Incantation - Deliverance of horrific prophecies (Guitar cover)
Band: Incantation
Song: Deliverance of horrific prophecies
Album: Onward to Golgotha
Tuning: C standard
Gear used: BC rich Ironbird plugged straight into Engl Fireball 100
Trying to think of why it is that I decided to attempt this song has been futile. I feel as though the answer is incredibly simple: it's Incantation at their best. A true classic from a band that has written a litany of death metal classic tracks and albums.
'Deliverance' still stands out among the crowd for me.
Feel fortunate enough to have witnessed this track live last year and I'm fairly certain my neck has never recovered from headbanging so hard to it, haha.
Hail Incantation. Hail the GOAT.
Thank you for taking the time to check this cover out.

Poor boy
No idea what you mean by that mate? 😂
Hey mate, was wondering if you could share your settings for incantation with me? I have John's custome made pedal he uses that was made for venom and I really like incantation a lot too. Thanks bro 🤘🏻
Hey mate, they're pretty much exactly the same settings; however I usually increase the bass one notch to compensate for the actives not quite having the body of my passive pickups. That's the only change I make amp settings wise.
@jvschmidt7846 oh okay got it. Thanks 🤘🏻
Badass!!
Thanks mate! It's an unbelievably killer track I reckon.
Bet your neck hurted after that headbanging session! Love your covers man
Haha my neck was definitely feeling it after this track 🤣. Thanks bud, really appreciate the support 😁
Love that guitar man
She's a beast!
Where are you from?
'Straya mate 🤙
Bro can you help me out?? Ive been trying to figure out how to set my Marshall and overdrive pedal to get this sound and i cant figure it out 😫
Hey mate, I'm happy to help out as much as I can. I've never put an overdrive pedal in front of my amps before, so that is a bit above my knowledge. But I'm more than happy to give you a list of my amp settings. All amps have different tones of course, so it wont be quite the same, but it might help get you where you want to go with it. Totally up to you, mate. Just let me know 👍
@@jvschmidt7846are you Austrian? I dig your channel man and been into the death metal scene since I was a kid and met a lot of my influences and been to cool shows an stuff over the years, I'm from the states myself, I always thought you were a German dude cus I never heard ya talk an then the mate slang came lol I had a rad roommate from New Zealand when I was kid who actually got me into playing guitar and he said mate and half head and other cool slang like that too lol. Sick channel bro 🤘🏻
Hey man just checking in with ya and yes please, definitely hoping to get that ballpark area of sound. 🤘🏻@jvschmidt7846
@beatlejuice5951 Hey mate, yeah sure am Aussie haha. Never realised how much I do say 'mate' to be honest, but it's a dead give away for sure haha 😂. Got some good mates myself from NZ. They're generally great people over there. Righto, so I have my amp dialed in as such; Gain at 5 (12 o'clock). Bass at 1 (I use passive pick ups so I don't need to use much). Mids at 8. Treble at 9. Presence at 7. I also have my mid boost button switched on as well as my 'bright' button, whatever that is. I tend to add a bit of extra bass when I use guitars with active pick-ups, but other than that, I don't change much. No idea how this tone would work in a band setting, unfortunately. I Appreciate the kind words and Hope the tone settings help mate. 🤙
Hey Mate 🙂 thanks for the amp settings, it actually did really help despite a Marshall is voiced different than an Engl so i just tweeked the treble a bit back and it definitely compensated and i put my gain on my amp at like 130 2oclock cus Engl got more gain lol@jvschmidt7846

Awesome as ever. Saw that Obituary's coming nearby to Maryland Deathfest 2025 and playing their entire Cause of Death album. Not sure if I'll be able to make it, but that would be so sick to see!
Fingers crossed you're able to go mate! Saw the Obi's at the start of 2020 (before the world shutdown) play the entirety of CoD and it was absolutely fuckin' fantastic! Have you watched the Live Infection show?
LET'SSSSSSSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I prefer guitars like this and the V Flyer ones instead of Les Paul and stuff.

Incantation was so prophetic. They predicted the shitty life we're living from 2020 to 2024 and beyond.
Crazy how that works in metal bro!
@Gaunt-v1i Metal was great back in the 80's and 90's when people already saw the decline of Western civilization.

Thanks mate! I really appreciate the kind words. You definitely have to dig into Death's discography. Being that Chuck covered so much ground with the band, there's bound to be at least one album or more that will really resonate with you. That said; none of their records are bad. Just comes down to taste as to which ones you'll prefer. Hope you enjoy them mate, Death are fantastic!

Haha nah you're all good mate. I think most people would consider SBG to be the first rock solid example of what death metal would go on to sound like. Haha, well I'm sure other songs will get added as you go. Give the track Spiritual Healing a spin. One of personal favourites
Start with _Human_. That's the best introduction to death metal.
@boiledtea479deathcore doesn't have anything to do with death metal, I tell you. It's mostly New York hardcore kids that were too edgy to being just only hardcore and introduced some Suffocation and Devourment influence here and there.
Homie in the thumbnail lookin like the guitar told him a mean joke that hurt his feelings but was lowkey funny

