Joe is watching! Thank you for the shout out, my brother. What nice drive! I especially like looking at the shops you were driving by. I couldn't believe there was a place on the left side of the street called "USA Chicken" at 2:00. How unexpected! But I will pass on that and go to the Fish 'n' Chips shop at 3:22. I see you are also plagued with Amazon vans and side-by-side bicyclists. Ugh. The hills and the country are beautiful and soul-calming. Thank you for letting us ride along.

I love England. My mom was a Brummie (a war bride) and I got to come to England from the states in 1977. Every single person I met was kind and gracious. I found the best fish and chips I have ever had in Northfield, Birmingham. They wrapped them in newspaper back then! Sadly, I have never found them that good since then. We traveled in my uncle's Ford Cortina with my cousin driving. He had so many stories that he would tell as he drove. I will be back again one day, and have more fish and chips, with a Woodpecker cider.
@@joe-nf7cf I can totally relate to all of that as a child of the 70s myself I think we had a couple of ford cortinas which I like to think as American inspired in shape and the best fish and chips I've ever had was at Porthleven run by a Geordie fellow I'm glad you have some fond memories of England a few things have changed and not necessarily for the better but we'll keep that stiff upper lip keep calm and carry on attitude thank you so so much for watching joe.😊

I live in Perranwell Station. I didn’t recognise the Chivvy bit at all as I have avoided that area for the past five years. The viaduct car park has gone because all that area is going to be redeveloped into a massive white elephant. It’s very congested in Truro and driving around cornwall is very tedious and boring now and hence I don’t venture out much.
@@Hedgehogsinthemist123 oh that's a shame I suppose the white elephant is going to be yet another block of flats lol I know especially during summer it can be a pain to drive but we have some very beautiful areas here in Cornwall and is real medicine for the soul and mind to visit.😊

This trip reminds me about when I came down to Newquay camping with another 4 guys the 2nd day we were there we planned a drive down to Truro to spend a few hours there but on our way back from the site pub about midnight I turned my ankle on the side of the path and had to be helped back to my tent, next day we did go to Truro as planned but I didn't see anywhere but Truro casualty 🤣
@@whiskymacable hi Vic yeah Truro is a nice city "big town" with some decent shops and sometimes near the pannier market they have a farmers market with load's of yummy things to eat from around the area. 😊
I am jealous of you British because I can't find decent fish and chips in the states. My mom was a Brummie and at least when I grew up in the states, we had H. Salt and Arthur Treacher's. We can't get those now.

@@alanhilton7336caradventure My mom and dad met during WW2, and my mom was a war bride. I got to come to England back in 1977, and we stayed just down the street from a little fish and chips shop that would wrap the meal up in newspaper. For years I have chased that perfect fish and chips shop. All countries have a blessing of some short, and one of England's is their fish and chips. At least to me.

@@alanhilton7336caradventure we done it for 2yrs between us 3 brorthers but we all got drained and was told best mum went into care .we didn't want it but we were not trained to cope .
Hi Alan, thanks for the comment about my vid, but I did explain that I had forgotten to bring the camera mounting bracket -hence having to drive with one hand and hold the camera with the other, only that it has a good gimbal attached it deffo would have been a lot more shaky, hopefully I'll remember it for the next time-enjoyed your Nos 1&2 vids-very relaxing especially when I'm eating my tea lol

Hi Alan, I am 79 yrs old, and was in the Fleet Air Arm at RNAS Culdrose ,Helston In the 1960's. I would be interested to know if the "Flamingos" dance halli in Redruth is still there(we knew it as Flaming Jo's. I expect it was knocked down years ago and then a new build. I really enjoy your programme, nice to see Cornwall,l but everywhere has changed except where I used to live St Ives still seems to be the same. Keep up the good work, best regards Colin.

Hi Alan, it is nice to see my old service area. I was a refrigeration engineer before I retired. I live in Torquay and Cornwall was my main area. I miss the "butty van" that was after the old little chef in the big layby before Liskeard . I enjoy the vids. Cheers Mike
