Hello Moto Relief I am considering to buy the honda crf250x 2005, what year was ur 250x ? What made u change to the 250r Did the 250x brake down or did u modify the filterbox and rejettet and all that what did you do to it and what did you not do to it ? How does it compare to the 250r ? i wanna know your opinion :) If you dont mind then please explain as much as you can about it
I had an '06. I did all the performance mods (JD jet kit, airbox, cam, pipe, etc). The only issue I had with the bike was the valves wearing out. If you get an X, I'd recommend getting an '07+ model (the newer years have better valve seat material and don't wear out as fast). I ended up getting a 250R since it was lighter, faster, and it has fuel injection. The X is a great trail bike, especially for beginners, but the R is a much better race bike.

Thanks! I've got the gopro mounted underneath my visor in this vid, using superview.
I like that they had it going over logs and stuff! The terrain / trails look excellent.

How does one find a race like this? I am almost 40 but interested in running in one with my Yamaha 450FX
I would check out your local AMA district website, they should have a race schedule for motocross, hare scrambles, etc.
I moved back home to WI/UP last year after 8 years of riding desert. Woods single track is fun, but I miss the fast stuff. This looks like a great area to open it up with good visibility
Right on, yeah Baraga is the place to go if you want speed. This is the south loop, and there's also a north loop, both of which are double track with good visibility.

@@MotoReLeif Yeah, the 300Xc and a 500Exc. Almost picked up a CRF450rx instead of the XC, but I think I made the right decision haha

Awesome loop. The gas pipeline is great for when you want to open her up and maybe get a little air 😂. We usually take it all the way into Baraga and get lunch. Far journey, but it makes the swim in Big lake more rewarding afterwards.

Did about 20 miles of that pipeline yesterday, that was a blast. Nice to open it up after the woods tracks, that sand dune section was really fun

This is one of my favorite trails in the yoop. It's an FMF Powercore 4 - from what I'm told, it makes a better sound than the stocker.

Course looks awesome for a hare scramble. Also looks ideal for that 450x. I’m going to take a look at one this weekend. I’m coming off a 300 2 stroke so the only thing that I’m concerned about is fatigue from throwing a 450 around at a 3 hour hare scramble. I have enough problems with arm pump as it is. That’s what I get for not riding till my mid 40’s lol.
This is actually a 250, the 450 would be too much bike for me in the woods. Why are you making the switch? I'd think the 300 would be a perfect bike for hare scrambles
Moto ReLeif I think I saw that it was a 250x after the fact. Still looked like it ran strong 👍. It wasn’t a planned switch. I had to offload the 300 for other reasons. Now looking for a replacement. The way it seems is the wife wants me to get a dual sport instead since mine was stolen back in October. She’s currently out with a torn ACL but can still tool around on her dual sport so she wants me to get one again to join her. Who knows.. I might be dumb enough to take a DR650 to a hare scramble. What’s the worst that could happen? Lol
@@PennsylvaniaDualSport that makes sense. I've seen some guys racing XR650's, so it isn't that dumb! I think the 450X would make a good dual sport, but you'll have to do some mods (like most bikes). It's still far superior to any DR, especially on the trail
Moto ReLeif it is far superior on the trial.. it just doesn’t make a good dual sport. On a dual sport if you pack a small bag and head out for a long weekend trip you shouldn’t have to be doing oil changes along the way. I have this definitive line between true dual sports and dirt bikes with a plate and signals. The 450L is a great bike. I’d just hate to run it to work every day then to the trails on the weekend. It’s just too much for it. That being said I’ve taken true dual sports deep into rocky enduro single track and still had fun. All that comes with seat time and ultimately ability. I miss having two bikes to chose from. Now I’ll be down to one. Or up to one since I don’t have any currently. I hate thieves. The dr will get much more use. It already has the suspension taken care of which to me is the DR’s weakest link. Hoping in a month or so I can post up what I think of it off road. Everything on lockdown here in PA.
Don’t waste your money. A 450 will wear your ass out. 250 two stroke. Wash n Ride! 👍🏼

Have ever done major engine rebuild on the crf250x
I've done everything besides the crankshaft so far, but I'm probably going to replace that at the end of the year.
Came for crash content. Was disappointed by a fast, clean run.
I guess I've got to make up for it the next video. I'll be sure to befriend some trees for ya
If you have not, go run the trails on the north end, way better!

Nope, never had a problem with overheating, even though both my radiators are crunched in on the sides lol. The stock cooling system seems to work like magic
