Daily expressions and phrases in the Levantine dialect from a Syrian TV show
In this Syrian Arabic lesson, you will learn some common expressions and phrases we use every day. I've taken these phrases from my last episode of my series "Bas Arabi", "Only Arabic", where I talked about the TV show "Sabaya." In that episode we saw Lubna visit her parents, and the funny story that happened to them. These phrases will definitely surprise your Arab friends and family! I've picked out some of the most common ones and will go over them in the next two lessons. I'm sure this will help you understand these phrases and how to use them, as you'll see them in context. Have fun on your language learning journey!

Thanks for the video! I have a question. Why in "fighting with your father" is "your father" abuki instead of abuik?
salamat 🤗 in some accents when the word ends with a vowel we change the suffix for "your" female to "ki"some people will add "uik"
She really spoke Arabic fluently and with Levantine accent ! I was able to understand her without a problem.
ahlan 👋🏽sure she does, 🥰

ya hala 👋🏽 A new lesson coming soon 😊
Thank you for another awesome video. I do have a question. I was wondering why since it is a female "Lubna" why it's "shebek" and not "shebiki". My grandparents immigrated from Lebanon but they spoke to me mostly in English. But this one Lebanese guy I knew would always say "Shu biki ya eini?" when he'd ask me if something was wrong. And I recall him saying "shu baek" if it were a male, and "shu biki" for a female so wondering why it doesn't apply here or can it be either? Maybe both are correct?
salamat ya hala 👋🏽 Good question! They all mean the same; the different ways are just different accents.😊
بس كلمة "عم" تعني ايش؟
سلامات يا هلا👋🏽 منضيف "عم" ل الفعل لنشكل الفعل المستمر You add "عم" to the verb to form the present continuous tense.
@@ArabicwithManar. إذن، "لسّا" تعني؟

hi great lesson! i’m wondering if you can also say بيحسسني قلبي instead of حاسسني قلبي. like is بيحسسني قلبي another way of saying it i feel it in my heart?
No. Dont say that.
why is that wrong ?
salamat Tony 👋🏽 Yes, you could say that if you mean I always or usually feel in my heart. "Usually, I feel in my heart every time something wrong happens with my kids." عادتا بحسني قلبي كل مرة بصير شي مو منيح مع ولادي
so what about بيحسسني قلبي not بيحسني قلبي because يحسس means to make something feel
@@tonyhakim-p4w Yes, right means to make someone feel a certain way, but we won't use it in this expression.
Long time no see! Thanks for the enjoyable lesson Ustaza Manar 🙏🏻🥰

Oh my God how beautiful and poetic is the Arabic language ❤ I loved absolutely good morning of jasmine and good morning of roses. Never heard something similar in other languages that I know.
Shukran kteer, for your nice words! Arabic has many pretty sayings. I'm happy you like it! There are many more cool phrases to learn in Arabic.🥰
Dear Manar ❤ Now it's summer. Could You please make for us some real life vlog about enjoying summer activities with Your family? Going to Your favourite beach to swim and sunbase or having barbeque/ picknic in mountains or traveling by ferry to some beautiful Greek island? I don't know what exactly You prefer to do during summer, but I am sure that it would be a very interesting vocabulary/ grammar lesson ❤
Thanks for your great idea!🤗 I'm currently working on several videos from my vacation. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be ready before the end of the summer.
Dear Manar, could You please make for us Bas Arabi video about how to make proper Arabic coffee and how You call all necessary dishes and explain to us how to serve it? ❤ I especially love tiny Arabic cups for cofee 🤭every time I am in an Arabic shop I have urge to buy some more of these beautiful adorable cups. I just can not resist 🤗❤
Ahlan wa sahlan, habibi! I love those small cups too! They're called "finjan," plural "fanajeen," in Arabic. Great idea for a video! I will keep your suggestion in mind and will try to work on something.
Dear Manar, please make for us BasArabi video about celebrating Your favourite holiday. What kind of special food and drinks You have in this day and what special activities You do in this day? For many Christians it is Christmas. For Latvians it is Yanni's day on June 22. And in Cyprus I absolutely love Green / Clean Monday before Pasque when everywhere people fly kites in the sky.
🤣 It was very interesting to learn from this video that Arabs when they say NO put head up not move right to left like Europeans. When I asked my Arabic husband from Syria about something and he was doing like this I never understood what he means 🤭
In September I go again to Cyprus so I've already started to watch all Your playlists to learn once again all phrases and words that I've forgotten while my stay in Latvia. Unfortunately in Latvia we don't have Arabs and if You don't have opportunity to speak Arabic every day You forget a lot of words and phrases ☹💔 Thank You very much Manar ❤ for Your wonderful lessons!
South cyprus is greek north cyprus is Turkish. So because of you go to cyprus why you are learning arabic? 😂
Dear Manar, could You please make for us more videos BasArabi with Your adorable students ❤? It's so interesting and inspiring to see from which countries they are, what is the reason why they study Arabic and what additional sources they use to improve their level.
salamat margarita keefik? 🥰 I am working on a new one, it will be ready soon. wait for it.
Lubna's parents are soooo adorable and sweet 😂 they touched my heart ❤! Thank You very much Manar for this new episode of BasArabi!
