The man was so enigmatic that the book "A Man Called Intrepid " was re-classified from 'Biography/True Story' to "Fiction" (i have a paperback copy thus labelled), then back to 'True Story' after so much that seemed unbelievable to outsiders turned out to be fact after all. Highly recommended for any reader. Here was the ultimate top-tier operator, secret war hero and quite the anti-Nazi difference-maker at the critical juncture. Bravo Sir William "Bill" Stephenson and well-done all involved in his memorializing! Cheers. Peace & Word, d
Congrats! Love me some bonbons
I met Mr Hodgson in 1999 when I was a Sgt in the Canadian Armed Forces, Military Intelligence Branch. I managed to get an autographed Copy of his Book on Camp X.
William Stephenson-brilliant and inspiring man. I'm currently reading 'A Man Called Intrepid - The Secret War' from 1976. The author is William Stevenson. So far it's fascinating with a wealth of information. I still visit the old Camp-X location from time to time. I love the monument honoring him.
Canadians are ignored. Intrepid created history
Thank you! And congratulations! So inspiring!!
A man who was adopted from a family we no nothin about in a family we no hardly nothing about. Later on he had no connection with the one or the other family. Oh , that’s very seldom and shows a great disrespect to the ones that adopted him. I tried to get more knowledge about him but there is none. For me there are two possibilities 1. He is a complete make-up 2. He is a illegitimste child from one of the ‘bosses that rule the world’ was tortured and mind-split and later used to do all things a ‘ normal’ human wouldn’t do. ( see Interview David zicke with Arizona Wilder)
Are you afraid every time you step outside your front door? Has Whitby and its administration stripped away your sense of safety and security? I certainly don't have the same fondness for Whitby as you do. It's understandable you love it, being the mayor and all, able to manipulate the system to your advantage.
More lies and money wasted to service the needs of the influential on the backs of the working class.
Dr john Coleman in his book 'the committee of 300' says it was Stephenson who killed JFK for MI6 under orders from the club of rome-the committee...Intrepid indeed...
Love this young woman......so much energy Everything is first class.....
Fasinating man thanks
salt
Can he do lost foam casting?
I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba and inspired by William Stephenson.
Your good aunty teesha
Intrepid. His mother was Icelandic and his father was Scottish, from the Orkney Islands. He was however not raised by them, but was actually fostered and raised by another Icelandic family.
Complete BS! William S. Stephenson never made it past 6th grade - and yet in his very first comments this “ historian” claims that Stephenson graduated from University? From which University? With what degree? Site you sources sir…this is completely useless history.
Without people like William Stephenson and Bill Donovan the war might have had a much different outcome.
It's a bit strange the book The True Intrepid ("a book" in the doc) is read and quoted from but never mentioned. What's with that ?
The miniseries starring David Niven is here on UA-cam. David was in SOE too. Well worth a look. ua-cam.com/play/PLlISMtQZa96YArko0mDqmDj8Y-ftc4wM-.html
Duded engaged in false flags to drag America into the war on Britain's side. That was the whole goal of British espionage in America.
That grass field behind / around the pump track would be a great spot for an MTB skills park in the future as Bruce mentioned. If it's just dirt/gravel it likely wouldn't be much more of an expense either. SORCA has built a great park in Squamish that includes drops & skinnies & rock rolls that would be a great model to build from: ua-cam.com/video/N0Ms-2DnsaY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ShawTVSeatoSky
It's near my old school

LOL! I was testing you.
Thank you for sharing!!
I guess this is what ideologically colonization looks like. This is shocking; Truly disturbing.
Privilege is b.s.
@Delsur27 really. I tractor everybody with respect. No special privileges because of anything like who or what they think they are.
I am certain Hitler would have been impressed with this attention to detail
It's a little weird that the poster frame is of Hoover, but this is a very welcome doc about Stephenson, of which there are few good ones.
Ignored for far too long, just like so much of Canadian history. Finally, his story is being told, not by Brits, but by his fellow Canadians. A feature movie about him is long overdue.
My family lived there after my grandfather built lasco steel
Well done Whitby and all involved, excellent imaging of Sir William in his work during the Second World War, The statue created by Leo Mol, of Intrepid as a pilot in the first war can be seen in Winnipeg
Thank you. Makes me proud to be Canadian.
The new hospital in Durham Region should definitely be in Whitby, where there is a rapidly growing population. When ill it would be wonderful not to have to drive downtown with trauma situations or to see a specialist. In some cases, being treated immediately can make the difference between life and death Joyce Ovens
A Canadian that saved the world .......few in this world can have such words said about them .
Another Canadian who saved the world .
We are some of those millennial growers who have really expanded our vegetable garden during the pandemic with our kids. It's been so rewarding and therapeutic! And there's nothing better than shopping for our salad in the backyard. These elementary school kids even started selling seedlings this year. If anyone wants plant starts for tomatoes and peppers let me know! ;) even some "exotic" varieties.
What an interesting video and the bronze is a great asset to the town. Very impressive group of artists and crafts people. Well done.