RIP Chuck. Modern metal would have been sooooo different if he was still alive. Also, Spiritual Healing is my FAV Death album!
Would have been interesting to see what he ended up doing with Control Denied and the rest of his career. Another fantastic artist gone too early. SH is my favourite death record too
@@jvschmidt7846 Yeah, I love Control Denied. Would probably release 4 albums from 2001 to 2010 before returning to Death. And I'm glad you have the same taste as mine. Great minds think alike haha
Haha they sure do mate 🤣
@@jvschmidt7846 Yep. Anyway, I listened to most of Grave's albums (just Hating Life, Fiendish Regression, Dominion VIII, Burial Ground, Endless Procession of Souls and Morbid Ascent to go) and I honestly prefer their thrashy stuff to the slow-crawl style of death metal from Soulless onward, which is why I appreciate Out of Respect For The Dead. Don't know if Endless Procession of Souls is the same, though.
Yeah that's fair mate. Fiendish regression, Dominion VIII, EPOS and As rapture comes all have a decent amount of pace to them. Hating life is the one Grave album most people dislike. Ola had to take over on vocals and overall it's a much more groove-thrash orientated album. I still enjoy it quite a bit for what it is though personally.

Yes! Get their debut album "Into The Grave" while you can. It's freaking HEAVY!

@@jvschmidt7846 True. I love 80's and 90's bands. They're awesome. Also, listened to Into The Grave by Grave for a bit and I dig their heaviness. Onward to Dismember!
@hieioni3354 Have to agree with you there mate! Killer man. Into the grave is probably my favourite record of Grave's. But that said they're easily the most consistent of the Swedish death big 4 so they don't really have any bad albums in my opinion. Goodluck mate.... can't say I care too much for dismember 😂
@@jvschmidt7846 I'm glad you rate Grave so high. I'm excited to get more of their stuff. And why don't you like Dismember?
@hieioni3354 I bought 'Like an ever flowing stream' about 5 years back and it's just never landed with me. I've tried on multiple occasions; but the melodic and punk aspects of their sound just keep turning me off. That being said, I'm completely open to my opinion being changed, I just haven't found the album of theirs that's clicked with me.

They certainly do know how to write some serious chug-fest's don't they? Haha. I do plan to do some Morbid Angel at some point mate. But at this point it's going to be a bit further down the track.
Love Baphomet, such an underrated band imo. How long have you been playing guitar? Great playing bro
For sure mate. Completely agree. One of the best to come out of Buffalo along with Malevolent, Cannibal etc. Been playing for about 18 years mate. Not as much as I'd like to for the 12 years though due to adult life and all that crap 😂. Appreciate the compliment mate! 😁

Damn is that a Custom Shop Warrior? Very impressive, you also play through a Fireball 100 right? My other guitar player just got the Artist 100 because they were out of the Fireball, and his sounds killer.
Hey mate, you have a good eye there, but it's just the standard USA Select series warrior. Had it since 2013 and absolutely adore it! Don't think I could ever afford a custom shop 🤣. You're spot on mate, it is a Fireball 100. Your other guitarist has good taste cause I don't think you can go wrong with anything Engl produce!
@@jvschmidt7846 I don't think I would want to afford a Custom Shop Jackson at like 9 grand, would rather get a BC Rich, but even then, if I had 9 grand just burnin a hole, I would figure out a way to get multiple good guitars. Yea, he has always wanted an Engl since the Exhibit B Exodus behind the scenes videos, although I probably wouldn't engage the mid shift or whatever it is he uses, I like a more old school scooped but not Dying Fetus scooped tone.
@TheGreatBaronOBeefDip Yeah I'm hearing you there mate. It is absolutely insane what a custom shop will set you back and I really can't see the appeal. Even the cost of the USA selects has gotten over the top.. but I guess that's just how things are. Yeah that's fair mate. I do like a decent mid range for sure, but I don't find myself using the mid range signal boost really. But glad your mate finally got his hands on one. What amp do you use bud?
@@jvschmidt7846 You could probably sell your Warrior for more than you paid if you ever needed to hahaha. And of course, to be just extra, I play an Ampeg VH140c, boosted with a Metal Zone, and thankfully now a noise gate 4 cable method so it's dead quiet. My other other guitar player has a similar rig, Crate VTX350 with a Metal Zone and NS2, we are stupid enough to have 3 guitar players in the band. Ideally, I would like 1 of SNK's VH300, to retire my Ampeg.
Haha you probably have a point there; but honestly I'd rather burn my cock and balls off with a Bic lighter than sell my warrior 🤣🤣🤣. That's killer mate. Sounds like an awesome set up.

Absolute banger of a track. John made a right decision to shelve it until he formed Incantation instead of discarding it. This track to Incantation is like Black Magic to Slayer, it established the band as another game changer in the death metal scene at the time. Anyway, can you cover the song of the same name by Desaster? It's also a good song ^^
Definitely agree there mate. Profanation really is one of those 'defining tracks'. Haven't actually heard that track, though I've seen the bands name around a fair bit. I'll check it out bud 🤙
@@jvschmidt7846 Yea, defining track for sure. And tell me what you think about that Desaster track later ^^
I checked it out. Seems like it's more on the blackened thrash side of things? Wasn't massively into it, but I think I'll have to give the whole record a spin to get a better idea of them. Appreciate the recommendation though mate.
@@jvschmidt7846 Yea, they are black/thrash. But it's fine if it's not your cup of tea. Thanks for checking it out anyway ^^
@hieioni3354 Nah, I definitely appreciate the recommendation, mate. Usually not terribly big on anything blackened (Myrkskog, Zyklon, Belphegor and Devian would be the exceptions there).
