Nice, please show us more
Very impressive.
Goes like a rocket now!
Thanks very much I much for upload. My brother and I really enjoyed watching it ☺️
Great Video. My father did Dans garden in the 80s and 90’s and I was lucky enough to see a few startups and drives of his trains. Very cool
It's weird seeing ones without little Men
Good video, nice track and lots of different trains, I do like the NSWGR saddle tank and was that a Perry narrow gauge loco I saw parked in the siding?
Yes it was
Coal fired too but alas it had a problem on the day.
@@steamview1224 OK, maybe next video then. Great loco's.
This might be of interest slsls.asn.au/newsletters/SLSLS%20November%202021%20Newsletter.pdf It does feature in earlier Cripple Creek videos
All those years ago, when my son was young, I took him several times to West Ryde. I'd highly recommend it - we both had a great afternoon there. There was another layout at Galston that we went to from time to time also.
Excellent looking models and layout, good to see.😃
Thank you for that info. I will try ebay now I now what the gauge is Cheers
nice . like.
Great fun being had by all. 😀
looking at the background, i cant help but feel theres a few developers busy lobbying to shut this down... all that prime real estate for development... just waiting for the one resident to complain about the noise... the smell... the crowd... sigh. i cant help it... the worlds gone mad...
What size is the rail and lengths?
Hi. Not sure of the gauge but the section sizes are : Head width 2.70mm 0.106" foot width 4.72mm 0.185" and overall height 5.35mm 0.211" there are 92 lengths at 6' or 1.83m Cheers
Hi Great gathering of highly skilled people and impressive locos. My father bought me a heap of large gauge brass rail back in 1957 to build me a set up around our garage. Still waiting for it to be built. Aftre all these years I still have the brass rail. People have told me to sell it for scrap but the quality is such I couldn't do it as think an enthusiast would see this as a windfall. Do you think anyone would be interested in purchasing this? I really would like to see it used for its inteded purpose. Cheers
It sounds like O Scale rail which is 32mm gauge. I suggest you contact a garden rail club or perhaps ebay.
Thank you for that info. I will try ebay now I now what the gauge is Cheers
Thank you for all those videos, great to watch.
Thanks STEAMVIEW for the awesome videos showing a great turn up of locos for the 2024 TnT weekend. And thanks to your wife & you for the comradry. Safe travels. As always until next time cheers.
Our pleasure! Thanks Steve. Great to catch up! It was a great weekend too. QSMEE are fantastic hosts.

Very impressive and lots of fun. 😊
Mona seems to go good
For its size, very impressive!
Wonderful. Thank you to all involved. Also you had me at 2109. Spectacular locos all round, but a special place in my heart for re-creating classes that are no longer with us at original size and telling the NSWGR history in a more complete way. Does anyone have a 23 or 29 in hand? Soft spot for the missing Baldwins here obviously.
There is a 23 in the Orange club and a 29 at West Ryde.
@@steamview1224 oh wow thanks so much for replying. Im in Marrickville and will try to see the 29 ASAP. Do you know if anyone has a 16 or 15 class?
@@davidmason7765 Not running. I know of a part built 16. There are a number of 17s running and an 18 is nearing completion. There is a19 and a 20 under construction,
@@steamview1224 thank you!
How does it work
Nice video. Thanks for the uploads of these older movies. The Fred Hercus' 3 cylinder 4-6-0 loco is still going strong, having been lucky to drive it a couple of times recently. Know of a couple of other locos still going as well. Makes me wonder where or what happened to a lot of those locos.
Thanks. It is important to capture Australian live steam history for the future.
Agr British Darjeeling me hota ye train jaruur banate,
Good video! That level crossing bell is annoying. Must drive the neighbours bonkers 3rd Sat of the month!
All level x-ing bells are annoying ... that's their job.
@@herbgarratt of course they are!
Not often to see double heading on a raised track, very impressive!
Could you please tell me more about the gorgeous PLM 4-8-2 at 3:37 if you know anything about it? Is it a proper four-cylinder compound like the prototype? Thanks.
Hi there, My PLM is not compound it has two outside cylinders.
@@arthurhurst9239 Ah, I see. Thank you for replying. I'd like to reiterate just how gorgeous that model of yours is. It's a very fine piece of engineering. I can't say I've seen many French prototypes in model form, so it's always a treat to see one. Is it safe to assume that you are the builder, then? If so, how long did it take you, and what made you choose that engine to build a model of?
Hi, The PLM was purchased from a deceased estate in a non going condition. It has taken me and my brother over four years to work out all the issues to get the engine to this stage. We haven't finished as yet. The original builder took almost 10yrs to build it and then became sick and was not able to work out the problems. The family put the loco up for sale after he passed. He had built over 5 other locomotives.
My favourite gauge. Excellent locos.
Excellent week-end was had by all. The ILS did a great job getting the track ready considering all the rain that fell just before the week-end got on the way.
Good to see this group still going strong. Visiting was always a great day. Thanks for the coverage.
It was a great weekend.
motivation for building my steam engine lol
Beautiful Steamer.
Good work.
Ray driving the 2ft gauge engine
Lovely days for a whole host of reasons.
The device at 0:42 -- a blo torch-fired steam boiler being used to create a firebox draft? I think?
Yes thats right.
Blow lamp administered by C.S. (Cec) MacKellar, SLSLS Foundation Member and its first Secretary.
Great to have the event so well recorded.
Looks like fun times.
Looks like she’s running well.
Another great day at SLSLS.
@5:14, starting an engine (very nearly) in mid-gear. Novel ... ! Lucky the opposite crankpin was only just past FDC.
Nice video, likes from me!
Wow, I can just imagine that whistle out bush on a dark foggy night...
Circa 1964? I think the 38 and the 2-10-0 were built by Charlie Mead (who is one of the drivers?)
15:39 The guy on the back is the late Don Jones. Many more to identify here, too.
🎉 2 good vaporish tonish roolish luck on u class y good luck ❤❤🎉
