There are people who have empathic feelings. They cry at the movies, they feel sorry when you tell them that you feel bad. Then there are Empaths. They literally "feel" everything around them. They feel others, as if they, were them. You dont feel that your friend has a headache, you FEEL that headache, as if it were your headache in your own head. Except that taking a tylenol wont make it go away. It wont go away until you get enough physical distance from your friend, OR your friend takes that tylenol. You feel peoples anger, fear, jealousy, anxiety, hate, excitement good and bad, depression, self esteem, love, joy, anticipation, every emotion you can think of, you feel it as if it were your own. People just dont comprehend how intense it can be. Muse explaining the death of her mother, and how she "felt everything" is what it is like to be an Empath. the headphones? no. They dont work. You dont have a choice, and their is no solution nor relief when you are around other people. Not even animals. Yes, you can even feel animals. Seclusion is the best method, me myself, I prefer to be on a small boat at sea. The sea is vast and it drowns out the specifics of individual lives. Lives that are already less complex, who live in the moment, who's status changes constantly. I try to improve things for those around me. Because feeling positive emotion is easier than being bombarded with negative emotion. Otherwise, its easy to drop into your own depression, which compounds with that of everyone elses, and is very hard to crawl out from under it.
