Lumix Can do RAW if you go for th s5IIX, i have the S5 and RAW is amazing, just don't make my mistake and go for the Blackmagic over the Atomos! I will NEVER buy another Atomos "DLC" product!!!

which camera did you use?

The Komodo looks the best by far (in my opinion), the Blackmagic comes second, and lastly, the Lumix, which looks the most "digital"

Komodo is definitely better....but the result from lumix is fantastic....

what about exporting or saving as a render as braw

Just got a lense from MPB broke within the week. Returned it and they sent me another one where they superglued a ring on and made a grinding noise. When changing focus length. Returned that. Do not buy unless you can actually hold it.

as a true "travel" shooter, as in international and domestic air traveler, few tips... get the aluminum version, carbon fibre cracks and gets crushed... put it in a hardcase and check it in... sometimes, they don't let you carry on... I invested in a golf bag hard case (much cheaper than pelican cases) which can hold long items such as this, compact stands, boom pole

Buy used batteries at your peril. They can be a total waste of time.

What's the word on rolling shutter on this bad boy? I was very interested in getting a couple until i saw that preview video by wandering DP then heard the rolling shutter might be a bit much for me. I do some kinetic moves and hate jellocam.

Great vid Mark! Its not expensive compared to the aputures I guess, so it is a good price although you are paying a good price for something really portable too. So it's not expensive compared to aputures but it is expensive compared to nanlite I think they got a 300w light that's 350£. But then again the portability and the fact that it can be 500w light at the same time is amazing for 600£ might have to add it to my kit haha

I was an early adopter and i'm still using my Terra 4K I bought 8 years ago as my A cam. The image quality is gorgeous and being able to use 3rd party batteries, ssd's and monitors really was a selling point for me. Red's ultra proprietary ecosystem was really what stopped me going that route. I'd rather use a poor man's Alexa than a rich man's Red ✌️

At 13:43, you can really see how much more defined her strands of hair are and the color separation with the Red and Black Magic. The S5ii has her hair with hardly no detail or color separation. The S5ii is great but better with an external recorder to keep up with these other 2. Over saturating the colors is a nice trick, but the S5ii falls behind.

Highlights look so gross on the Sony. Correct answer is the C70; ive had FX3, Komodo, C70, R5C etc and C70 is the best with its DGO, internal ND's, internal RAW.

what stabilization was used on the S5ii?

Honestly it's not as much about data. ELQ is probably about the same size as ALL-I, yet you'd see the same benefits. The Komodo uses highlight recovery software in camera to get around a stop more highlight retention compared the FX6. The Komodo also just grades nicer, better color straight out of camera. It is kind of like shooting with an ARRI in 10 bit 422, it still looks better than other cameras shooting RAW. I am not saying a Komodo is comparable to an Alexa but it definitely looks nicer SOC against an FX6. Now after proper coloring it can be pretty hard to tell any of these cameras apart for sure.

I think the umbrella is really supposed to be a reflector. The underside is silvered and you could point a flash into it, you just need to find a better way to mount it.

How did you fit them on the s5? Wich adapter? Will it still look good with the m21 adapter from l to ef mount

What do you put as distance in the lens data?

Could you use this tripod safely with something like let's say a Sony fx3 with a 70-200 lens on it? Will it hold the weight?

The lenses are almost the same, which is good for this comparison, but I think it would be useful if the ND filters were the same. Different ND filters can greatly affect image quality. I own an S5IIx and am very happy with the image quality and dynamic range. 12-bit BRAW files are wonderful to work with.
